- Good morrow! How met! I present to thee a medieval cover of "Zombie" in the style of bardcore. Liketh & subscribeth for more bardcore!
A medieval cover by Ars Insana. Original song by The Cranberries. Written by Dolores O'Riordan. Produced by Stephen Street. 1994.
Lyrics:
Another head hangeth lowly
Child is slowly taken
And the violence, causeth such silence
Who art we mistaken?
Yet thou see, 'tis not me
'Tis not mine family
In thy head, in thy head they art fighting
With their pikes, and their bows
And their bows, and their swords
In thy head, in thy head they art crying
In thy head, in thy head
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
What's in thy head, in thy head
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie, oh
Du, du, du, du
Du, du, du, du
Du, du, du, du
Du, du, du, du
Another mother's falling
Heart is taking o'er
When the violence causeth silence
We must be'est mistaken
'Tis the same olde theme
Since the fifth century
In thy head, in thy head, they art still fighting
With their pikes, and their bows
And their bows, and their swords
In thy head, in thy head they art dying
In thy head, in thy head
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
What's in thy head, in thy head
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh, ay, oh, ya ya - เพลง
With their h'rse and their carts and their arrows and their darts those gents art fighting.

Rev-e-nant, Rev-e-nant, REVENANT! 🎵
Historically accurate terminology right here. I was gonna post this.
Oh hell yeah! Cuz isn’t Zombie a Haitian word?
@@biancabrooks280 Originated in West Africa, but the modern spelling is from Haiti, yeah. Medieval and Renaissance sources from Europe refer to revenants as the undead corpses who haunt and devour their family members. Entirely physical beings, unlike ghosts.
@@thirteenfury how ghoulish!! 😎
In thine head! In thine head! Revenant!
I remember defending our lord’s castle wall in 1323 from the risen dead. The night before the bloodiest fray, our bards set this tune as we prepared our armaments for the battle to come. My fellow knights’ screams will never leave me.
My apologies good sir I a Nobel necromancer hath unleashed my undead hordes by accident
This bunch here deserves praise for their nowadays unheard-of impeccable grammar and writing skills, if nothing else. 👩🎓
Haha, let me offer you a story. Down by the halls of Ross Pirot I had to eat food just to stay alive. King Bolderdash got an unlucky deal in life and we all had to drink to stay hydrated. Then a lass nastied up our water supply and we all died like mangled cars hanging from a crain while singing about their life stories no one cares about and now we're all zombies.
A crown stoops sorrowfully
youths perish, taken without care,
blood washed, yet none dare speak
How hath we erred?
But take note, tis not my clan nor family,
In thy mind, in thy mind, they art fighting
With their horse, and their carts, and their arrows and darts
In thy mind, in thy mind, they art crying
In thy mind, in thy mind
Undead, undead, un-dead ead ead
What is in thy mind? in thy mind?
Undead, Undead, un-dead-ead-ead-ead, oh
[chorus]
for-sooooo-th
for-sooooo-th
for-sooooo-th
for-sooooo-th
Another mother's breaking
Heart is taking over
When the war causes no victory roar
Our side must have erred
Tis same old tapestry, since eleven-eleventy-three
In thy mind, in thy mind, they're still fighting
With their horse, and their carts, and their arrows and darts
In thy mind, in thy mind, they art dying.
In thy mind, in thy mind
Undead, undead, un-dead ead ead
What is in thy mind? in thy mind?
Undead, Undead, un-dead-ead-ead-ead, oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh, eh-eh-oh, ra-ra
I doth mine cap, sire 🤣
Thanks, I came back to check if anyone had done the lyrics! Nice work!
Binging all thine tubes! This is my fave! You it justice do. Delores would, me thinks approve.
The lyrics is so violent that you would think she is describing medieval times aside from the fact that she mentions tanks and guns...not much has changed.
War. War never changes.
The OG song is about the IRA in Ireland. Indeed not much has changed
Medieval times weren't as violent as today. Everything would've happened so slowly since engines and electricity didn't exist. As a soldier you were far more likely to die of disease before you even got to the battle and even at the battle you were far more likely to retreat and be captured than killed. It really would've just been more calm and depressing since everyone probably had at least one close relative that died from an illness. Also, people would've been more likely to survive violent encounters since weaponry of the time was far less lethal than today's
Of course you would then die from infection of the wounds.
The Medieval ages were far more violent than today.
More war and more suffering. More torture and more executions/violent justice.
And domestically? Oxford in the 1340s had a murder rate of 110 per 100,000 whereas in 2011 it was 1 per 100,000.
History isn't just random people's opinions, it comes from fact based analysis.
@@ThePedrodude there's many account's of people surviving their wounds. They were also aware of alcohol as a sterilizer.
You can't actually be certain of that because historical analysis is just speculation.
Prison is fairly violent today. Imagine all the violence it takes to cage a large population. It's just a system to torture those that disagree with a government's laws. Think of all things you're not actually allowed to do and places you're allowed to be. You're actually heavily restricted and controlled, if you dare break free of that then you will come to understand how violent this world is.
Just because more people died per person doesn't mean it was more violent. Also where's the evidence for that anyways? Like how would you even begin to know those numbers?
Actually history is exactly that. It's all speculation. People look to the past to justify the present. You can't even 100% trust your own memories, you think you can trust your speculation on thousand year old artifacts covered in dust and rust? Man, history is just a tool people use to justify the present and future they desire to see.
A beautiful tribute to
Dolores O'Riordan

She would love it i do
I remember Bad Wolves made a cover of this song after she died
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
@@SharkyPopTart iirc they meant to record it with Dolores but she died the day or a few days before they were gonna record.
@@ianaamdan Yeah, it's quite tragic. RIP Dolores, this song is amazing
With their trebuchets, and their oil. And their oil, and their crossbows. They are fighting...
In your heaaaad, in your heaaaaaaaad, Draugrs, Draugrs...
And there cannons
When the angry mob finally comes for you, after you give out herbs.
When you decided "enough is enough" and joined Robin Hood and his bands of merry men
Almost there.
kinda totally the opposite.
"they are crying..." R.I.P. Dolores ❤️ forever in our hearts 👏
This is what was being played during the plague in 1340s. Finally we found this masterpiece
Legends say this song was written after medieval knights had plundered a village and killed 2 children. The ancient melody was a call to the rulers' conscience, to end the war on humankind
Really loved this! In the memory of Dolores, may she never be forgotten!
I was a fan of Cranberries from early on.
I still miss her.
Nay, she shalt not be forgotten, thou noble sir.

And the King doth send his men upon foot and upon horse with their swords and their bows and their spears. So it hath been since 1316.

It was one of the few songs that I can play on the guitar and sing along with it at the same time. Such a beautiful song ❤️
as somebody from northern Ireland and loves bardcore this song is awsome
Where?Im in Holywood lol

why doesnt this have more views?
I think I have heard pretty much every version of this song from DnB to Metal, this one has to be the best one by far...
I literally love this song.
love this! Thank you! Added to my growing Bardcore playlist🥰
I think lyrics in old Ulster Gaelic might be appropriate. Get the_miracle_aligner on the case.
Would be a great idea, if anyone had a clear idea how the fuck to pronounce Old Irish. The phonology is pretty obscure.
Totally second this.

Lyrics in Latin (May not be accurate since I used Yandex Translate)

In caput tuum, in caput tuum
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
Quid est, in caput tuum? In caput tuum?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie-ie, o
Alius matris fractione
Cor accepto
Cum vim facit silentium
Oportet nos fallit,
Idem vetus argumentum, cum umpteen novem sedecim
In caput tuum, in caput tuum haerent adhuc pugnae
Cum eorum contritos, et eorum, bombs, et eorum, bombs, et eorum tormenta
In caput tuum, in caput tuum moriens
In caput tuum, in caput tuum
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
Quid est, in caput tuum? In caput tuum?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie-ie, o
O-o-o-o-o-o-o eh-eh-o, ra-ra
Okay so interesting note but medieval europe had there own version of zombies called reverences (I spelled that wrong) they where usually undead soldiers who where killed on the battlefield in a un-honorary manor (like getting stabled in the back) they would come to life to kill they're murderers, so a medieval version of this song would probably say there name instead of zombie and it would fit because the song is about war.
None of this important just some trivia I'm dropping while I'm hafe asleep.
@@ladylucifer5044 Poggers!
You mean revenants?
I would have thought Gaelic would have been more appropriate given the original singer is Irish
Common people, smash that like button the likes are ridiculously low.
Is that common people or come on people? Maybe we're too exceptional to be common.

i think you cant convert the songtext into another version given what it's about. and you shouldn't.
a super overdone cover, id rather hilde focus on upbeat songs, personally.
I've heard it sung in Irish (I believe). That version would go really well with this arrangement while still being respectful to the original content being discussed.
This goes to the heart
this is incredible!
Love that V chord substitute! I use this as a play along with my 7th grade guitar ensemble.
I was searching for it..😊😊
Es muy bueno!

"With their bows, 'n' their swords, they are Arselings!!"
RIP and thanks.
Yeah, she nearly knocked me over in Grafton Street once in 1994. At some point the same summer I stood in Windmill Lane listening to them play this. It was a weird place. Modern office buildings on one side, then this kinda half broken wall on the other. It had an open outdoor kinda stage for rehearsing, appparently. It was funny, this oldish local dude Dub (yeah he was probably the age I am now lmao) was standing around there talking about "Skinhead O'Connor"... He didn't know the Cranberries when he heard them. Omg. 🤦

"It's the same old theme, since fourteen-sixteen*,
