    This my friend is an AMAZING video. I build a lot of racks for myself and others. For the 29 & under tanks have been using the DIY K's plan which has worked OK-with the issue of being a booger to square & level. Your plan is going to be amazingly simpler way to do those things. WOW!
    Plus the base design insuring one is square/level from the start-top and bottom. WOW! WOW!
    Plus, turning the shelf boards the opposite way to rest on the supports so the tank edges are not barely hanging on there WITH THE also eliminating the need to build four-piece 2 x 4 shelves (which also are a HUGE challenge to square/level-WOW! WOW! WOW! How much simpler could it be!
    Being a Pastor appreciate the "God Bless" at the end. I am going to use this design to begin working on two sextuple 29 tall racks for my fish room (they're sitting on cinderblock stands now) this weekend.
    One question. Is your design an HS inspired design or a modification of someone else’s? Thank you again for this meticulous rack construction video!

    I’ve built a similar stand. I appreciate the work it takes to get it level. My garage floor isn’t level so it was hard to get the stand level. My tanks are in the garage and needed shims since the floor isn’t level.

      It's a struggle. My porch where I built this is level but where I put it in the basement isn't perfect (raised for a pipe).
      So here come the shims. Lol

      The Fish Nerd the more I observes floors and walls, you realize a lot are truly level. Shims r us!

    Have you ever made a fish tank stand with rollout shelves for easy cleaning?

    Thanks for this great video. I'm running out of room and need slimmer and taller stands.

    🤔 put longer boards on the bottom to keep it more stable.

      This won't be standing solo. It will be between other stands of tanks along the wall.
      Besides, it would take a deliberate push to knock this over, especially while it's holding 480 pounds of water. :)

    What type of screws did you use?
    Also, what type of saw did you use to cut the 2x4s?

    • @TheFishNerd
      @TheFishNerd  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      2.5 inch deck screws with star drive
      Used a circular saw

    I wish you luck on the design and stability of that stand... definitely cringe worthy with those bottom planks and horizontal 2x4's that should be on edge, not flat. But hey, they're 20's. If you decide to to more stands please do some more research on the subject especially if you go with bigger tanks. Other then that, keep up the good work!

    • @TheFishNerd
      @TheFishNerd  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Standard rimmed tanks in this size range need only have the four corners supported.
      These tanks would be fine without the horizontal 2x4s at all (see the stands at Aquarium Co-op where the same tanks are supported only on the left and right sides).
      My design includes them mainly to hold the left and right sides of the stand together since it is a freestanding rack.
      Turning them on edge would be superfluous for tanks this size and would only cost space.

    Since this is very narrow is it easy to fall over lol?
