I went to Paris many years ago and visited Napoleon’s Grave site. It was so beautiful considering what the last years of his life were. Napoleon is my favorite early historical person. To get middle school kids interested in history, I would especially the girls tell them the deep love he has for Josephine and the lovely soaps and perfumes he would give her. History has a wonderful way to help you understand the character of these people both European and American history when you get into the thinking of those that are mentioned. You have to see where a country begins to understand where it is now.

Napoléon was French and his tittle was Emperor of the French, not of the Corsicans, Corsicans who happened to be French citizens in 1804 and still are until now, maybe not for long...
So if you want to say that Corsicans were divided about Napoléon, yes they were and certainly still are (like many French people, even if for most of the people it is just a bunch of old stories).
Corsicans who want the independence of Corsica are certainly not pro Napoléon.
      The old story :
Napoléon = a French Corsica, Paoli = a independent Corsica.
