Like not answering questions (just say "I'm not discussing my day."), refusing all search attempts is NOT causing trouble, it's exercising your constitutional rights. Stanford Law School also taught me that unless you are under 21 in California, you do NOT have to consent to a field sobriety test. Those tests are specifically designed to freak you over.

He and I grew up in New York State where it was illegal for regular citizens to set off fireworks until very recently. You can buy them out of state, but if you set them off, the cops will show up and give you a ticket. Only companies with permits could set them off legally. I think you still have to get a permit to set them off as a regular person, but it's easier to acquire and you won't get a ticket.
I am so thankful for this podcast, we drove 18 hours straight from our new home in North Dakota, all the way back home to Texas to visit my family for my parents anniversary, and listening and laughing at these helped to keep me awake on the drive. I appreciate how real you guys are, and how you bring light to topics people don't talk about enough. Thank you guys for all you do 💕

I'm a Chicagoan who happened to be on vacation in LA when that earthquake happened (the 2nd one). My husband and I were sitting in a traffic jam/ line for an In-n-Out on the Sunset Strip in our rented convertible, when we felt the earthquake - the most California experience possible! (PS being midwesterners, we didn't know what was happening - we thought something was wrong with our car at first, then somebody saw our confusion and yelled over, "it's an earthquake, man!") Also, I have Mousetrap... with all the pieces!
I genuinely enjoy these podcasts because they express more of there individual personalities and you really get to know them. Plus I love all the random jokes and Detours !

Yes Keith played 1313 Deadend Drive! I loved that game. It was about a bunch of heirs competing to get a dead millionaire's fortune and you had to try to get the other players out by getting them under traps like the chandelier. So glad I'm not the only one who remembers that game!
We had an earthquake a few years ago around where I live in nc and yes Keith our glasses clinked in the cabinets lol and the ceiling fans were turning on their own. Only one in my life and I will be happy not to repeat it lol.
the order when there is an earthquake is to run outside (if you can do it in under a minute) and if you can't go to the nearest staircase (it is part of the skeleton of the house, therefore, it is the strongest room in the building- it is also safer than the rest of your house when there is a missile attack) if neither is really an option for you do what ned says duck down and protect your head with your hands . whatever you do DO NOT go into an elevator or a basement unless you fell like buried alive you do you. if you are in a car stop it and wait (if you are on a bridge in a car drive away from it try to stay away from buildings and stuff that could bury you alive in the car if they fall).
