really goodneighbor is one of the best communities in the game, it just gets a bad rep around the commonwealth. it has a strong unified people and no judgement. diamond has a bunch of self-rightious assholes like the ones that killed all the ghouls just because mayor mcdonough said to. goodneighbor doesnt judge and doesnt care, i would rather live in a place where everyone is cool with each other rather than having hostilities.

Goodneighbor is the best, right at the beginning, that scene with Finn and Hancock was perfect, and then it gets even better with all awesome characters we get to meet there like KL-E-O, Daisy, Kent, Vault-Tech Rep, Magnolia, Whitechapel Charlie, and of course Hancock and MacCready. It even has the best quest, Silver Shroud!

I'll never understand the disdain for this town. You can be torn limb from limb by super mutants almost any where across the common wealth, but good neighbor is bad because people do drugs there?
Goodneighbor's honestly a great place compared to Diamond City due to McDonough and the only companion who complains about it is Hancock so what is the logic here with the companions at Goodneighbor?
Well several reasons, it was founded by criminals who fled diamond city so thats not really good for your reputation, and its filled with outcasts from drug addicts to ghouls to criminals etc. and it's freedom>law so it isn't very safe compared to DC
I'd rather deal with criminals with human strength than monsters that can't be talked down. :P
+BlahStudios2 Most settlers would just stay within town, you're the player, so you're basically God and can go anywhere. As a settler, you would want to live in Diamond City because they have guards there to protect you, clean water, electricity, shows, food, newspaper, free school. Good Neighbor has a lot of crimes going on, no people to protect you, drugs, thief, all the stuffs being stolen are sold there, Hell, Hancock killed someone right in front of you.

@Voji Maybe Diamond City has got some talented propagandists on their payroll? Propaganda and reality may sometimes differ. Those who are well off and as little informed as you could expect from post apocalyptic world (most certainly Diamond City has no alternative media, even less the wasteland out there) tend to believe propaganda more easily than those who have seen worse than Goodneighbor.

I love that Curie is one of the smartest things in history yet it’s hilarious that she thinks everything is pre-war.
I really don't get any of the negative comments on Goodneighbor (barring Codsworth). Goodneighbor is, in my opinion, the best community in the Wasteland except for maybe Vault City and Jacobstown.
The people are a unit, they govern themselves, and do so in a way where everyone and everything is accepted. In Diamond City they kill you just for being a Ghoul, Far Harbor is overrun with radiation, Megaton is literally built around a bomb, and even New Vegas, as fortified as it is, is surrounded by Freeside, run by a tyrant, and permits cannibalism openly.
What's the problem with Goodneighbor?
It's a little dirty and Chems run rampant. So?? No one's subject to hate crimes and you don't have to worry about Super Mutants or Deathclaws tearing you to shreds. And if you were a Supermutant or a Deathclaw who wanted to live the civilized life, then Goodneighbor might be the only place that accepts you.
