And thinking about training day steel do you know if the best buy with bullet holes is debossed on the Zavvi website it says their version is but IDK if they are different and might get the Zavvi box set I just don't like that the steelbook is the same as the box art just different color just lazy
Excited for Rocky collection, Training Day & Exorcist in 4K. Would be nice if WB also offered the Richard Donner Superman Trilogy in 4K containing Superman, Superman 2 "The Richard Donnar cut" and Bryan Singers sequel Superman Returns just like they offered on Bluray
I love a 4k set of superman but I want all versions...superman, superman special edition, superman 3hr director cut ,superman Donner edition, superman 3hr cut and then 3 and 4.
The Christopher Reeves movies mean a lot to me, regardless of how dumb 3 and 4 actually are. I have the DVD boxset with the tin box (the best boxset I have ever owned), the bluray boxset and the 3 hour TV cut of the first one on bluray. It would be great if this 4k boxset included all the longer TV cuts for the other 3 movies. That would be a certified day 1 purchase. But I have a feeling that this will have the same if not fewer special features. If that's the case I will wait a year or so the get this for like 40 euros or less. And I agree, OG art is best. You gotta give me some ridiculously inspired Alex Ross-level, Drew Struzan-inspired work to outdo what made me fall in love with the movie in the first place. I feel like The Exorcist and Eyes Wide Shut will be big titles for the 100 year anniversary. I can also see a mammoth Clint Eastwood set being put out, which is kinda hypocritical, seeing as how they basically nixed his unwritten 50+ year contract with them. Here’s what I’ll say now: if The Hitcher 4K set doesn’t dwarf the boxes for Drive and The Guest, I will be greatly disappointed. Have been waiting a very long time for training day on 4K. Those Zavvi sets are decent and affordable in my opinion. I’m a huge man on fire fan too so would love to see that soon on 4K. Great video as always friends.
It's a solid, breezy thriller... I always felt it played like an excellent TV movie (which Craven had done plenty). For myself, it's something I wouldn't mind owning but I don't think I'd purchase outright.
I preordered the Rocky Box set from Amazon. The 1st 4 movies on 4K along with the directors cut of Rocky 4 for 60 bucks is too good of a deal to pass up.
Let us know what kind of box set it is. Based on pictures, it looks like a pretty slim case. The original Rocky will be a no brainer pick up if the transfer is great.
My thoughts too, which is why I feel like this release is a bummer. We are all happy we are getting the 4Ks, but this doesn't feel like a celebration. Maybe we will luck out when the entire series is released.
@@Ringmaster138 Is the director's cut of IV better/worse? I am really interested in it but still haven't checked it out. The IV we all know plays like one big montage, so I'd imagine there were tons of scenes removed initially.

I had to get the Rocky set and Training day. I'm assuming Rocky V and Rocky Balboa will have a standalone 4k release like the others later in the year so I'll just buy those when the time comes.
If I didn't own them in a blu set already, I'd consider it more, but the original is all I need in 4K (for now). Especially when this set is incomplete and the artwork is trash... To add insult to injury, I live 10 minutes outside of Philly too lol.

I saw them all at the theatres and the only one I ever needed on physical is the original Rocky film. The other movies Wb can keep. Steelbook for that one for me.
I own a blu set of them all through Balboa, but it was only because of the 14.99 price it was down to and I still kept the special edition of the original. On a strictly entertainment level, the sequels are perfectly fine, but the original deserves a classy, respectable collector's edition.

I like Superman but I have 1 already and don’t remember caring for any others. 3 was fun for Pryor, but I know it isn’t a good movie. Not sure… maybe if the Superman set hits a good sale. $60’s worthwhile for 4 movies. Balboa won’t be included in the Rocky set because it was a Sony release…. Agreed that the artwork is hot garbage though.

The artwork is definitely bad, but are you picking up a stand alone of 3 only? Box set makes sense for the fans, singles seem weird because of how much the quality of this series deviates past the 1st. I'm definitely in for the 1st film, it just sucks we can't get studios to celebrate these films properly.

Yeah, I think the first film is the best of the series by far but the point made by the guy in the hoodie that says "support physical media" is that he won't be picking up the second Rocky because the artwork is bad, not because the quality of the film.

A box set makes the most sense, it just pisses me off that with a title like this we couldn't get something that represents the films better. For sure there is another, more complete box set coming down the line, so maybe we will get better packaging then. I support physical media with bad art all the time, but for titles where I'm on the fence, art can make or break it for me. I'll pick up 1 regardless of the bland art choice. Are you going box set or individual steels? You said the art is "fine", but don't you think this landmark series deserves better?

@4K_Kings Will do. My guess is that the box will be flimsy with the individual cases inside like the Dark Knight Trilogy 4k set.
