Thanks for the video Dasha - this is one of my favourites that you've so far posted! Normally, I watch your Russian-language videos without subtitles (or with Russian subtitles) but in this case I watched the video with English subtitles as I didn't want to miss a word Raisa Nikolaevna said. Such a hard-working and amazing woman with such a balanced and healthy outlook on life. I found it impossible to disagree with anything she said. The post-war years in Great Britain were difficult, but I think in rural Soviet Russia life was so hard - yet Raisa has able to look back fondly and say these were very happy times. If she lived near to me, I would definitely buy my eggs and farm produce from her - not from the supermarket! In the park near me there used to be old man who sat on a bench outside the metro station, from there he sold kitchen implements which he'd made himself out of wood. He was very nice, and it's always better to buy a bread-board, or something from someone like him, which he's made himself and which helps him in his retirement. It helps him, and gives you a feel-good feeling that you'll never get from buying the same product from a large corporation.
I undestand why everyone is so proud of St. Petersburgh I have only seen it on the Internet but I can see it is a truly beautiful City. I would still prefer to spend my day with Raisa Nikolaevna surrounded by nature, no crowds and no traffic. It would not be a very meaningful conversation about literary giants I would point at something and she could say it in Russian. Great video, I hope we see more, you are a natural interviewer.
very sincere babuschka, she has an interesting life, has experienced a lot and thinks a lot about the world and her era. Respect! thx for the exiting video Dascha, many regards from Austria!
The strangest thing about life in Russia for me is how people treat nature :( its so different than living in New Zealand . Thank you for the video , lovely, friendly and welcoming Russian women talking
I agree. Many people here destroy nature, cut down trees, dump trash etc. I think the government should change their politics: don't sell tons of Russian forest abroad, recycle trash, protect nature etc. There's a lot of land, that's why they think they can hide destruction from the people of Russia and the world, but thanks to the internet we see their negligence
@@RussianwithDasha indeed Russia is very big ....but not unlimited :( seems to me many Russian people have forgotten or never learnt the story of " Kovlad"

thank you Grant! I agree, I always try to support local farmers/craftsmen/artists. You get amazing quality products for low prices
@@RussianwithDasha Yes, absolutely Dasha. You're helping a real, local person - not just giving money to some meaningless corporation.
