Rainham's Secret Artist Exhibition

Last night in Rainham was a very special art exhibition. Unlike most art exhibitions you may have been to, this one was full of artwork by local people who wouldn’t class themselves as artists.
The event which was supported by Havering Changing’s Creative People and Places Programme and Rainham Hall & Gardens, set out to uncover all the hidden and unknown creative and artistic people of Rainham. People who wouldn’t call themselves an ‘artist’ appeared out of the woodwork and submitted their artwork with the option to remain anonymous.
The project was organised by Babs Whwaites, a local artist with a passion for textiles and Charlotte from Blueskies Mindful Creatives who produced the project.
Babs said ‘The Secret Artist Exhibition has come together as a group of 40 creatives showcasing a diverse range of artworks. From printmaking, textiles, painting, sculpture to drawing and digital art, the exhibition provides an enlightening and warming experience.’
The free exhibition is at the Hayloft, (Rainham Hall & Garden, The Broadway, Rainham, RM13 9YN) and will be open to the public between 11AM-4PM Tuesday to Saturday up until the 27th of August.
