Just came back from a 3 day trip to Hampton Beach. Most of this video from Great Boar's Head northward is almost 100% unchanged since this recording 12 years ago. And the view, still splendid.
@@Freewayjim Yeah, true for the most part. Hampton Beach itself has seen several changes over 12 years, like some bigger motel/hotels, the seashell stage next to the beach is new and some new business have replaced older (including that McDonalds at D Street now a seafood eatery). Still a great place to go, though.
True! It's been nice & cool for aug. here in Ga. Much cooler than last year! Abundant blackberries & muskadines! Thanks for a pleasant ride through "The Hamptons"!
Thank you! Originally from Mass. and my family had a place at North Beach where I spent a lot of happy summer (and occ. off-season) days. It was torn down years ago to make way for a mini-mansion, but it's nice to see that a lot more has survived.
hey yeah, now I liked that, I haven't driven there, close to there, but not there. So are you going to drive the Mt Washington road? huh? I've done that but my wife freaked out and wouldn't let me take video because she was worried we would go off the cliff.
This is great; I like your New York stuff the best so far, but this seems like a really peaceful drive. The music was fitting, and I really like overcast days like this.
It is. We're talking long delays on MA/NH Route 286 onto NH Route 1A, continuing up over the Hampton River Bridge. Those delays are amplified if the bridge is up to let fishing traffic in and out of the harbor. In addition, going the mile or so up Ocean Boulevard in Hampton Beach would take quite some time. If anyone is thinking of heading for Hampton Beach during a summer's weekend, the earlier the better. Try to make a break for the beach around midday and you will be sitting in traffic.
Great video, but I agree that it doesn't do that drive justice. I guess I didn't realize how much I look around on this drive. The houses on the left side of the road are awesome. The view of the ocean and the marshes on the other side of the road are beautiful. Still nice to see though. :)
You'd have to make that judgement by what you saw in the video, it's been almost 12 years since I drove this so I could not give you an accurate answer.
And I can attest to freewayjim's comment that the camera doesn't do the view justice. It is truly a beautiful view up Route 1A all the way from Hampton Beach to near Portsmouth. On a clear day, you can get a clear view of the Isle of Shoals. The weekend of the 12-13th was probably the best weekend for camera recording of the coast, with less haze present. But still a great video and great view nonetheless.
There are 16 miles of NH that borders the Atlantic Ocean, Any part of a state bordering an ocean or large body of water is considered a coastline. look at a map, it will all make perfect sense.
I guess if you go off the cliff the camera doesn't care where it is. I do have a tripod and ave used it on rare occasions, this would have been one of them lol.

Thanks for the update, good to know, but to be fair, things rarely change in New England, lol.

What a nice, chillin' ride, Jim. Great job as always!

How bad was this area impacted by Sandy and the Blizzard?

Are there any places to pull over and walk or enjoy the scenery?

Nice job matching music to movie. 5 stars!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks!

How do you guys make these videos? I would love to make some of some drives here in Ohio.
Thanks, please keep in mind the video footage is sped up...in this case 2.5 to 3x the normal speed.
@Freewayjim what is the New Hampshire Coast exactly can you please explain that to me thank you.
what's with these cars parked in the middle of the street- the median?
Ah, gotcha. Yes I love the road, wish I could get out there on it more often.
I don't understand your question? I think looking at a map might explain it, 16 miles of coastline.
I wanted to know what the New Hampshire Coastline was that is it in fact what is a coast.

loved it!

Thank you!
I love those American homes... so much better than our boring overpriced rowhouses...
Thanks Denny, No I did not get anywhere near Mt. Washington on this trip and honestly, I have no desire to film or drive that road :)
thank you for that compliment I really appreciate it and I will definitely look into a map.
I will get some film on that Rail Trestle in Tennessee next time I'm there
Thanks!
@Maskedman46 That's really cool, thanks for the factoids.
Thanks for watching!

Look like Long Beach island New Jersey
Those are actual parking places, gotta put them where you can.
Yeah :)
I will say though, Burlington VT on Lake Champlain is pretty nice but it's not the ocean.
Were beach in N.M for the bicycle weekend
No, I have not.
It is awful to get around this area on a weekend, I would not have even attempted it.
Slow Down
The video footage is sped up.
