    Love this shot. Seems easier with a backhand than a forehand push.

    Love this shot. I was always trying to run around my backhand to hit the forehand until this video! Thanks for the explanation!

    I've been missing my backhand drops so I'll give the slice a try. Looks promising. Have you tried backspin on forehand drops?

      @@PickleballKitchenAnd, how does backspin on forehand drops compare?

    Where do you go with the ball when you're playing the other side (and hitting the backhand from the middle of the court)?

    • @PickleballKitchen
      @PickleballKitchen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Technically your partner should be using his forehand in the middle for that, but you can just go to the same spot.

    I love this shot and loved seeing your video about it. One thing I am working on more is moving my non paddle arm upward as I am hitting my backhand shots (moving my shoulder blades together as both arms move up). This has helped me with counterbalance.

    • @PickleballKitchen
      @PickleballKitchen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's interesting, thanks for the comment.

      ? Imagining your shoulder blades, are they moving together as in a modern tennis forehand? or apart as in a classic tennis backhand?

    • @aregee7121
      @aregee7121 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rob,I meant shoulder blades CLOSER as in a classic tennis backhand ( To counterbalance, moving arms in opposite directions)

    Is this the shot that Dave Weinbach hits? He seems to take a big cut at the ball. Course he has been hitting it a long time.

    • @PickleballKitchen
      @PickleballKitchen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Heh, you could look at it that way. It's more of a push than a cut, but you can certainly do that.

    I would love to see how easy this shot is at a normal return drive from the opponent.

    • @mikewallace3997

      Agreed. Most tutorials are addressing non-realistic returns and therefore of limited use.

      If you get a hard 2nd shot you don't necassraily want a 3rd shot drop. You want to drive it to try and catch them in the mid court. This shot is for a lazy 2nd shot that goes out to the left and your opponent comes in all the way.

  • @seazestyt
    @seazestyt 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    the only issue is the high looping is giving plenty of time to the opponent to get into the ball.

    What sort of return shot are you looking for in order to execute this short? Would you say that if the ball coming has a lot of spin or is super low and coming fast that you should try to not go for this shot? As always, thank you for the awesome video!

    • @PickleballKitchen
      @PickleballKitchen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can do this on any return really, but the softer, the better honestly. But it's also personal preference. You do have to do some experimenting.
