I have that same machine. It is a beast. One time I sewed through a wooden ruler accidentally. You could glue some cardstock to some fabric or fancy rice paper to take the covers up to the next level.
Try different needles. A universal needle may only go through 25, but I bet a leather or denim needle would go through more without breaking. Great idea, nice tutorial :-)
@@artzicrafts Yeah the key here is to use a "sharp", not a "universal" or "ball" head, and then perhaps try a medium gauge, working your way thicker if need be. Even though a leather needle is a well-intentioned idea, I'd try to find a workable solution with a standard sharp, before going full-on leather/denim, since the latter make large cuts and could lead to tear outs later on (the tips are more like a diagonal knife blade than a needle point).
OMG, I'm gonna try this when I get home. I'm always looking for notebooks with white sheets with no luck. They are so cute! Loving all your videos! Great work!
This is amazing! And I like rock, too 😊 Thank you so much as I’m looking into having my pages I buy on Etsy (64 pages on good) sewn by a commercial printer. This is exactly the kind of sewing I’m looking for.
This is brilliant! Plus it looks better than any other kind of book binding I have seen. Too bad I don't have access to a sewing machine 😕 P.S. I loved it that you show the broken needle 😂
Well that was just super cool and presented in a super cool way! Very entertaining and very informative. And inspiring! I want to go try that! I hope you can gloss over the one rude comment I noticed below. Sometimes people are having a bad day when they comment. No need to let it ruin yours. Hey! Can you share the brand of that tape you use? I have two kinds of double-sided tape that I use for maskmaking and leather, but I've never seen some quite like what you were using. I'd like to try it! Thanks for the great video! Have a dandy day!
Everything is perfect and I'm definitely going to try it. But, the next time do add a warning before the starting of deafening music. I was using In-ear plugs. 😞
What weight of cover stock and text paper are you using? What type of thread? Do you do anything to thread at the head and tail once you've trimmed those? I would have thought they'd unfurl.
The pedal! I just showed me turning the nob on that first one to show how the block was too thick for the machine to handle. I can sew up to 25 sheets using the foot pedal with no problem with my machine.
Hello thank you fo the helpful video! I wanted to ask if your sewing machine is a heavy duty sewing machine? Or if you think any sewing machine would work fine? Thank you
It's probably more about the needle than about the sewing machine. If the needle is too thin or weak it'll break like it happened here on the first try
It seemed like they were basically saying you can use a normal machine but crank it manually instead of with the pedal because you will break the needle
I'm just starting to look into how to sew notebooks so this is my first video, why do you sew it with the booklet closed and not flipped open and sewn in the middle?
Ah I see now, you do sew it flipped open but it's done at the outside of the cover and white paper is double folded at the outside. Is this done as perfect measurement to where the middle is? And , it seems that the white paper already has holes in it, did you sew through the middle before?
Any way the loud music can be turned off? Would much rather hear how the machine sounds when working and have verbal commentary about what is being done and why ..

I’d rather pay than to go through all these work! Thanks so much for sharing!! Beautiful work!

Thanks for the tip! I'll give it a try

Some of the best sound mixing I have ever heard!
This is exactly the solution I needed for a christmas gift project I'm working on. Thank you!
I'm glad it was helpful to you. Thanks Justin! :)
Which sewing machine did you use? @@artzicrafts
The universe guided me to this
Thank you
I am so glad I ran up on your site to make a notebook you are good I'm going to do this morning.😍/🙏
This is awesome. exactly what I was looking for. Imma try this when I get home
This is amazing! And I like rock, too 😊 Thank you so much as I’m looking into having my pages I buy on Etsy (64 pages on good) sewn by a commercial printer. This is exactly the kind of sewing I’m looking for.
Great tutorial. What size needle did you use?
I would have thought a saddle stitch like method would have been easier and better but if it gets it done it gets it done
The colors are so pretty! They look so cuteee
If only I had a sewing machine
Very cool! Thanks for the informative video.
This is brilliant! Plus it looks better than any other kind of book binding I have seen. Too bad I don't have access to a sewing machine 😕
P.S. I loved it that you show the broken needle 😂
Aww :( one day you will tho! It looks super cute right? Thanks!!!
amazing! can you please share the needle size and the type of thread? This video is the best out here!
That's neat!
That was very good! thank you. Any chance of getting the measurements for the box?
I wonder if for slightly thicker stacks dampening the spine area of the pages would help the needle penetrate the pages more easily.
I think it could help but you'd risk creating wrinkles on the paper
This crazy good!
SOOOO BUTEFOOL ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love the video but doesn't the thread come undone after you trim? How do you keep the loose ends in place?
I was wondering the same thing. I love the tutorial.
They stitch backwards at the beginning and the end of each notebook. Backstitiching locks the threads in place.
@@HarryLovesRuth they cut the ends though so no or not much backstitching left
I was wondering this too. Especially because of the trimming at the end 🤔
Wow! This is pretty innovative! Definitely trying this in the future!
Cool!! Thanks!! :)
Very interesting!, But how many sheets did the needle sew before breaking?
Well that was just super cool and presented in a super cool way! Very entertaining and very informative. And inspiring! I want to go try that!

Hi.. I wanna ask.. What type of paper gram is it? 90 gsm? 80? Or?
So neat
You've obviously practiced! Hot melt glue for the flaps?
Everything is perfect and I'm definitely going to try it. But, the next time do add a warning before the starting of deafening music.
I was using In-ear plugs. 😞
Hey! Good idea! So pretty!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I HAD THIS QUESTION FROM A LONG TIME WHETHER IT WAS POSIBLE OR NOT TO USE A SEWING MACHINE
Why do you need the one white sheet on top?
This is seriously so cute 💕⭐
Perfect❤️👏
So beautiful and so welldone!! I have a sewing machine! I'll do it for sure!
Omg. it pretty. thank you. I definitely will try after this. 😍😍😍
PS: Why I didn't think this before. 😂
Lol thanks :)
your my fav TH-camr
love you sweety

What needle should I use? I am having brother 101 machine.. can sum one help pls
Que fofo, é um bom presente 😍
where to buy sewing machine
Are you manually turning the knob to sew or are you using the foot pedal?
The pedal! I just showed me turning the nob on that first one to show how the block was too thick for the machine to handle. I can sew up to 25 sheets using the foot pedal with no problem with my machine.
Great video. Enjoyed this:)
Thank you :)
what is the size of the needle we can use to sew on notebooks?

What was it which you sew white paper in
Will the thread come off easily as you cut off the height of the book?
It will after some time. You can prevent that by starting and stopping the sewing before it reaches the ends.
These are amazing! What is the size of the paper before being cut?
I used A4 paper. Thanks :)
What are those two tools u used for scoring and folding while making the slipcase???
Btw ur all tutorials are cool :D
I believe they were using a bone folder. Hope that helped 😊
nice very nice
Divino cielo un beso y mi like
It's faster, safer and better to do it by hand.
great music!
Can u please give the measurements for the box ? Thanks!

NEEDLE GAUGE?
Nice video 😄
What kind of thread and needle use your sewing machine?
I’d like to know as well. Also what machine is this?
Qual é o seu outro canal?
O outro chama só artzi, são os mesmos vídeos em português.
Send the price of the machine
I’ve been wanting to do this but was told it will mess up the timing on machines to sew through that many sheets of paper
The machine used is a heavy duty machine. Check the specs on your machine before doing this.
What is price
Any way the loud music can be turned off? Would much rather hear how the machine sounds when working and have verbal commentary about what is being done and why ..
You call that a heavy duty machine???
Bagus
Hard to follow the slipcase folding even with 0,25 X
Skip the machine, and use an awl with a blunt needle and sew it by hand. It would be quicker.
Not if you have weak hands from arthritis.
when you cut off the head and tail of the books you destroyed your locking stitches.

Musica assordante. Passaggi velocissimi. Muto. Progetto interessante ma inutile per me editato in questo modo!
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Too fast
Loose the music!
Sofort ausgemacht, nervige Begleitmusik, furchtbar
I wish I could turn off that annoying music!
Lol you can, just mute your phone volume 😉
🙄
Here we go with the bang, bang, bang, nonsense. People actually think this is music. That banging racket is Satan’s music
Horrible music. You don't show needle size or stich lenghth.
What was it which you sew white paper in
it's also paper. it's a bit thicker and has colour :)
