Marching and running as a platoon or company, to cadence, is something that I miss from my days in the Army. You'd be surprised at how far you can march or run, when you're calling cadence. Great memories.
I agree. I miss the cadences. I think it helps you push harder because it reminds you that every else is enduring the same suck as you. I also heard that cadences are written and called in such a way to pace and improve your breathing. Not sure how true that is, but I believe it.
God bless US Service men and women! I'm 60 now and one of my fondest childhood memories of my Mom singing all the marching cadence songs from her WW II Navy service time (WAVs) and the best was, "they say that in the Navy, the ____ was mighty fine...." . My Dad would join in, he served in the US Army in WW II. I'm very proud of them, RIP!
Airborne ranger got me! I remember that cadence well! Singing it in Afghan when my buddy got hit with an ied! The rage, proud of our brothers and sisters the best military in the world!
Yep...just you. When someone thanks me it reminds me that I made it home...alive! God bless our brothers & sisters that didn't but every one of us took that chance.
Just because the cadence has them sing it does not mean thats their unit. When I was in basic we used the same lyrics in a different unit not even attached to those divisions.
chris L yeah I know they are glorified pricks. And I'm so glad I joined the army instead of the Marines. That's why I said that lol US Army is better in my opinion

Very lame cadence, as evidenced by the fact that the Cadence caller is out of step with his unit, and half the soldiers are out of step. Calling cadence is fast becoming a lost art.
@@obamessiah looked like they were in step with one another? Either they were in step, or they weren't. They weren't. Perhaps you need to watch the video again? This time with your eyes open.

31Mike man I agree totally I miss that about the 82nd we would run and run but insert a cadence and it’s no longer a run, it became a party lol
I actually downloaded 2 CDs of running cadences to listen to when I'm "trying" to run. Both exes still tease me about it.

Is it just me but it upsets me when someone thanks me for my service. I tell them don't thank me thank my brothers that died. I miss the army.
I don't get mad, I just don't know what to say in return. I always end up saying thank you back to them but that sounds weird.

The lady at the end. She said "Bravo" I shot back, "That's not Bravo Company." heh oops.
Wait hold so is no one gonna say anything about them saying “United States Marine Corps” @0:38
They said "We're not the damn Marine Corps". It's a part of the cadence. Kind of a jab at the Marine Corps saying we actually like our jobs. lol
