@@TheJemstar28 there was 3 of them? If yes, I would need to rewatch it. I just watched one about 2 sisters that went missing in 1975. It was an I.D. episode. Main suspect wS Lloyd Welch Jr. Crazy unraveling of a 40 yr old case.

The teeth marks make perfect sense. Sharks and seals and others will take small bites of stuff they find floating to see if it's food.
Not to mention, if the guy really was feeding an underwater monster, wouldn't the dolls never be found? Either there are no marks (monster didn't find the doll) or there is no doll (monster found and ate the doll), but for a doll with bite marks to be found, it can only mean there's no monster, just random sharks.
Not to mention, it was explicitly mentioned that Steve's last doll was not connected to any disappearances so it couldn't have a "soul" inside him. Those bites are guaranteed to be from normal animals.
As it turned out, the Brian guy really was crazy. That's the real horror in the story, that there are crazy murderers among us.

While setting in the edge of a chicken house. While watching the fence lines. It also overlooks the cattle field. I'm a night watchman on a cattle farm mainly Predator management. It's a dreary rainy evening and what better way to pass time than with Mr Lighthouse Horror himself

When we were teenagers we used to write letters to whom it may concern and put them in bottles cork the bottle then throw it in the ocean on a beach in Florida when the tide was going out. We put our names and address on the letters so someone could write us back. We must have thrown one hundred letters out to sea in the year 1973 and as far as I know, nobody wrote us back.
I grew up in a really small town in the Midwest during the 80’s. During my 3rd grade year, we each got to release 10 helium balloons with a letter and our info to see who got the farthest. Not many of us got letters back, so we were a little disappointed.
A few months later, I had a package delivered postmarked Germany. One of my balloons was found by a farmer about 20 miles away. He had a son stationed at a military base in Germany, so he sent the balloon and letter in a care package. The son and his bunk mates gathered up a bunch of German candy and souvenirs items to send our class. They wrote us letters, and included a bunch of “day in the life” pictures.
And that is how I “won” for longest distance our balloon traveled, and our class got a bunch of soldiers as pen pals. The farmer’s son even came to visit our class once when he went home to visit his folks.
That was a really fun memory that you just reminded me of. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

@@osakarose5612 it really was so much fun! We actually kept the penpal thing going for several months (until summer let out). The third grade teacher kept it going with the next class too. If I’m not mistaken, that teacher maintained a relationship with that specific unit on the base for several years.

Awesome story! I collect creepy doll heads, much in the same way the main character found his I find mine whilst metal detecting along the beaches and one or two at first for laughs has grown into a sizable collection along a shelf. As a former field would whose work often involved archeology I have heard many stories of dolls or just doll heads being found at old housing sites hence the in joke with myself and the reason I didn't initially toss them.
Curses are tied to doll heads, not a healthy thing to collect.

I love lighthouses and this was a great story and brilliant narration.
I was with my nephew when a couple of years ago we found a creepy doll head by the lake. (He is a teenager but mentally he is younger) The doll head looked to be half burned so one side is skin colored and the other half is black. With short tousled and dirty hair. The hair looked as if it should have been longer but someone had gone crazy on in with a pair of scissors. The eyes were once able to be opened and closed, but one eye is stuck open while the other is stuck in a half closed position. We both thought it was a cool find and I allowed him to bring it home with him. The neck, or the whole where the head would have been connected to the body, was just an opening into a hollow head and apparently there was a spiders nest inside that we didn’t know about. So after he realized that the box where he kept the head suddenly had one huge spider and a hundred tiny spider babies that had hatched, the head had to move out. Now it lives under the porch stairs.
Dang! Ended right when it was getting good!
The author did a good job setting the silly tone of finding and repairing the washed up dolls, then immediately shift the tone to a sad and horrifying one when the dolls were connected to the missing kids. Threw me for a loop

Speaking of dolls...
Years ago I was riding on the back of a motorcycle with my then boyfriend. It was around 2am heading up to Canyon Lake in Az. Very winding, pitch black road. Halfway up, we round a bend and scattered half down the cliff and onto the narrow road were hundreds of dolls and doll parts of every size imaginable. Whole babydoll size, arms, legs, heads, intact or not, they were EVERYWHERE.
I to this day, have no idea how or why they were there and yes, there was no one else around, nor did we ever pass anyone. Just hundreds of dolls. None of the dolls or parts of dolls looked dirty or run over. It looked deliberate and they looked new.
Hands down one of the scariest experience I have ever had.
That was really good. Loved the ambiguousness.
I do sort of wish it had taken place in the past instead of the present day though.

I would like to see a sequel that addresses the consequences of the 'thing' no longer being fed.
Maybe, if it gets hungry enough, a ferry will capsize and all aboard will be lost.
Or, perhaps it will slither ashore and devour a small town.
After being hungry for long enough to leave the ocean it may decide to gorge itself so it won't have to leave the water again for a long time.

Okay I've made it through about 20 minutes of this and the agony is just too much. I can't take it anymore.
This one is so goooood.
I had dolls as a kid but I never got obsessed with them. More fun to play with other stuff. So I really don't see why people find them scary. Like people being scared of clowns. Pennywise was scary but it's an imaginary character in a book.
