Dr. Emmanuel Enekwechi is the Convening Council Chair of the Congress of Nations and States (CNS). CNS is an indigenous rights advocacy organization. CNS was formed in response to the growing necessity for peace, justice, and a more inclusionary and focused approach to global dialogue. CNS fosters, supports, and encourages relationships between Peoples, Nations, and States premised on equality.
Dr. Enekwechi was born and grew up in the Igbo Nation in Nigeria. He got his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at Rutgers University in the United States of America. He taught both graduate and undergraduate students and practiced as a Clinical Psychologist in several universities in both Nigeria and the United States for forty years before retiring. He was the first head of the Biafra Government in exile.

Dr. Enekwechi " A state that denies the indigenous people, which whom it shares the same territorial space, their rights, simply because it has the military might to do so, refuses to acknowledge even the existence of the indigenous people, persecutes them, denies them fundamental rights to life, liberty, and ownership of property, underminds or destroys their culture and social fabric that State is laying a foundation of eventual implosion or disintegration of that State".
