ASUS is a company I will no longer do business with.
They've been doing a very good job with their new RMA plans, but fair enough.
@@jordanash I had to RMA a new mobo a few years ago. Took them almost 3 months to send me a replacement!!!!
Damn that's bad, hopefully they're getting their act together now.
Yeah and what about ASUS rog rtx 4090 ?
What about it?
What a monster!
That's what she said.
Hi, so, very random question, but, I saw you having a lot of asus stuff, do you happen to have an asus rog strix rtx 4070 (non super) of which you would be willing to sell me the box of? (and maybe that collectors card thingy that comes with it)
I like keeping the boxes for all my stuff, but asus did not send me the box back after the rma. Been trying to get one since then
Hey, unfortunately not. The graphics cards tend to be rotated from them and any cards I get from scan I pick specifically. Sorry I can't help.
@@jordanash Aight, no worries
Ridiculous that a board with so many chipset pcie lanes has only one chipset pcie slot.
Yeah, this board is very storage-focused so as the top slot is further down there's not enough space with a modern GPU for two more slots. The Aorus I covered recently has three.
@@jordanashwhich is better overall this asus or the gigabyte?
The Gigabyte I covered? They're going to be pretty far apart price wise I think, I'd wait to see what MSI has got personally 😉 Video Monday.
pcie 3 - > 2 줄었군 , 젠장!
The Gigabyte has three ☺
Good luck, unlock GPU, ASUS still didnt give it quick realease button, like allmost everybody els
I showed the new system in the video at 6:54...
So here is the review about this board and another video is about Asus Crosshair Hero, the conclusion for me is ........... ASUS IS EXPENSIVE AND ALWAYS WILL BE NO MATTER WHICH YEAR OR GEN THEY ARE HAVING, and i really feel like i have to stop buying anything from them if they keep that policy, prices isn't helping, people are mad and complaining, and careless rich just buy more from Asus to let them continue their s... prices going on, i do have their mobo i the past which is Asus Rampage IV Extreme, amazing mobo indeed, but nothing much special over other brands, i also have same gen from Gigabyte and that isn't any less, it was much cheaper, so Asus is for me like Apple of gamers, i have Apple in the past and i stopped getting from them completely several years ago.
Thanks for your comment, they certainly are expensive
Asus makes the best pc components. Will be buying the hero paired with the 9950x3d once they are released. Then an rog matrix 5090 once they are released in early 2025. Should be good for a couple years
Damn, splashing the cash
Hmm certainly getting anxious to see the new Z890 and B860 from Intel. I'm certainly hoping we'll have some better offerings for MATX this time around. My next build here soon will be in an MATX Case.
Some of these new AM5 motherboards are offering some decent features and new innovations. With Intel and AMD pushing for better efficiency, I'd certainly hope to see some more variety for MATX and ITX.
I'm looking forward to seeing what Intel do too. I'm sure we'll see some MATX with B850 too.
Ja man habe das x670e e Gaming auch. Bis auf ein m2 Slot und wifi 7 nichts Neues.
Overpriced, overpriced Cust. Support stinks
I see the RMA service has been improving but fair enough
And it will perform the same as a b650 with the same hardware in it XD, don't waste money on high end boards.
Not necessarily, depends what you want to use on it.
X870E-E -CHONK OF HEATSINK!
Great video Jordan!
It's a chonky boy! Thanks dude!
I wish all those pins were at the back.
There is the Z790 Hero BTF, that has pretty much the same I/O. I'm sure they'll be a rear connect AM5 Hero soon.
What's the price?
I think I mentioned in the video that it'll be announced on the release, which is soon.
Ah yeah, asus - no warranty
From what I've seen they've really improved their RMA service.
Best reviewer
Thanks man!
Asus really needs to rebrand everything. They went full cringe with this lineup.
The designs have become rather marmite now, very busy.
@@jordanash Incidentally, I hate marmite as well.
Me too 😂
expensive as hell
Gonna be a spenny one, not as much as the Hero though 😬
Look at all the space wasted by the I/O ports and shielding. It’s such an antiquated way thinking. If someone can build a motherboard without all the useless port, it’ll be so much easier to build a small form factor PC.
Everything on the I/O panel can be replaced with 2 to 4 UBS-C ports.
Guessing you're an SFF fan, you might like the ITX I covered. However a lot of people like a bigger form factor with the options they give.
Very nicely configured board. I am waitng to see how close the ProArt X870-E compares to the ProArt X670-E.
I will see if I can get one.
100% another great Video Review ...you definitely deserve alot more subcribers to your TH-cam Channel.👍
Thank you, I appreciate that
Love the exposed easy to reach BIOS batteries. 😍
Great job on the SSD placements as well. 👌
Pity they keep hiking up the price though... 😢
Pros and cons!
It's Asus... automatic No-Buy!
I've not had a problem with any Asus boards personally, but fair enough.
@jordanash I'm still rocking a Maximus Formula VI and a Maximus Hero VII in two systems here. But the quality control at Asus has become very bad. A lot of products break, and a lot of channels have topics on that. Jays2cents explains it the best and even discarded them as a sponsor amd doesn't use the brand any more. And then the prices of these boards, have you seen them? The Hero for instance is $700+ and I believe these 2 you have are up to almost $400.
Oh don't worry I've seen all of that, I'm a fan of Jay's videos, reviewer aside. Unfortunately I'm not at a point in my career I can just suddenly stop using a company's products as I rely on them to make videos, I don't make enough money to buy others or get enough other samples to do that.
To be fair given I've not had any problems I was within my rights to carry on using them, but I did stop using them for a period while they sorted out their RMA process. From what I can see they've made a lot of good changes.
People will still want to see and will buy them either way. I will be making a roundup video with my thoughts about the launch as a whole where I'll talk more about the pricing ☺
Asus make the best and best looking pc components in my opinion. Have had zero issues on all my asus builds
Wait till u see price
Will go over pricing in the roundup video, think I mentioned it at the end of this video.
Im guessing 800 bucks. Just a guess tho.
That will be the Hero price I expect
This or the X670E crosshair hero?
Hero is looking to be another £140-£150 on top of this, but I've not used it/got one, so without that I wouldn't like to say.
If you fill it up with m.2 drives, do you lose anything? Top pcie slot reduced to x8 or something like that? It's hard to find that info out.
That's under embargo at the moment as it relates to the block diagram.
@@jordanash okay, thanks for the reply.
No probs. I'll be making a round up where I'll cover these things ☺
from asus rog website ... "** M.2_2 & M.2_3 slots share bandwidth with PCIEX16(G5). When M.2_2 & M.2_3 are occupied with SSD devices, PCIEX16(G5) will run x8 only."
It is not clear, at least from my pov, what happens if you only use M.2_1 and M.2_2 slots, not M.2_3 ...
That's what I'm looking to clarify in the round up video ☺
i wish this exact ver had a white variant, it seems better than the ROG STRIX X870-A GAMING WIFI
Yes, true
@@jordanash I’m still probably gonna get the. 870-A since I’m going for a white build, it should still be decent mobo for 9950x? No crazy differences right?
Yeah that'll be good anyway, this is a bit overkill for most anyway. Aorus have a X870 Elite ICE too, you might want to look at that too.
Can you do the Asrock Nova ?🎉
Will see if I can get one.
Monster, next gen - just a words.
Need tests.
I mean that in terms of what it can do. Of course it needs tests but that's under embargo still.
@@jordanash Hello. We will wait for the tests ;)
Will be used in a build soon
it’s such a pretty board omg
Glad you like it :)
another great video.
Thank you 🫶
mATX when?
I expect we'll see mATX with B850
Nice!
Thanks for watching!
Hoping to see some Z890 specs and pricing soon - great job, keep them coming
I'm sure you will 👀 Thank you, will do.
Nothing better than a x670e board for more money. AMD dissapoints bigtime this year
AMD wise yeah, looking forward to see how Z890 does
Price of asus rog strix X870E-A motherboard??
we don't know yet
There has been no pricing announcement of *any* new motherboards yet.
@@jordanash ohh
@@jordanash i understand
Once we can talk about performance we'll have prices to go with it ☺
honestly like it more than the Hero.
Great VIDEO
Fair play! Thank you ☺
Will this motherboard drive 2 daisy chained 1080p monitors using the integrated graphics? No PCIe GPU installed
From the spec it should, but if you're buying a board that's looking to be upwards of £450, surely you'd get a GPU too?
Thanks. And good question 😂 I’m thinking I might buy a new pc soon but then wait a couple of months to see if new Nvidia gpus emerge before stumping up for a video card
Is it possible to connect a monitor to the usb 4 ports that you mentioned support displayPort? I presume I’d need a usb-c to DP cable? Unless there are monitors with usb-c inputs now?
There are monitors with USB C, but the only CPUs supporting graphics are the 8000 series and those are okay, but I'd get a GPU. I'd also wait to see what comes out and then upgrade everything, the board will be cheaper then too.
lmao. Buys $500 motherboard, using IGPU. wtf.
I bought the X670e recently, maybe I will return it and buy the X870e instead if prices aren't that much higher.
I wouldn't worry, the X670 is a banger of a board.
@@jordanash Yeah, it is. But the X870e has some new future things, like Wifi 7 or USB 4 and an extra Front USB Header which will be good for my case. But I will see.
I don't think it's worth the upgrade. If you had a basic B650 maybe, or are coming from AM4.
The x670e doesn't have 4 cpu lanes used for USB4 in general, so you have more options for M2 Gen5 in general compared to the x870e version of this board. I have the x670e version and run 2 Gen5 M2's (4 lanes each) and GPU at 16x which takes 24 lanes in total. On the x870e because of USB4 you are left with 20 lanes, which means you only have 4 for your Gen5 M2's if you want your GPU to run at 16x Sort of makes 2/3 large M2 heatsinks on top a total waste on this board.
@@flaccus123 I use only Gen 4 M.2. But the prices of the X870 Boards will be much higher than X670, so it won't be worth it anyways.
Another massive waste of money. People should just stick with X860 boards. Barely any difference whatsoever...only the odd added gimmick and features you will likely never use in the BIOS.
There's just a few changes so far, but I have got another on the way that's a very nice jump in spec
@@jordanash We shall see. But it can't be any worse than anything that has "AI" plastered all over the box.
I absolutely loathe the AI on everything trend.
thing is if its abt wrong things for me it always happen flawlessly wo any sort of protection, then i always forced to find workaround myself and same thing repeats later on, and on
@@jordanashI’m waiting for AI cases to come out
Great.
Will there be a video about the X870e Hero?
Will see if I can get one
Got a Gigabyte x870 Elite Wifi7 ICE for £250. Why would someone buy this for over £100 extra?
You could make the same argument with a B series board with what you have. Different people have different use cases and likes :)
Wait, WHAT? From where did you get that board or any X870 board? I thought they aren't out yet for people to buy and only by testers hands like TH-camrs? I am willing to buy X870 at maximum of $300-350 if i can find it.
Some dodgy looking sellers in the UK have stock, how they're able to sell yet I don't know.
I'm a fan of Asus Rog Strix and gigabyte aorus, I always wanted Asus rog strix x670e-e but they have issues like overheating or burns cpu so I brought Gigabyte Aorus master x670e
I expect they'll only have that issue once, as it'll be checked on new ones so it doesn't happen again, but Aorus are doing good boards too
Asus x670e had issues which an early bios resolved over a year ago if not longer. It's perfect now.
