Ombuds Day 2024: Here to Hear You

The 2024 theme is “Ombuds: Here to Hear You,” one that will be celebrated on Thursday, October 10 by ombuds, the organizations they provide services to, and ombuds membership groups across the world.
This year, the ABA Ombuds Day Subcommittee was excited to host an event titled, “Exploring the AI Landscape: Challenges and Opportunities for Ombuds.”
This engaging and wide-ranging discussion includes perspectives from different ombuds sectors and will center around the impact that artificial intelligence will have on the future of the ombuds profession. With the help of a facilitator, reactors representing various approaches to ombudsing will engage in thoughtful discussion regarding the challenges and opportunities that AI will present for our work. We hope that this conversation will help our profession to think differently, challenge assumptions, and identify areas for growth and change that new technologies will present.
