I got my Patriot 😀😀😀 thanks for this video, my first detector with this many settings. I have alot to learn lol. Going out after work for the first time. I mainly hunt coins and jewelry. I'll take any tips you got😉😉. GL&HH

Having done some research, I seem to prefer the Teknetics Patriot. Kindly share your opinion...
My opinion is that it is the best metal detector in the $400 range...nothing else touches it in the price range other than a T2 Classic at a full $100 more.

this is the detector I need I live in northern California in the gold country
I live in some of the worst coil in Colorado. I can say this does VERY well in bad soil and the quick grab ground balance gives me a phase readout within 1-2 of my T2 when I do it by ear manually.

I love my patriot, except my factory reset isn't working. i have tried it several different times. Would you mind giving me a play by play on it or very specific instructions? I've tried holding down the GG/Menu button while it is powered off and turning it on.. do i need to keep holding it for a long time? All i can get is the FF not the 88 :( Thanks THGT
It should just be a hold down and then turn on. You need to make sure both Menu and GG are pressed perfectly as they are pretty stiff buttons. Should see a 88 show up as soon as you turn the knob to on....then it is factory reset. Wish I could help more but that's all there is to it! Best of luck!
Thanks, will give it another go. I'm super happy with this MD. There was a slight learning curve but reading manual and of course watching your videos has helped tons. My only complaint is that it's not waterproof! I live near the ocean and tons of rivers/lakes so that would be super cool. I've read there might be a new TK/Fisher Waterproof machine coming out in the near future, i certainly hope so. Cheers and thanks again! Love the channel
Glad you are happy AJ. Most guys says a good 100 hours on a detector is what you need to master it. So keep using it and digging those holes. It is waterproof up to the coil connector near the control box....so you can take it in a couple feet of water...just dont dunk the box itself. Thanks for the kind words!
Yeah I've been wading with it a few times, found some interesting things that's why I want to take the plunge so to speak, haha. The tricky party for me is actually not getting the battery/headphone compartment wet because sometimes you need more than one hand to dig in the water and i set it up on the shore and the tide can be unpredictable. I know you don't do water but just curious, which of the water machines have peaked your interest? I was leaning towards maybe an MX Sport next year. Also, completely agree on the 100 hours.

Have you compared the Bounty Hunter Land Ranger Pro Metal Detector to the Teknetics LIBERATOR Metal Detector they look identical except for the faceplates?
And the Teknetics EuroTek Pro looks identical to the Tecnetics minuteman,...... except for the faceplates?
I have not seen the Patriots clone.
They are identical other than the faceplates. The Patriots clone was the Fisher F70. All three sold poorly in the USA - so they rebranded them.
detech ultimate 13" coil for fisher f70 can swap on teknetics patriot? Because they say they are the same...help
F70 and Patriot are the same machine...different faceplate. Yes...they swap coils with each other and the F75. Buy it already...its a great detector.

Not trying to be rude bud your coil is wrapped backwards it should come over the lower stem instead of under or for this model is it supposed to go behind first?
Craftz Galore If the cable come up behind the pole...it wraps behind first. If on top... then around top first. But to be honest...it does not matter and I have wrapped both ways with zero test difference.

Not really no...I don't carry stock. I just provide a code (A1474) for their direct website. Gives free shipping and X amount off depending on the detector. They give the codes to vendors and dealers etc...and do consider me one technically...I just don't carry stock like a normal multi-brand dealer does.
Multiple years later do you still think this is a good machine for the money? I recently started out on a nokta makro simplex and am considering adding another machine to the collection. Would this complement the simplex well or would I be better off going up to a minelab equanox?
Yes the Patriot is still very good for the price. That being said, the Equinox 800 is for sure "better" in most cases....being 2X+ the price basically.
@@thehuntergt thanks so much for the reply! Got to give it some thought. The equanox looks like an amazing machine but it is quite a bit more expensive. I like to tinker and am curious by nature. I like comparing different things as well. Who knows what I'll end up with eventually 🤣🤦♂️.
Hey TheHunterGT, with a screw on connector... is that bad boy water proof, or weather proof?
Nope....don't get that connector damp. Only the coil and cable are waterproof.
ugh.. That is one thing that would probably make this detector a hands down winner of all. ... Well more so that it already is :D
I heard this is just a Fisher F70 with a different case, is that true?
That is correct....same as Fisher F70 that used to be $800....now $399.
I can think of a detector that costs less thats better the Golden Mask 5, I paid $359 and its far better of a machine and way more versatile. Especially in iron infested areas.
Not personally a fan at all. More about just iron performance as I am a park and school hunter myself.
Very small LCD font...7-8 hours of battery life...2 year warranty on the coil and battery....overseas service if needs repair.
Screen and menu has way less info....much better tones and modulated audio on this Patriot.
I have never used a GM5...but seeing guys on Dankowski forums selling theirs after a few months and then going back to the 13khz platform in the F75 and T2....no thanks.
They are close to $530 after conversion rate and VAT to get them stateside. You got a great deal on yours however.
To each their own...glad you enjoy it. I'll stick to the 13khz Fisher/Teknetics platform as I feel they are much better information waise...which is what brings me targets.
I bought mine from them directly at Christmas they had a huge sale going on. Its a great machine its a lot quieter in iron than the fishers are, and it is deep I found a coin at 12 inches with the 9 inch coil. which for where I live is very good.
Yes it has less info on the golden mask 5 but the 5+ has more and has a VDI. so it remedies the issues with the original. but all in all its not a bad detector. 8khz eats batteries and 18 doesn't

I no longer have this detector sorry...but it will find Mexican coins for sure. Metal is metal no matter what country it is from.
