    Getting creative with the serve is so overlooked in Pickleball. It’s the only stroke you own completely and in a way as goes the serve, so do the rallies that follow. Any time that you can get an edge with the serve, you should be willing to do it. Reap the benefits of a weak or vulnerable return. Remember the return of serve is ideally deep so you get time to waltz up to the kitchen. Nice video, thx!

      Yes! It’s the only shot that isn’t a response from your opponent .

    I want to know how to hit those centerline shots back. They come down that line fast.

    Thank you for your tips and tricks. If you serve and the ball and it hits the center stripe is it bad or good depending on what side of stripe

      I usually consider balls on the center line in.

  • @JournaloftheScotts

    Center line is one I've done less recently because even when in or hits the line I've gotten a calls against it. Feel like people jump at the out call on those.

    I sometimes put a sideways slice to my serve which creates a lot of spin and often becomes difficult to return and sometimes impossible if I hit the upper corner just outside the kitchen.

    • @garyz5786
      @garyz5786 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fully agree. I am not keen on the centerline serve since there is not much margin. However varying the amount of slice (side spin) on a serve and keeping some deep but occasionally one soft and low can drive the receiver nuts : ' )

  • @paulnewton5849
    @paulnewton5849 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    A lob with no spin (or a little back spin) will mess up a returner who is expecting a rip serve - they try doing a soft return and it goes way short.

  • @zipzibton94

    kitchen corner serve should be done to the the back hand. If you serve to the forehand and they get to the ball they have a huge angle and you cannot get to the ball. Yes Yes if they get lucky 50% they get lucky

    • @garyz5786
      @garyz5786 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exception is if the receiver is standing back nearer to the center line. A topspin forehand serve to the corner kitchen on their right side court) will be very hard for them to get to. It's a smaller target but you can often 'ace' them.

    What is the pointof a center line serve unless you are serving to the receiver's backhand? Or is the center shot shorter to bring them forward?

    Wrong about the centerline. Just like a ball that lands on the center line is in; the same is true about a foot that is on the centerline extension yet not past it while serving, is good and part of the centerline extension. Here are the rules concerning it.
    4.L. Service Foot Faults. During the serve, when the ball is struck,
    the server’s feet shall:
    4.L.1. Not touch the area outside the imaginary extension
    of the sideline.
    4.L.2. Not touch the area on the wrong side of the
    imaginary extension of the centerline.
    4.L.3. Not touch the court, including the baseline.
