I went to the same school as Dustin. I also did shot put too as I was an 8th grader and he was a senior. Watching him was truly amazing, all of the hard work he put in to his shot put as well as in school makes him a great guy and a role model for many. Good Luck at Harvard Dustin!!
My best friend of more than 15 years, watched him throw in the rain, at night, in the morning. Non-stop training is the only thing that lead to his success, any pathetic loser can jump on TH-cam and put down a REAL ATHLETE but it takes a real man to respect that he pushed himself as far as he could go and succeed. Oh and he's a Harvard graduate........
We will never know whether he used or didnt use performance enhancing drugs or not. The best way to tell is to wait and see how well the collegiate progression pans out. Putter is right and most 70+ throwers in high school peak in college around the 55-60ft range.
i love his fucking reaction after he threw it. god so nice. i threw 48 today and i thought i was jesus. Brought back down to fucking earth.. amazing put.
Those numbers are more than enough to throw very far (well over 60) assuming you're explosive. Clean and snatch are the most important lifts for throwing, btw.
Trust me, it all evens out in college. The drug users never get an better, and the kids that are natural still progress. People that flip their ace card in high school don't make it far. People that can get to the 20m range naturally then flip their card are the ones that prosper.
I'm not saying anyone in particular used or didn't, just look at what these 70+ guys do in college. Plenty of them wash out at 55-57 with the 16 and quit after a few years.
you don't need a 450lb bench and 600lb squat. I personally have a 340 bench and 405 atg squat and have thrown 55ft with the 16 ( I'm 210lb, 6"2'). I also know of another thrower smaller than I am over 60 albeit not by much but he has even smaller weightroom stats . You need shotput strength and to me that comes from throwing alot frequently along with good technique not a big bench and squat
@Dscooter55 In that case, you come by your 70+ footer honestly. It usually takes a 450-500 bench and 600+ squat to put the 16 pounder 60 feet. You may get there as a frosh. Well done.
@Dscooter55 Well jesus, i went to a track camp at purdue university and the coach there, Coach Cas, from Zainseville was talking about how big he is but i didnt think he was a mammoth of a high schooler haha
well what kinda stuff did he give u. cuz im in 9th grade and i throw 49 so yea. and not all throwers take some artificial enhancements, i mean look at nick vena. he never took anything
They use steroids because it'll make them better, and make them more money by having a longer career. They make them better by recovering faster. Don't fall for the bs that they use them to recover from injuries faster. And it is just so they can hit, run or throw better.
They should have people that throw past 60ft tested for roids at every invitational/state/regional meet so the competition is fair for everyone. Steroid users make me sick.
Nothing but a cheater, who cheated other kids out of their hard work. A thief of sorts. I hope the heart attack hits sooner than later. He was on D-Bol, and he will have a considerably short life.
how can you call him a cheater? you have no idea whether or not he was on steroids. and no matter how much you say he was doesn't always make it true. Belive it or not, there are people out there that actually work to get places, and i'm going to go out on a limb and say that you're probably 40 something and got kicked off of the track team in highschool because you sucked. Just because someone throws far doesn't make them cheaters lol

Damn how strong was that guy, looks like a unit
The scream he makes after his throw is pure victory
congrats again brode, this is truly amazing

As of recently, high school throwers who threw 70+ are definitely peaking more than that in college.
top athletes take them. and they work hard enough to beat out most people with out them anyway. on those who are truly committed will even do it
Matt Jones fuq u
this was soo kool to watch everyone went nuts
that guys in high school?
i love his fucking reaction after he threw it. god so nice. i threw 48 today and i thought i was jesus. Brought back down to fucking earth.. amazing put.
good lookin kid in the red right there lol

EndlersaurusRex bench helps a lot too

Based on the lifting numbers, I doubt Crouser and Vena did.
EndlersaurusRex yea, crouser was fairly weak for throwing so far
I'm not saying anyone in particular used or didn't, just look at what these 70+ guys do in college. Plenty of them wash out at 55-57 with the 16 and quit after a few years.
puttter some don't look at Ryan Crouser
I would hate to be the kid that had to throw right after..Great toss.. What kind of numbers to you put up in the weight room?
I am not Dustin Brode sir. I was just at this meet and I taped him throwing.
He is NOT A DRUGGIE and that is it :-/
@jacobschroederXC yeah....but he was using a 16 lb shot put so it didn't count.
you realize it isnt' dustin brode talking in the comments above lol?

that's jimmie pacifico
hey im a thrower too threw 174 discus 1.6 and 50 with the shot 12lbs how tall are you and how much do you weigh and how did you get so strong?
@Dscooter55 In that case, you come by your 70+ footer honestly. It usually takes a 450-500 bench and 600+ squat to put the 16 pounder 60 feet. You may get there as a frosh. Well done.
Old Thrower he has a 520 bench and its a 12 lb shot
Tim Marshall no way, fool had to be roided
Yea but it's not fair to that former record holder in Ohio (assuming he reached it naturally).
I was just messing with you kind sir.
Why is this guy more muscular in high school than in college? Watch as in college his body gets smaller. Wonder why? Great thrower thou.
@CodyTitans Hey congrats to you too......you weren't far behind him!
@zachman38 I am Dustin. I can only bench 350 and squat 585. Believe it.
@The91jesus Hey, you realize this isnt Dustin Brodes channel? haha your talking to a random thrower not Dustin.
Well then y are you like "I'm friends with all the other good throwers and trust me they did the same stuff I do." if you aren't him?
is that with the 16 lbs ???
Ahmed Hassan It's a high school shot put,only 12 lbs.
Jordan Shaw you say only like its not heavy
@Dscooter55 Well jesus, i went to a track camp at purdue university and the coach there, Coach Cas, from Zainseville was talking about how big he is but i didnt think he was a mammoth of a high schooler haha
Yeah....it happens more than you'd think in high school....they don't do any drug testing...so there's really nothing wrong with it.
well what kinda stuff did he give u. cuz im in 9th grade and i throw 49 so yea. and not all throwers take some artificial enhancements, i mean look at nick vena. he never took anything
What kind of thrower was he at Harvard?
how tall are you?
this isnt his channel, it is someone else who uploaded the video and said he was juicing.
@williamwinterhaven Yeah I know haha....he knew his record was gonna be broken
@zachman38 I Bench 520.......But I can parallel squat upwards of 800 lbs
@MrThrowfar kinda figured that haha

@Dscooter55 this isnt even dustin brodes channel how could you know that lol i threw with him and thats not what he does.
@LoafingGazelle123 haha yeah....another guy got 68 though....everyone else was like 12 feet behind them both ha
@bsktbllrmo Yeah.....my coach made me.....it really helped with my footwork and speed in the ring.
@PassRusher74 nope...soccer.
Dang I'm only 5'7 lol
But I can hit barely 43 with a 150 bench
is this "Stuff" marijuana?hahahaha
@Rjrussell93 yes sir
You are not Dustin Brode, stop saying this stuff before someone innocent gets in trouble.
They should have people that throw past 60ft tested for roids at every invitational/state/regional meet so the competition is fair for everyone. Steroid users make me sick.
lmfao.
@LoafingGazelle123
haha ya man ohio is beast
Drug-free.......................Yeah right:(

I've got more State Championships than that cheater ever will. I did it all natural too, pure heart and determination.
And most people get bigger in college, not smaller like him. The guy juiced son, get over it.
+cmo9781 right but here's the thing, steroids dosent improve your form lol
+cory beckmann No one is questioning his form, it is perfect form. But you take a 170lb kid with the same form and.........
