    Many has asked the question... How does the bike hold up long term? I challenge you to watch my most recent torture test video! There you will see the Apollo undergo a burnout from the start of the brand new tire and until it pops and then I hold it at redline for over 3 minutes. The bike was already crippled going into this test because my brother-in-law had bent the output shaft which tore up the gears in the transmission which sent metal shavings throughout the engine and caused a loss of second and fourth gear. The bike still survived this torture test 🤯🤯🤯 It may not be the most powerful or the most comfortable, but it definitely is reliable for some fun at an affordable price!

    My favorite part of this video is how much fun this dude genuinely had riding this bike. I was already sold on the price and availability but after seeing this guy rip and have a good time I am committed to purchasing. Nice video, thank you.

    I bought this bike for my son for Xmas 2019. He has only been able to ride it twice, but he is loving it! We don't have much money and the $800 set me back quite a bit, but man this bike is cool. We're in a cold part of the US and were planning on our yearly trips to the Wyoming Rockies over the summer to really test it out on the trails. That won't be happening now so I'm enjoying watching these vids. He gets to go out and fire it up once in a while but can only ride up and down our street. Can't wait to see him ripping it up at some point.

    • @davide4589
      @davide4589 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@LilConney it's actually going great! We've had two trips up the mountain and he was riding the trails non stop. There is an issue with the carb just dumping fuel. I bought the mikuni carb vm22 that was suggested at the same time I bought the bike. We put it on and it wouldn't start so we pulled it and put the stock carb back on. After checking it out there was no gas in the carb so thinking it was an adjustment screw. I don't know much about it but am mechanically inclined so I'll figure it out this week. We have a week trip planned up the mountain so he'll get some real riding time. I'll let you know how it goes. As for now, I am extremely happy with it and so is my son. My in-laws were so impressed with it that they bought the hawk 250. After I assembled it we realized it's too tall for them to ride so they basically gave it to me. I'm having some issues with it though. I only got it assembled yesterday though so I'll hopefully get the issues figured out on that.

      Klicks - So it’s good for an adult to play around on? I’m 6ft also, and looking at getting one, so 1- I can teach my wife how to ride, and 2- so I can have something to trail ride with, and have a little fun. For less than a $1,000, you almost can’t go wrong!!! A 125 two stroke is way out of the budget right now, and I don’t think teaching someone on a 125 two stroke is ideal either.

      Klicks - Thanks for the info brother!!! She’s like 5’7, 5’8, so she should be good. I really want a 125 2stroke, but around my area South Jersey) they want $2,000+ for a bike that needs works, plastics, seat, whatever. I’m not paying that much, when I got to put that much more in it. Plus it might need a top end!!! Good luck when get the 250!!!

    I recently had someone mention that although this was a first impression ride, I already knew everything about the bike... This was a great question / statement as I encourage you guys to interact with me by commenting just as this individual did. First off, I don't know everything and I don't consider myself smarter than the average Joe 😂 But in this case I did know more about the bike then when it was first delivered by UPS. The video was getting too long and to keep it short as possible I didn't feel the need to explain that although this was the first impression / ride review I was already familiar with the bike as after the assembly I rode it around my property for a few minutes to ensure that everything was mechanically sound, therefore, giving me a sense of how the bike behaves. So far it's been great!!! Stay tuned for more Apollo videos!! 🤘

      Hi I'm new to bikes I've never ridden a bike and I'm 14. I wanted to know what are the key differences between a Chinese bike like this and a "real" bike. I also wanted to know is it's okay starting with a 125cc ? And how long do you think it's going to hold up as I don't want to buy a new bike every year or two. It's fine if it needs a few repairs and all but not major one. Thank you !

    So as many of you know I purchased this bike from www.powersportsmax.com at that time it was $650 plus $200 shipping. Due to popularity, this bike has since doubled in price and is nearly $1,200 at most places. However, after doing lots of research, I was able to find this site here, www.superiorpowersports.com/125cc_Dirt_Bike_p/ap125db-x15.htm?keyword=&gclid=CjwKCAjw5Kv7BRBSEiwAXGDElSaUgI-C3iVrQM2q2PiD0-yIm5ekcyp1vYNfGVrEOpLEl644sAdNpBoCYb0QAvD_BwE which has the bike listed at $1200 but is currently on sale for $779 plus $199 shipping. I'm simply putting this out there to help you guys find the cheapest bike possible. I do not represent the company nor am I sponsored by them.

    Cheapest place I could find my Apollo DB X15 dirtbike was Walmart. I ordered it online for $1114 6/2024, color green. It arrived on a crated, assembled in about 5 hrs but did some extra work with the sticky steering head bearings, lubed the clutch cable, etc. The Walmart order packing slip came from Dallas Power Sports but it shipped from Indianapolis IN. I feel it's worth the $ but I will be putting a nibbi PE22FL carb on it since the jetting on the factory carb is too lean and it runs poorly out of the box.

    I have the red and white DB x18 big wheel version. 17's in front. 14's rear and I love it. I've had it 2 years and the bike has held up very well (with routine maintenance). First thing you're gonna want to replace is that carb. It sucks. I originally went the vm22 Mikuni knock off route, but I didn't like that carb either so got the Nibbi 26mm PE racing carb, intake adapter, and filter. Holy crap did that make a difference! Really woke the bike up. She rips now. I also got a racing cdi which smoothed out the power band. This bike is fun for modding with othe after market parts too. I got the Nibbi throttle and cable (its like butter) red anodized JFG racing foot pegs, shifter, brake and clutch levers, Protaper grips and pad. I even painted the RFZ racing logo on the engine side covers, and replaced the seat cover. The bike looks and rides great!

    I have one of these bikes with the 17 front and 14 rear and it did a 30 mile trail that was hard and had a bunch of loose rocks with no problem but the only thing I suggest is getting a spoke tightener for those long trails and tightening them every five hours or so because I made the mistake of not doing this and I had to get an entirely new wheel because the spokes got loose and broke 😅 also I would suggest investing in some better brake and clutch handles because the ones on this bike break easily but overall this bike is sick and I would recommend it to any new rider that is just getting into it
    Btw my parents got this for me and I love it

    • @FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL
      @FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would definitely be a great beginner bike! Maintenance is relatively low being that it's not a high compression race engine. Always ensure the air filter is clean and change the oil every 6 months. Oil as per the manual is 10w-40. But be sure to buy motorcycle oil as the bike has a wet sump, which means the engine and transmission share the same oil. If you use automotive oil, which contains detergents, it will cause the clutch plates to wear out. Other than that your good to go! 👍

If it doesn't start with that method then try giving it just a little bit of throttle and kick it over several times and see how that goes for you.

    I've got the TaoTao DB17, basically has the same exact engine, but with bigger wheels and a lighter frame, and that thing is very peppy for a 125! For me, the stock carburetor was garbage (what do you expect from a $715 bike), but I swapped the stock carburetor out with a cheapo tune-able Mikuni, and that thing has insane get up and go power now! I'm able to pop a wheelie in 2nd, and even in 3rd gear! I've ridden a XR-100, and a TTR-125, and I have to say this bike will beat those in drag races, although the TTR may come back to doom it in 5th gear. As far as the exhaust, it sounds amazing! It sort of sounds like a motocross bike, but at the same time, sounds like a dual sport. My only complaint is that it doesn't have a rev limiter. I'm sure a 140cc stator kit, and a CDI will cover that though. Reason why is because I don't want to over rev the engine on accident. Other than that, I love it to death.

    I think my Venom Thunder 125CC is a rebadged Apolo RFZ 125. The certificate of origin listed the bike as being built by Apolo, The rear shock had a Velcro dust bag that said "RFZ" and the gear shift is sequential and NOT one down 2 up, and the choke is identical. There are a lot of cosmetic changes, they added daytime running light and the crank case covers are different. But I think at it's core it's almost the same bike. EDIT: Check your bike's breather tube for kinks, mine was sputtering out like yours but that was my issue.

      Hey. I bought a venom 125 last month in Canada. 1800$ delivered! Had to bleed back brake, fine tune carb idle, and tighten the chain cause they come shipped very loose. ( they do it because when bike is shipped they compress suspension to fit in crate) I absolutely love this bike. Been riding at the shop while the snow was on the ground but took it home yesterday. It is an Apollo but with upgrades. 34 inch seat , 17 inch front tire instead of 14. Front and rear disk brakes. And yes a normal shift pattern! I can’t afford a Japanese bike nor do I ride that hard so this thing is perfect.

      What’s it like, cause I’m thinking of making the final decision to make the purchase at the dealer in the next few days. Let me know what’s it like!?

    I have a 2021 apollo Rfz40, I put a 17 front sprocket on it, mikuni carb, 27.5 jet, 2 stage uni filter, and a racing cdi.... and it goes about 70mph...

      @@FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL it was under $120 for all the upgrades. Definitely worth it.

    how is the long term reliability factor on this bike? Yamaha and Honda bikes are more expensive for a reason -- their bikes have a long standing reliability history. I'd pay more just for durability and reliability.

      Mine is held up well! I know that the quality still isn't that of Yamaha or Honda but the biggest difference I noticed is that the Yamaha and Hondas have a little bit more power when you're speaking of the same size engine.

      If the chain wouldn't have popped off and bent the output shaft it would be doing well. It wasn't the fault of the bike that it did that but simply someone rode it whenever the chain was too loose.

    You did a good review on the bike I have seen them take a good beating but it is what it is.

    If you change the carburetor it will stop lagging. I changed the carb on mine and it starts on first kit and no more lagg.

    Ajust your fuel screw and it wont choke itself out like that when it's cold and it will be easier to have a set idol instead of tinkering with it every time you ride. those both go hand in hand tho. But you must set the fuel screw first and base your idol off that

      You're absolutely right and with my other bikes I have done that. But the Apollo comes with such a low-grade carburetor that it only has an idle screw not an air to fuel screw.
