21:18 He's Shujinko. He's the main character of Mortal Kombat: Deception. He has the power to copy any MK characters fighting style and powers. Also, Ashrah & Havik were introduced in this game as well 🙏🏽💪
That pyramid scene in the Armageddon Intro was how every fighter died at the beginning of MK9 apart from Raiden and Shao that led to Raiden resetting the timeline back to the original 3 games
Yeah that's stupid because we supposed to get another protagonist and shao kahn and Raiden wasn't in the top of the pyramid but they scraped the plan and they magically get shao kahn in the top of the pyramid with Raiden smashing his head like a watermelon and we got the great reset back to the first tournament with Raiden being insane with his vision's
From what I understand, based on MK11's final chapters, during the battle between Shang Tsung and Liu Kang, when Shang Tsung won, he restarted time and had all the characters who we're used to seeing be good are bad under Shang's influence. So Raiden was never a good guy in Shang Tsung's timeline, he's always been bad and is aiding Shang Tsung because it's what he's used to doing in Shang's timeline. To clear up Armageddon's intro, when the Pyramid appeared, it became everyone for themselves and they battled each other to reach to top and defeat Blaze (the big lava monster in the final shot), and defeating Blaze would give them ultimate power. As we find out in MK9's intro, Shao Kahn wins that battle and is why Raiden sends visions to his past self to prevent Shao Kahn from reaching Armageddon. Plus, the character narrating MK: Deception's intro is Shujinko, who is also a kameo fighter in MK1. Shinnok is also mentioned in MK1 by Geras who describes Shinnok as powerless, so he may return in the next game, but he'd have to gain power somehow to be the villain we've seen him as.
Mortal Kombat Deception was called Deception because Shujinko thought he was the chosen one and was tricked by Damashi to gather all the Komidogu and bring them into the Nexus between realms. You find out that Scorpion was the real champion and Shujinko kills him in the nexus. Then it gets revealed that Damashi is the Dragon King Onaga giving tasks to Shujinko beyond the grave and everything Shujinko had done up to that point was done to ressurect the Dragon King. That's where I think people say in MK1 you have to know the other games. Because Shang Tsung said he was being led by Damashi, the Dragon King's army is in the game, as well as the Nexus, and Shujinko is a Kameo fighter.
14:32 To be honest, I have to say it wasn't Raiden's fault this time. It's Fujin's. Raiden gave the title of protector of Earthrealm to Fujin after MK4, and Raiden became an Elder God. So Liu Kang died on Fujin's watch. Raiden found out and tried to convince the other Elder Gods to help Earthrelam to stop the Deadly Alliance, but they refused. So Raiden decided to take matters into his own hands and gave up the title of Elder God and became Earthrealm's protector again.
The main thing you missed was the intro to mk9 that mkiceandfire skipped. It ties the original mk timeline(just one of many) directly to the second timeline (9 10 and 11)
You guys really should watch the complete Mortal Kombat timeline by gamespot to get a full grasp of what's going on ) it explains everything and how Deadly aliance, Deception and Armageddon ties into the events of mk9, 10, 11 leading up to MK1
Onaga gets referred to in the Shao Kahn ending in the new MK1. And the references in general are pretty cool, like when Liu Kang said "a new deadly alliance?"
7:32. He can change his size. And being big makes you easier target. Also he didnt use to Crown which is weird unless he doesnt need it anymore so he just wore it while creating his timeline and then when he saw crown doesnt fit his new outfit he took it off.
I appreciate that Li Mei got some respect in MK1, because she got done dirty her 3 other games haha. Her endings in DA and Deception are hard losses and end up with her subservient to Onaga, and she gets killed INSTANTLY in Armageddon's intro. Thanks for playing Li Mei, but you can't win until 2 timelines later.
I know, right?! Seeing her ending in Deadly Alliance was depressing! Li Mei had a noble goal, to save her village from oppression, but unfortunatley, she ended up getting her soul taken and become a slave to both Shang Tsung & Qui Chi
This is where the fun begins! Besides the second ending in MK 11, I've been looking forward to seeing you two's reaction to Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, Deception & Armageddon! Curious to hear you two's thoughts as well! 🙏🏽💪
Onaga was the original ruler of Outworld. Shao Kahn was his most trusted advisor who would go on to betray him, killing him and taking the throne for himself (which is why Onaga went after Shao during the Armageddon intro). Onaga was so powerful that even Shao feared facing him in kombat, so he poisoned Onaga, weakening him enough that he was able to kill him. Onaga's Dragon Army was "undefeatable" because of his power to raise the dead. Every time one of his soldiers was killed, he revived them, creating the illusion of an endless, unbeatable army.
Just the Deadly Alliance tower endings will connect a lot of dots. For the record, Shinnok was not at the pyramid fight. That was a copy of himself. He’s trapped in the Neatherrealm at the time.
So if you're wondering how Shang Tsung and Raiden were revived, it's because of Onaga's perfect formula of his sorcery, any corpse or dead near Onaga will be revived. Shao, once upon a time, Served Onaga Khan back when he was General Shao, but he poisoned Onaga since he couldn't take him on man-to-man, and became Khan.
I will always love the intro to Armageddon it's gotta be the best MK intro from past games hands down. But Deception imo is the best game from the 3 you covered Oh apart from all the MK1 stuff doing other kinds of videos like MK9 babalities and possibly stage Fatalities would be Kool.
Here’s the timeline of Mortal Kombat: Games 1-8 are the main games. Games 9-11 was the reboot. And MK1 is the reset of everything. To understand every character, especially how powerful Onaga truly is, you’d have to understand what the realms even are. The realms are the One Being. You’d be forgiven for not knowing who that is, because he’s never been shown or really even talked about in the games… for whatever reason. That’s why people like Shao Kahn, Shinnok, the Deadly Alliance, and Onaga want to conquer the realms, because as they do, they slowly become the One Being. The One Being is unkillable and unlimitedly powerful. The Elder gods separated him (the One Being) into what we now know as the 7 Realms (because they couldn’t beat him) which are Earthrealm, Outworld, Netherrealm, Edinea, Chaosrealm, Orderrealm, and Zaterra. Which is to say, the One Being is reality itself in the Mortal Kombat world lol. I’m not going to spoil Mortal Kombat Deception’s story in case you want to watch the cutscenes of that game, but just know that anyone can become the One Being by collecting the Kamidogus and putting them all in one spot and absorbing their power. Also Shinnok’s amulet is one of those Kamidogus. That’s why Onaga went after Quan Chi in the opening trailer, because he’s wearing it. This is why most of us OG fans who grew up with this series hate the newer time travel stuff, because great parts of this series’ story has never truly been explored as it should’ve been and it looks like now it never will.
To add a bit of context of who the white haired guy and hooded lady are: Argus is basically the Raiden of Edenia, which is the original home realm of Sindel, Kitana, Jade, Tanya and Rain. Tanya says "by Argus!" or something to that effect in MK1. Delia is his wife, a mortal sorcerer and seer. Their sons Taven and Daegon are the main characters of MK Armageddon, and the only new characters in that game. Argus is also the father of Rain, making Rain a demigod and the half brother of Taven and Daegon - something Liu Kang presumably retconned in the New Era. The conversation between Argus and Delia we see here is set far in the past, long before Shao invaded Edenia and merged it with Outworld.
13:41 Yikes! But to be fair, this game takes place after the events of MK 4, where Raiden becomes an Elder God and he allowed Fujin in take his place as the protector of Earthrealm. There's no explanation for where Fujin was, so in a way, its kind kf his fault lol. Also, the Elder Gods chose not to interfere, but Raiden didn't want Earthrealm to suffer, so he became the main protector again. Hope this makes sense
At the end of Mortal Kombat 1, the movie, it was just a projection of Shao Khan and not himself in person. A projection can be made as large as you like. He himself jumped through the portal only after that.
Deception's story mode (Konquest) is very, VERY janky but also showcases a lot of the returning characters from MK1, and one of of MK1's biggest twists is a giant reference to things that happen in it. I would fully recommend watching some type of story recap thing for Konquest.
The beginning of Mortal Kombat 9 is ther aftermath of the Arnageddon intro. Shao Kahn killed Onaga, came back to the pyramid, and beat the big guy you see at the end of the Armageedon trailer.
One of the things I think you might not understand about Elder Gods in the MK universe is that they are not there to stop atrocities or horrific events from happening. But are there to make sure the cycle of life continues, and the fabric of reality isn't ruined. If a character becomes an Elder God, they are forbidden to interfere with the mortal matters just like all the others. But they can permanently revoke their Elder God statis and return to the mortal plan to then help in events.
Just in case you missed it, Jaby and Achara? The woman who Hotaru impales in the intro of Armageddon is the original Li Mei. She was the first to die in the events of Armageddon. Also, I'm positive ye guys already have comments saying it, but MK9's full intro shows the aftermath of Armageddon. The one you guys saw back then skipped it straight to Dark Raiden and Shao Kahn's battle. You'll be... quite impressed by how horribly it all ended.
32:04 From what I remember, Tavan and Daegon, the brothers are supposed to fight fire being called Blaze. If one of the brother's beat Blaze, one of them can either destory all the fighters or disarm them, and return them home to the realms they belong to. But its only for the brothers Taven and Daegon. Like a coin toss, and they don't even know. However, all the Mortal Kombat characters assume that whoever beats Blaze, can get any power they desire. That's why you see all the heroes and villains trying to get the power for themselves. Especially if one of the fighters have a rival. But if they fight and defeat Blaze, and not Taven or Daegon, it's going to cause total destruction to all the realms regardless. That's why it's called Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. Hope this makes sense! 🙏🏽💪
20:05 The Deception cutscene still looks goof as fuck with Shang and Raiden coming back. Like, WHAT?!!! Not even another episode, but the same damn fight scene.
Onaga's backstory:The original ruler of Outworld poisoned by Shao Kahn who took his throne. He has an immortal army under his command and is one of the most powerful villains ever.
I suggest watching all the konquest cutscenes for mk deception and Armegeddon konquest is basically the story mode for those games if you decide to make sure to start with deception armegeddon is last
For Raiden following Shang Tsung. Shang Tsung reworked time and as far as I understand it you have to work with the grains that are in your hour glass (speculating based off of some dialogue in MK11 & MK1) so Raiden would have to exist in some capacity (or maybe Shang just really wanted to command him after dealing with him for so long). So my guess is he would have corrupted him earlier in his life, molded him to believe that serving the Titan is the correct course for a Demi-God/Lesser God to take, which fits his character correctly when you consider that Raiden in the previous two timelines was a loyal servant to the Elder Gods prior to becoming corrupted by Shinnocks amulet) so now Raiden. As for Shang Tsungs motivations, my grasp on him has always been that he seeks endless power and it's never enough for him, also that he really enjoys playing mind games, but beyond both of those aspects, he fears subjugation. So when he was in Outworld, he wanted to be the one in charge and didn't want anyone being able to challenge his rule. Then he would have wanted to command all the realms, which is what he does in his MK11 ending, so that no-one from another realm could challenge him and then in MK1 he wanted to challenge other timelines for that same reason, but he also mentioned wanting to merge the timelines too which makes me think he needed the power and resources from other timelines as his greed has likely caused his timeline to dry up in that regard, which would explain the giant pyramid that appeared to be a massive Soul Well. That would probably also cover the question of what normal people are doing in Shang Tsungs timeline. He likely just farmed them, consumed their souls and became too greedy and wiped out the majority of life in his timeline. Good thing souls don't have a high fat content I suppose. Hope that was worth the read lol
2:12 That would be cool. However, he was probably busy. Plus, he is getting older and probably wants to do other things. Regardless, glad we had him voice Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat 11
17:48 They kind of recreated this scene in MK 11: Aftermath, where Nightwolf's revenant was frying Shang Tsung's face and he had take his soul to heal and recharge
If you want to see more about Kenshi, and more of the elseworld concepts in MK11 and MK1, Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind is perfect. Also in my opinion the best MK Movie period
Hey guys! You two already know most of what I'm going to say but hopefully I can clarify NetherRealm's vision just a little. After MK Armageddon NetherRealm decided to in-universe reboot the franchise and that gave us MK9, a complete retelling of MK 1-3. Then MK X was a retelling of the events of MK4, since Quan Chi, Shinnok and the Amulet were the main focus of that game. Except in MKX some things were different thanks to Raiden meddling with the timeline prior to MK X but the overall plot was following the flow of MK4. Because of Raiden's actions throughout MK9/MK X. Kronika decided that she was just going to reset the entire timeline, as you guys understand it. So MK11 stands as it's own unique story and not a retelling of a previous game. The interesting thing about MK1 (2023) that people who didn't experience the 3D era of MK games would not have noticed is that it is a VERY condensed retelling of the events of (Deadly Alliance / Deception / Armageddon). For example, we see the "Deadly Alliance" form near the beginning of MK1. The "Deception" retelling comes from Shang Tsung being deceived into helping his Titan counterpart revive the Dragon King army. "Armageddon" is pretty much the final battle atop the Pyramid, only this time in Liu Kang's new era every combatant is from a different timeline. Now that the MK games have all been retold in a unique way, anything that comes after MK1 will continue as it's own thing. Chaos Realm and Order Realm were introduced to us in the 3D Era games, along with Havok, Nitara, Ashrah and Darius and many other characters who hail from those Realms. But we don't exactly know much about them. So the next games will hopefully take us there. | Side note. Technically MK vs DC is considered MK8. So they could reimagine that story if NetherRealm wanted to. They could possibly make it canon thanks to the multiple timelines thing since they left that door open. Personally I'd like it as it's own thing because the MK-Verse is crazy enough as is
Regarding Shinnok in MK1: In Liu Kangs New Era, Shinnok is powerless. If he started out as an Elder God, he probably got depowered after betraying his fellow gods. In Sindel's chapter, Liu Kang and Geras mention, Shinnok's Amulet (in Shao's possession) shouldn't exist as it's creator is powerless. Regarding Shang Tsungs MK11: Aftermath ending: Shang Tsung wasn't known for being a mind control sorcerer, so I think he rebooted his timeline and made himself the top dog above all gods, which is why Raiden and Fujin are his compliant minions.
19:40 Yep, Onaga himself! Before Shao Khan ruled Outworld, Onaga did. He's actually more powerful than him. Shao was a god of Outworld and an advisor to Onaga. However, he became greedy, power hungry, and poisoned Onaga and took the throne for himself. That's when he started to conquer and merge the Realms to Outworld.
Have you ever considered reacting to some Death Battle episodes… There are some cool episodes out there like Superman VS Goku, Thor Vs Vegeta, Popoyes vs Saitama & many more… I think you would like them
I think Shang tsung was in like his version of the elder gods palace where they’re all giant, like cetrion was, but she became smaller on the mortal plane
So just to explain Onaga, he was the first recorded ruler of OutWorld, presumably the last living dragon. Known as a relative firm but fair ruler he wasn’t into conquering but gaining immortality. Having mastered soul magic he created his dragon army. His royal advisor, Shao Kahn had wanted to conquer the realms for some time but was held at bay by Onaga. Shao Kahn betrayed Onaga and poisoned him. With the death of the dragon king Shao Kahn took his place as ruler of OutWorld and began his conquest.
*MK1 Theory* : *Titan Havik* killed off *Fujin* when *Titan Shang Tsung* went to conquer *Chaosrealm* so *Raiden* went back only to be used as a jobber for the attempt to conquer *Fire God Liu Kangs* timeline
The one MK video you should definitely watch is "What happens when you PUNCH Mokap?" by BruskPoet. Probably not for a reaction video, because that one is only 19 seconds long, but trust me, it's worth every second 🤣
Dark Raiden in Shang Tsung’s ending is not the same Raiden from the MK11 main story. Shang Tsung rebuilt the universe from scratch and created a new Raiden that was subservient to him. Shinnok and Cetrion were the children of Kronica. So in the new era, no Kronica, no Shinnok.

Yes 🤣 watch the storymode for all three games! Deadly Alliance, Deception and Armageddon!
11:24 Yep! It was so cool that Mortal Kombat 1 brought this back! 💪
I think Raiden's voice in Deadly Alliance sounds like the actor who played the 2nd Raiden in Annihilation, named James Remar. At least somewhat.
20:05 The Deception cutscene still looks goof as fuck with Shang and Raiden coming back. Like, WHAT?!!! Not even another episode, but the same damn fight scene.
25:57 That's Darius, the kameo in Mortal Kombat 1.
Watch the komplete history of Mortal Kombat by MK Temple. All questions will be answered. BTW, mysterious voice was Shujinko.
Shang tung looks giant because he is a titan in his realm
21:55 Yeah, Armageddon was technically supposed to be the last Mortal Kombat game. So they were going full throttled
28:08 The man on the left of Shang Tsung was Shujinko. The main protagonist of Mortal Kombat: Deception
Onaga's backstory:The original ruler of Outworld poisoned by Shao Kahn who took his throne. He has an immortal army under his command and is one of the most powerful villains ever.
Also that guy in the deception intro at the end is shujinko which you'll see in the story mode
Shao Khan wasn't meant to come off as a giant. That was your thought process.
Thank you for the recommendations, Jaby's sister!!
I suggest watching all the konquest cutscenes for mk deception and Armegeddon konquest is basically the story mode for those games if you decide to make sure to start with deception armegeddon is last
25:00 Of course, Scorpion & Sub-Zero always have to fight each other in the Mortal Kombat series! 😂💪
34:16 He's mentioned in MK 1 by Geres. He's basically powerless now in the new universe
24:53 The woman who got stabbed, that was Li Mei from MK 1.
28:48 That is Argus! The god and protector of Ediena! He's also Rain's father.
8:25 😂
But hey, that would be pretty cool!
17:48 They kind of recreated this scene in MK 11: Aftermath, where Nightwolf's revenant was frying Shang Tsung's face and he had take his soul to heal and recharge
That shit was funny as hell lol Jaby said if you still see this we are still alive
You guys definitely react to gamology where they interviewed Noah doing mo-cap for MK1.
🙏🏽💪
Deception is one of my favourite games on the PSP. It’s an RPG.
Former emperor of Outworld, the Dragon King: Unagi
18:19 I asked the same exact question when I saw this scene as a kid! I was speechless 😭 😂
21:38 Oh I can see it now 💪
26:12 This scene with Striker never gets old 😂
😂😂😂😂
17:15 My man Raiden! 🙏🏽💪
30:10 They kind of do. Also, one of the brother's names you might recognize from Kenshi's MKX ending. Daegon from the Red Dragon clan
2:34 Right! 😂
20:09 Right! 😂💪
12:14 Yikes! Maybe though 😂💪
Well this is unexpected! But welcome nonetheless!
10:12 Understandable. 🙏🏽💪
I would like to see you both watch all of the mk from Deadly Alliance to Armageddon! I think it would be really cool!
If you want to see more about Kenshi, and more of the elseworld concepts in MK11 and MK1, Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind is perfect. Also in my opinion the best MK Movie period
Y'all should definitely react to the endings of Deadly Alliance, Deception and Armageddon
That would be awesome
That would be great! 🙏🏽💪
27:19 Onaga getting his revenge! 💪
YES to all the ps2 games. I love those stories
Personally I'd like it as it's own thing because the MK-Verse is crazy enough as is
🙏🏽💪
Definitely do Deception and Armageddon's story modes
26:17 I just realized, Kabal couldn't have easily ran passed Stryker by keeping his distance! Bless him 🤦♂️😂
Regarding Shinnok in MK1: In Liu Kangs New Era, Shinnok is powerless. If he started out as an Elder God, he probably got depowered after betraying his fellow gods. In Sindel's chapter, Liu Kang and Geras mention, Shinnok's Amulet (in Shao's possession) shouldn't exist as it's creator is powerless.
Regarding Shang Tsungs MK11: Aftermath ending:
Shang Tsung wasn't known for being a mind control sorcerer, so I think he rebooted his timeline and made himself the top dog above all gods, which is why Raiden and Fujin are his compliant minions.
23:10 Yeah, the undead army are only loyal to Onaga so it makes sense lol
Have you ever considered reacting to some Death Battle episodes… There are some cool episodes out there like Superman VS Goku, Thor Vs Vegeta, Popoyes vs Saitama & many more…
I think you would like them
They should’ve brought Cary back as Shang altogether. Both of them.
It might have been too expensive at the time. Or there could have been conflicts with scheduling.
25:10 Right! 😂💪
*MK1 Theory* : *Titan Havik* killed off *Fujin* when *Titan Shang Tsung* went to conquer *Chaosrealm* so *Raiden* went back only to be used as a jobber for the attempt to conquer *Fire God Liu Kangs* timeline
👀
The one MK video you should definitely watch is "What happens when you PUNCH Mokap?" by BruskPoet. Probably not for a reaction video, because that one is only 19 seconds long, but trust me, it's worth every second 🤣
Onaga is the most peak boss of the original timeline also his arcade ending he becomes the one being
Dark Raiden in Shang Tsung’s ending is not the same Raiden from the MK11 main story. Shang Tsung rebuilt the universe from scratch and created a new Raiden that was subservient to him.
Shinnok and Cetrion were the children of Kronica. So in the new era, no Kronica, no Shinnok.
not ture liu said he de pwoer sinnok amult meand shinnok ecxsts
@@ssjgotenks2009they said the creator of the amulet is powerless in the new ere, non-existence seems pretty powerless to me :)
I should react Mortal Kombat Armageddon Konquest which is really good 👍, it's how Armageddon started
And in mk armageddon the last person shang tsung hit on the pyramid that was also shujinko
4:19 Yikes! 😂
31:30 Amen! 😂💪
You guys need to react to the full Mortal Kombat timeline to understand everything.
Watch Here 👇

27:40 This scene was both sad, but cool at the same time! 💪
To put in perspective of how powerful Onaga is, Shao Kahn had to poison him because he didn't want any part of a fight.
