The Rollei is double the price of the Velbon (in the EU). I would go for the Rollei! P.S. Those tripods are not really made for that camera/flash combination..... The camera mount on the Rollei is mounted and left on the camera which makes it a "quick mount". Mine is on my camera 100% of the time.
@@ecologicaltime That I am not sure of.... All these "quick mounts" look the same but maybe they only "mate" with the same make and model of tripod. I have been out of the photo business too long..... (smile)
Of course the choice would be the rollei with a cam and a lens for 2000 EUR. What is a small difference of maybe 30 EUR, if your cam just one time would crash.
I had a Velbon tripod, never buy again, plastic that break easily...cheap construction. I prefer the Rollei more solid and the arca swiss ball head seems just great with aluminium construction.

Great detailed overview, came in looking to get the Velbon, came out owning the Rollei
No the lowest point is with the legs flat and the ballhead removed and put your camera straight on the base. Then it's way lower.
