    FYI: A correction for entire playthrough:
    “To know how much Max Health and Max Mana your Hero currently has, simply look at their starting Health and Mana and add the amount shown on the Level token at your current Level, ignoring all information from previous Levels.” - FAQ
    The final part of the statement is key in that you don’t add up all prior levels to determine max health and max mana. You ONLY take your character card and your current level to determine max health and max mana. This is very easy to miss!

    "Ten years have passed since the Lightbringers drove back the hordes of the Darkness and sealed the Portal from whence they came. The heroes thought their job done, but the newfound peace was never meant to last. Dangerous new Portals have suddenly opened up all across the land.     Love the MD2 videos--they are some of my favorite content I've seen on your channel!
    One minor observation--when the Rogue uses the toolkit to place a trap, it gets placed faceup (per the skill card text). Thus, you know when you place it exactly how much damage it will do. Also, if you use the cardboard tokens, you can keep track of which traps affect which figures: face down traps with unknown results affect only heroes, and face up traps with known results affect only enemies.

    Thanks for the quality MD2 content you've been producing! Wanted to mention that at 53:04 Feydra would get the exp point for the Imp's self-implosion Defense activation. You can find the rule at PG. 21 of the rulebook near the top: "NOTE: If an Enemy miniature is killed by an ability or effect that is not an Attack, the Hero who triggered it gains the experience. If no Hero triggered it, the players may choose a Hero to gain the experience."

    One quick correction that I saw as I'm watching this. When the wizard rolls a shadow result, he can play any ATTACK spell for free, which means any spell with the Attack trigger, not just any spell

      Also, I'm pretty sure the level tokens show the total for your increased HP and mana, they aren't added together. So at level three you would have +1 HP and +1 mana total, you don't add the +1 HP from level one

      @@stevekozlowski5963 Correct! This was put in the pinned comment and as the playthrough is filmed I can’t adjust this. It’s something a lot of people didn’t understand and it can make the game easier then intended! The clarification is on the last sentence of an answer in the FAQ which makes it very easy to miss!

    Around the 48 minute mark, Matrim activates his Dark Magic card. You applied the 3 damage to one enemy, but I believe that you should have applied it to two, further thinning the skeletal ranks.

    Ghoul card says it moves 3 zones then attack if possible but you moved it only 2.
    The ''if possible'' is for the attack, right?

    Really enjoying this play through! Excited to see how it ends. Maybe you fix this later as I’m only about halfway through but I thought the Ghoul moved 3 spaces.

      If there is a hero in line of sight move 3 towards the closest hero if you can't do the actions on the roaming monster cards they act like regular mobs try and attack if not move up to 2

      @@karstenjensen1310 That’s not what the card says. Second option is to move 3 toward the closest hero and attack if possible.

      @@wesg92 Currently due to no FAQ mention on this I’m playing it as the card is written. The ‘if possible’ has a comma before it which denotes that the entire previous line must be possible. It’s not specific to just the attack portion. If this is an error on CMON’s part then maybe a future FAQ will address it. In addition, thematically it would make sense that if the enemy is within 3 it would run after it and pounce too.

    Am I the only one that thinks it odd the rogue doesn't get "Slippery" by default as a perk? I mean, it seems like such an obvious mechanic from Zombicide that would have translated here. . .

      I think that due to a chunk of objectives being about getting to certain spots a slippery skill by default would be super overpowered. I’m glad they didn’t add it in as it makes you question whether you should take wound(s) to run away from enemies.

      @@RollingSolo Fair enough, but given it would be rogue exclusive it does give player agency over the difficulty. In Zombicide slippery was pretty damn OP but you could always choose a hero without it. There’s a reason why the KS exclusive kids fetch a high price online. 😉

    game looks great and plays pretty straightforward. what does Massive Darkness 2 do better than other dungeoncrawlers?

      Simplicity in terms of not bogging you down in countless tokens and insane math to determine combat resolves. Keeps the fun rolling without all the extra layers which can be nice in theory but often drag dungeon crawlers to a crawl.

    You are doing the health from leveling up wrong. The +1 Health you gain at level 3 is the same one you got at level 2. It does not stack until level 4 where you get +2 total health. Example, Mathrin max health he can get is 4 (Starting) + 2 (Total from leveling) = 6. It's not +1+1+2+2. When you level the new level replaces the previous level, if that makes sense.
    The same would apply to the mana.
    FROM THE FAQ:
    Q: How much Max Health and Mana do I gain during
    Level Up?
    A: The Level token is a reference for how much Max Health and Max
    Mana you have at each Level and it gets updated every time a Hero
    levels up. To know how much Max Health and Max Mana your Hero
    currently has, simply look at their starting Health and Mana and add
    the amount shown on the Level token at your current Level, ignoring
    all information from previous Levels

    Great play though I noticed that your leveling up wrong the extra health and mana per level are what your max should be they cleared that up in the FAQ if you have a starting health of 4 and a mana of 6 level two you would be at 5H and 6M level three you would still be at 5H but would add 1 mana so level three 5H and 7M. I played my first few games adding what it said on the card until the FAQ was released.

      The last sentence is the key as it states to ignore all previous levels. This I didn’t know! That really changes the difficulty. I believe many have missed this even after the FAQ being released.

    Think i backed this game because of your initial coverage and was also able to sell this game for a good $200 profit haha. The game is too light and repetitive for me. But great content.

      They’re a great design for miniatures. Make the most of the space on the tiles. They could design a different pattern which they did with Death May Die. They’ve actually explored a handful of different layouts.

    In the rules, it seems that traps are only triggered by heroes not by the enemies …

      My hero can create traps. So those traps do impact enemies otherwise that wouldn’t be much of an ability haha
