For the DoorDash tip. I don't do delivery anymore but yes they see the tip beforehand. It's not that they treat you worse if there's no tip, it's the intelligent drivers don't take orders with no tip unless it's working towards their weekly bonus or surge zones. I do not get punished for declining trips so I'm extremely picky, I only have like a 10% acceptance rate. Tips make up less than 10% of my income, to address the argument that a lot of people tip afterwards if service was good. No they don't, 10% of them do if that. And any decent drivers that are good enough at the system to make money end up switching to doing Uber. If you want a decent delivery, pre-tip. If you want the kind of person handling your food that's fine with making $4 an hour, don't tip.
