- Chianti Classico is one of the Italy’s most historic and greatest red wines. In this video I will briefly talk about history of this legendary wine from the Tuscany region and whether it must be made from Sangiovese only. You will also find out about its different quality tiers (such as Chianti Classico, Chianti Classico Riserva and Chianti Classico Gran Selezione), style and flavors, as well as recommended food pairings and producers to try.

Great video as usual🙏🏻my two favourite is Casa Emma Chianti Classico Gran Selezione and Tenuta Tignanello Marchesi Antinori Ghianti Classico Riserva😋 Greeting from Stockholm Sweden
Thank You for adding these to Your list. 🙏🏻
Val delle corti is my favourite Chianti Classico producer
This is a known producer, thank You for sharing and reminding me about them! 🍷 Cheers! ✨
I really enjoy Chianti when paired with someone's liver with some fava beans
I really hope it is just a quote. 😂😅
I enjoyed the wine on your table: Perano
Yes, Tenuta Perano a really great wine, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of that wine! 🍷
Istine Chianti Classico is my current favorite for any cheesy Pizza. Excellent!
Agh, Chianti Classico with typical pizza with a melting cheese on top is the best pairing! 🤤🤤🤤
@@NoSediment I know, right? "Quattroformaggio" 😁
I just downed a bottle of Chianti from Trader Joes...granted it was only $6.99 but I had to try it after seeing a few of your videos
😂 And how was it? I don’t have Trader Joes back at my home, therefore I am not familiar with their private labels. 😔
@@NoSediment it has the consistent respectable sangiovese taste for a low priced wine...TJ's is known for its budget wines and sells a pretty good cross section of varietals from around the world including a number of California wines, where I live. They sell a Sicilian wine that is quite good Epicuro Nero d’Avola, $4.99 for 750 mL. I think they have an arrangement with several wine distributors to get the best price but may not be a widely known label. I have an interest in Italian wines, particularly, as we both share that Mediterranean terroir and having visited Italy once I have a fondness for all things Italian!
Your choices are great as usual Agnese.
I also love Fattoria di Felsina Riserva di Berendenga.
You are a doll. You knowledge of wines & grape varietals is truly impressive. (Love your accent too? ❤
Thank You! 🙏🏻 Cheers! 🥂🍾
Thanks for all your great videos about Chianti Classico! We'll be there in several weeks! Do you have any favorite wineries you'd recommend? Thanks!
There are definitely some nice places, I have mentioned several times, but it is worth visiting Antinori estate. It is impossible to be disappointed even if You are not fan of their wines. I very much like Nittardi and Querciabella as well! Completely different setting.
@@NoSediment Thank you so much!
Villa di Geggiano makes superb chianti classico and riserva at a great price.
Thank You for the tip! 🙌🙌🙌
Montevertine is my own personal fav.
Cheers to that, soon will be there and try to seek it out! 😅
I really enjoy Chianti Classico with Italian pasta!
Hi, Eric, it seems that You are back! 🍷 Cheers! Yes, Chianti Classico with Italian pasta is a classic. ✨
It’s the wine to pair with basic Italian dishes Americans know of when they think of Italian food with some not being authentically Italian. Pizza, chicken parmesan, pasta with red sauce and steak Florentine (local food with local wine) are a just a few that work well with Chianti Classico.
As an entry level you could have mentioned Chianti, produced in a wider area than the traditional one but also DOCG. My favorite Chianti Classico is from Castellare di Castellina and my Riserva is from Castello di Volpaia.
Hi,
I very intentionally left the Chianti out here, mostly because it seems to me, that as an appellation they are going in a completely opposite direction with emphasis on quality and terroir. And thank You for sharing Your favourite wines, must check out! 🍷
Very Nice
Thank You! 🍷
I am completely locked into Chianti for red sauce Italian food. That means Chianti with Friday night pizza or meatballs and spaghetti, but Chianti Classico with a better (still Italian) meal. Or maybe Barbera.
I agree, those are perfect pairings! Though Chianti Classico for me has way more to offer! 🙌🙌🙌
❤love ur video
Thank You! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@NoSediment thx Agnes
Bravo
🍷🎉
for a Chanti Classico Reserva, how long should we breathe the wine in bottle before drinking?
Well, one of my latest videos is tackling this topic -> wine decanting and aeration. A lot of people don’t like my opinion on this, but I essentially think that rarely any wine needs an aeration before serving. And I would say that Chianti Classico is among those. 😅
Try Castellare
Thank You for the tip! 😉
When are we going to talk about Vino Nobile?
Mediocre wine with rare exceptions
Do You mean Chianti or Chianti Classico? Because Chianti Classico, is a great wine and I don’t think it deserves the hate. Truly beautiful wines and worth exploring more.
