Xenoblade Director Recruiting - What Does it Mean?
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 9 ก.พ. 2025
- Earlier in the month it was announced that Monolithsoft is doing another big recruitment drive. This in and of itself isn't a big deal, but the announcement also said that it's explicitly going to be a new RPG directed by Xeno series co-creator and executive director of the entire Xenoblade series, Tetsuya Takahashi. This has fans wondering at the possibilities of such a project, so let's do some speculation!

I’m sorry for your loss, man.
I'm sorry for your loss. May they rest in peace.
really sorry for your loss man :( hope you have a good night
Im sorry for your loss. 2025 will also be the 10 year anniversary of xenoblade x. Let's hope for at least a homage in the gameplay.
It will also be the 15th anniversary of the Xenoblade series as a whole. 👀
Oh boy they had something cooler in mind
I said this on the members-only video already, but once again I am really, truly sorry for your loss. I'm sure she was a wonderful person, and I hope she can rest in peace, and that we can build a future she'd be proud of, even if she can't be here to live in it with us. But, if there really is a collective unconscious, maybe she'll at least get to see it, or, at least, feel it, in some form.
That's what I like to believe about my Gramma, who passed a few years ago, near the end of the pandemic. There are so many, many things, so many moments in my life, that I wish she could see, but if her will is still out there, somewhere, maybe she knows anyway. I hope she's proud of me, wherever she is, as I hope your friend is proud of you, too. And in both cases, I believe they are. At least, I'd like to.
Sorry, I'm still coming to terms with the death of my own loved one, so perhaps my words aren't as comforting as I'd like them to be. Still, for the sake of the fallen, as you said yourself, we cannot but go on, and try to live lives they'd be proud of, honoring them with our existence. That's worth holding on for, if nothing else.
Rest in peace to Miel 🙏🏽 Her impact on the Xeno fandom will never be forgotten ❤️
I'm hoping for a new IP for Monolithsoft, but if we get a new Xeno game then I'll be very happy. I wonder what we'll get before that as their first Switch 2 game 🤔
I was in the same private discord server as Miel back when Xenoblade 2 released. It feels unreal that she's gone now. I was never that personal with her, and she had left for mental health reasons a year after she joined. It still sucks. May she rest in peace.
Damn, that's so f**king sad... sorry for your loss, Luxin. I was wondering why it took so long for the next video, but i didn't expect it to be THAT... 😢
I wonder what happened to her... 😔
She was sick. Don't know much more detail than that.
@@ShallBePurified Damnit! I can only imagine what sickness it had to have been to unalive her... damn. I feel even worse about this, now...
Good to have a new video! Hope you take the time to process everything with Miel and please don't overwork yourself!
this video is so full of hope, im very excited for the future, also seeing and hearing Tantal gameplay makes me want to replay XC2 again! Monolith Soft has earned all of my trust there are very few studios where i just immediately know a game is gonna be fun and good if it’s made by them, Monolith Soft, Platinum, and Fromsoft
i hope the next xeno game has fun game sections to break up the pace, that’s my gripe with the series
thank you for the kind words for miel
i'm looking forward to the video in her memory
Xeno is in need of a new Saga
Xenoblade saga. Now that the xc1 and xc2 have fused together , it is time for stories which the new earth faces threats from outerspace
@@PJDAltamirus0425 X already kinda did that.
finally continuing X
I knew miel back when I was active in the xeno community, hearing about her passing broke my heart, sorry for your loss Luxin
Sorry for your loss. She sounds like an intellectual, free thinker, and creator. Those are all incredibly rare qualities. Finding friends like those are once in a lifetime, and I’m happy to see her energy still echoing.
RIP to your friend. And stay strong for her memory, dude.
Condolences to you and those in the xeno circle that knew her
My condolences to the loss of your friend.
Miel was so wonderful in any piece of conversation I had with her. I can’t believe she’s gone. She’s done so much.
I'm sure your friend appreciates that you're still here, nerding out about Xeno hints and news.
Losing people can take its toll. I'll be rooting for you; rest up, and keep doing what you love to do.
So sorry for your loss. May she Rest In Peace.
RIP Karihana. I didn't have a chance to talk to her as often as I would have liked, but I was a huge fan of her stuff and always enjoyed whenever she'd post new artwork or discussions of the game's lore.
Condolences for your loss.
I'm kinda hoping that whatever comes next for Xenoblade, that they help with Bandai-Namco to release a Xenosaga remaster collection and market it as "if you're a Xenoblade fan, we made these games before, so check them out: you may get some clues as to where Xenoblade is going."
The unique style of Kunihiko Tanaka's art style is the one I associate as the true Xeno-art character style.
I can't wait for Monolith's brand new Xeno IP, *Xenogun*
This video only reinforces the fact that we will finally get x2. The switch 2 will be announced in 2025, which is the same year as Xenoblade X's 10 year anniversary, the xenoblade devs said in the past they wanted to return to xenoblade X at some point, and now is finally the time. I have been waiting 10 years for this moment.
What if Xenoblade 4 is actually a fully realized version of Xenoblade X? I feel like if X were to return, then it would make sense to pull it out of the spin-off designation that separates it from Xenoblade 1-3, and have it kickstart a new trilogy focused on connecting the Monado trilogy to Xenosaga and even Xenogears. It's an awkward change at first, but I think it would make sense from a marketing perspective.
I remember 10 years ago during E3 2014 when Nintendo Treehouse discussed how Xenoblade X would not just have references to Xenoblade 1, but to other Xeno games as well.
As someone who was only vaguely acquainted with Mael after interacting with her a dozen or so times on twitter, learning about her passing was heartbreaking-I can only imagine how much it must hurt for you and the rest of her friends. She was a damn good artist and very clearly an equally wonderful person, and her death is a massive loss for the Xeno fandom, if not for the whole world. May she rest peacefully.
How great would it be if we got X levels of art animations. I always liked how over the top and athletic they looked
3:16 "looking for people who have experience with western gaming trends"
Let's hope the ones hired for this are people who acknowledge what the trends actually are rather than what the western game industry desperately wants them to be
I'm sorry for your loss, and for the loss of such a notable person in the community. The fact you made this video in spite of that... I can't imagine the willpower i'd need to be able to do the amount of work necessary for a video while still processing such a loss.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you're doing OK and I wish the best for you. The Xeno community has truly lost one of it's greatest.
I like your choice of name for the possible X continuation! No particular reasons.
If they were allowed to drop the blade part of the name, they genuinely could get away with just calling the next arc Xenochronicles, paralleling the converging of ideas in Saga and Blade by fusing the two names together.
I'm guessing they'd just add a new subtitle. And for the english release, replace the "chronicles" with that new subtitle so that the names are the same in JP and EN.
I kind of forgot you existed 😅
So, Sorry for Your loss, May She Rest In Peace 🙏
Oh and Great Analyzed 👍
I only knew Miel for her fanart, which was always wonderful to see. I had no idea she was so much of an influence to folks like Luxin and the Xeno community as a whole, and seeing this only after her passing is very sad to me.
I am sorry for your loss Luxin, I hope you're doing well it's always tough lossing a loved one. 😢
My condolences goes to you and her family
X was initially meant for the launch year of the Wii U but... development hell happened, ig.
So I can definitely see them finalizing a X DE rn with an included FC to wrap things up (which may be additional chapters instead of a standalone story), finally releasing at a console's launch, and meanwhile start the actual production of its indirect sequel, a X II (yes, II specifically and not 2) a year or two later.
I can definitely see X II being something weird and hard to connect until they make "Xenoblade 11", happenning between X and X II, as it would be X I, but not once branded as being xenoblade 10, 12 and 11 because that would be confusing and off-puting. 11 could be like New Tokyo and connect the epilogue part of X, leading into X II somehow
I am sorry for your lose man!
I new Miel as we were in the same game art school and used to work on school projects togethers, and I have to say she was extremely kind and talented, very hard working and pationate even with the many heartbreaking personal issues she had on her side.
She was really appreciated by everyone for her kindness on top of being the most talented concept artist in our promotion and it was always so impressive to see everything she was capable to create.
It's terribly sad to hear this today :(((((((((((((((((((((((
hi, would you be willing to share any stories you have of her with me sometime? i'd love to hear them
I do recall karihana talking about health issues on twitter.... Man that explains a lot.
May she rest in peace.
And you honour her by just making this.
Take care luxin
17:32 the animator are probably for non action non important animations that we see in conversation and heart to hearts as said in a the art book i believe
My condolences
I think Monolith should keep the "Xenoblade" but change the "Chronicles"
This would be bad for the branding on the West because people would think that it's some sort of spin off from the main series.
Xenoblade Episode IV (copium)
@@QuanNguyen-yw3ftIf i see KOS MOS in a Nintendo Direct i will shit on my pants.
The "chronicles" only always in the west. In Japan it's just Xenoblade
It is just Xenoblade. For some reason it's also chronicles outside of Japan.
So so sorry for your loss.
I’m sorry for your loss
I appreciate that you called it "Xeno-something". Also, one thing about job postings: even if you post a job as being available outside the company there may be someone internally who they're already considering. Regardless they will post the job and even conduct interviews (of course the internal employee would also be interviewed).
Calling the Wii U "two Wiis strapped together" is crazy, it's a much MUCH bigger leap in technology than that
There is something that doesn't quite add up for the Action project, however. Even after posting advertisements for Zelda and Xeno DE/3, the recruitment proposals for the Action project remained active and were taken down only a few months ago. It also had a dedicated url as Special and then became Action, while Xeno's was under Production1 and Zelda Production2. In the past, no recruitment with sketches and drawings unrelated to traditional projects has lasted this long.
In really sorry for your loss luxin
R.I.P I´m really sorry 🥺
My condolences. The body may die, but never the soul. Which is merely passed on. Souls flow onward, born and reborn, forever part of the great ether stream. I hope you take whatever time you need to heal.
Sorry for your loss
well now I'm excited. Listening to my X soundtrack while frying up some breakfast. If that happens I'll be so happy.
I'm sorry for your loss.
Takahashi is cooking something big. And any good head chef needs more staff for the various positions of their kitchen. Time will tell how this dish turns out
I want shion and kos mos and all the others cool saga characrers back- as someone who likes xenoblade and xenosaga, i think saga is just definitely better
I am looking for to whatever they drop, for me every game they made has been a banger. One of very few studios i can trust in todays world
When you know Monolith Soft's average games are already more ambitious than most video game productions out there in term of lore, content, etc..., if they themselves say this next project is ambitious, that must be gargantuan! Probably something that could end up failing and be rushed like Xenosaga. Although Takahashi has learned from the past and the Xenoblade games have been amazing so I think it will be okay this time. Especially if they recruit more people and become a bigger studio. Monolith Soft deserves to do more games and to be more known given their hard work. It's hilarious at this point how Monolith Soft does everything Game Freak for Pokemon should.
placing down my summoning circle
The fact Xenoblade 2 still runs on the same system as Xenoblade 3 7 years later shocks me
I do hope they can make something else, though. The thing that would be worst is if they were chained to the Xenoblade series forever, as it would make them unable to try new stuff.
Even a bad game with original ideas can help backport them to the Xeno series, improving the Xeno series quality. But I hope we have a more action-oriented game from them, looking more to, if at least, the likes of DMC or Hi-Fi Rush (maybe they got some staff during the Tango vacuum of existence).
As far as i can tell almost all Xenoblade games are Open World Games , XCX is just a true Open World game after completing chapter 3 and XC1 and 3 are segmented open world games that require story progression to open up each segment after another. They arent disjointed , you can reach almost every spot without the need to skip travel. XC2 is a linear game with open segments tho , its disjointed and thats different , you cant reach many locations without using skip travel.
So what Takahashi is saying is that they want to make games that are whole and not a collection of disjointed mechanics that work independent of each other and dont fit with the other mechanics or themes ... aka he dosnt want to make a Bethesda game.
16:45 "maybe the fact is theyre going to work on multiple projects at once"
- Well if what the Radio broadcast in XC3FR is what i think it is , then yeah i guess they need enough people to work on a remake for all of it , Xenogears , Xenosaga and XCX remakes / reboots.
About changing the titles ...
Well until now it was Xenoblade Chronicles right , and im uncreative and bad at naming stuff , but what if the next game is just called Xenoblade Saga , Xenoblade Gears , Xenoblade Cross or something similar , you would instantly know what it will be from the title alone.
Instant buy, preorder. No matter what game its.🌚🌝
I really wish that it was a Xenosaga Remake or Xenoblade 4 with Saga Stuff being oficially canonized but i'm still skeptic regarding it, Takahashi likes to cross reference stuff without actually being it(Ex: That one character who is Fei on Xenosaga but that is not actually Fei).
I think that it's more likely that it's a Xenoblade Chronicles X port which will not only be a normal remaster but an overhaul of the game knowing how ambitious Tetsuya Takahashi is, adding more stuff, new story content and possibly canonizing it with the main series.
I hope it’s a XCX remaster so the story can continue. That cliffhanger ending still drives me nuts.
Takashai wrote a entire novel for Xenoblade X that never really came to pass with how that game ended and no sign of a sequel being made ever. I can see a remaster/remake of Xenoblade X with a bunch of new side content added or something akin to what Future Connected was being the most likely.
@@FirebunCEOYeah, i think that this is very likely but i wouldn't doubt of Tetsuya Takahashi getting overly ambitious with it and either making this FC epilogue something really huge or going further than a simple remaster and touching more on the base game's issues.
I have a pipe dream that they’re remaking Xenogears since last year Nintendo and Square collaborated on SMRPG
I'm sorry for your loss.
Yeah I don't expect Takahashi to work on anything but Xeno, but it's not like Xeno means he can only make a specific games so I'm sure now that they've wrapped up the Xenoblade trilogy they will be mixing things up for the next Xeno story arc. I'd also like them to get a definitive edition of X done too, but I think they should just finish the story in that rerelease instead of making that into a new trilogy. I think they should start off with a clean plate for the most part with the Switch 2 onwards.
The only thing that might not be a Xeno game that they're making is that rumored codenamed "Legacy" project. I don't know if this has been debunked though as it was from that leaker who got called out. Since it's got that codename I'd assume it's a Bandai Namco IP that they want them to work on, maybe Baten Kaitos, Project X Zone, or Super Robot Wars. Then again it could be a Bandai Namco property that they haven't worked on. I think the only series that fits them would be the .hack series which was sort of a sister JRPG series to Xenosaga back in the day and is very similar to the Xeno series in terms of it's approach to story telling and character writing.
Even then I think CyberConnect2 would want full control of any new entries in that series if they ever get Bandai to greenlight anything. So unless they're having trouble with the game's combat, the original 4 .hack games played a lot like an early prototype Xenoblade, I don't see them letting Bandai let Monolith work on that series.
Personally I would LOVE for them to make a new IP, but you will not see me cry and be upset for a new Xenoblade Chronicles 4 or X2.
I think it’s pretty likely the 2025 game will be Xenoblade Warriors. The worlds coming back together after 3 just makes too much sense, it writes itself. That could be a huge celebration of the trilogy and get all the fanservice out of the way before 4 (probably) reboots everything with a new cast. And I think Koei Tecmo has said they want to collab with more Nintendo franchises. Also, sorry for your loss Luxin. She did so much for the community 💔
XENOGREASE
Kunihito Tanaka is also known as CHOCO-sensei nowadays
I would say there is an argument for the case that Takahashi might want a break from Xenoblade since he has been working on it for so long and to freshen up with another title (XC3 while amazing, I felt some things about it felt a little bit tired and re hashed, a new 4K game project IP to get the team ready to make the next Xeno of utmost quality could fit the bill). Also I seem to remember there was an interview where he said he would like to step away from a super anime aestehtic and do something more western like. I think anything is possible in terms of speculating what the next Monolith Soft games will be, Xeno will of course continue at some point. But after Future Redeemed, I think Saga is one of the more important releases for players to get full context, whether its a full blown remake or just a remaster of the trilogy.
❤
Takahashi Xenoblade for sure.
What Honne does could bei interesting.
/hugs
People thinking that they're going to do a new IP just don't understand how making games works now a days. Gone are the days where any dev studio can just make whatever they want. Nintendo's green light is really specific and Monolith makes really big games.
Do you think we'll ever get a full fantasy game from Monolith?
I have a question for people does anyone think we could get a xenoblade 2 hd on switch 2 in a few years 2027 will be the 10 year anniversary. I would love for them to redo the maps in that game I don't know if it was just me but finding things on diffrent elevations was a nightmare, and fixing the tutorials and some descriptions.
I see no need for it given all the hints of the next console having BC
Switch 2 will have retrocompatibility.
even with BC, i can see a 2DE happening in the first few years of switch 2. unlike DE and 3, 2 suffers quite a bit from performance and QOL, so i can see a remaster on switch 2 with all DLC, improved graphics and QOL features.
@@superlagbro192 Then they can just patch the preformance issues through some update along with every other switcg game. There’s no need to pull some Sony level BS
she'll be missed
First off, just wanna say I'm sorry for your loss, Luxin. The Xeno community has lost a valued member, and she will never be forgotten...
...on a less serious note, does this mean that the Wii U is the Metagross of video game consoles?
(Yes, I know, bad comparison, but hearing "two GameCubes/Wiis stuck together" makes me think of Metagross)
15:09 Saito noooooooo!!
NOOOOO
I have no idea why he thinks they're straight up replacing Saito. They might be looking for someone to design secondary characters like they already did with Heroes in 3. Both XC2 and XC3 hired popular artists to work on Rare Blades and DLC Heroes and Saito was still the lead designer.
It’s quite obviously Xenosaga into Xenoblade 4 based on all the hints in the artbook. And the fact we haven’t seen a Xenosaga remaster in a direct means they have something much bigger planned. That’s my thought
Other than the Blue Meteor and the confirmation of it being Vector's logo was there anything else that hints at that?
In Xenosaga there is Abel and Nephilim who are clearly Fei and Elly respectively yet Gears is not canon to Xenosaga nor they are related as characters, i think that this is the same with the whole Dmtri Yuriev stuff and etc.
Although i REALLY wish to be wrong i beat Xenosaga 3 at the beggining of this month and i'd love to see a Xenosaga comeback through Xenoblade (considering that EP 4-6 was supposed to be KOS MOS in a new time with a different party and Xenosaga be a huge tale of KOS MOS across different ages, it's not too hard to have KOS MOS as a mysterious character that the protagonists find somewhere and later they bring up the Saga stuff, maybe even showing what was the Elsa Crew's Fate)
The only issue this could have is if Tetsuya Takahashi wishes or not to have a staying cast across the next games, because if KOS MOS happens to be on the next game would her arc get solved on it or would he find a new way to do something like XC2/XC1 split and later show things coming together on XC6?
If he was to make a staying cast, the mystery behind KOS MOS could be hold for multiple games and the new trillogy be about solving the heat death of the universe thread from Saga, again this brings up the issue of it NEEDING for them to re-release Saga or Remake it and a lot of deals with Bandai Namco.
I just wish for a Xenosaga comeback
@@renren47618 I think all the answers on Origin he avoided pretty much confirm the land of origin thing from Xenosaga. He also alluded to Noah’s character arc being like a Ubermensch which is a key concept in Nietzsche which is what inspired Xenosaga. We know that Takahashi and co refused to comment on the radio other than saying the logo on it is a certain something. I mean maybe I’m wrong but these seem to be living up for hints to the future just like future redeemed was telling us. I don’t know if there is a greater plan to remaster Xenosaga first with Namco and Monolith but one thing is for sure that Xenoblade 4 will have some Xenosaga stuff in it and possibly even connect the original trilogy towards the end of it.
When they announce Xenoblade Saga (the remake of Xenosaga) and are like "Yeah this is a new ip clearly see it's not Chronicles"
it would be cool if nintendo or monilithsoft buys the ownership rights of xenosaga from bandai namco and then the next game is called xenosaga 4 as a direct continuation of both saga 3 and chronicles 3
Xeno needs to return back to its roots with a Xenogears Remake!! 😁👍
PLEASE I BEG OF YOU, Square, Nintendo, and Monolith! If you give us a Gears Remake, then my SOUL IS YOURS!!!! 😭😭😭😭
Welp,
how am i supposed to eat now :(
o7 Queen, you will be missed
Bro no, the Wii U isn't two Wiis, that's incredibly wrong.
There was an enormous leap between Wii and Wii U.
I know you were exaggerating, but your point doesn't stand, the leap between those two was huge.
Anyway I don't think their challenge is going to be higher quality assets, even many indi studios are able to do that. The real challenge is higher quality animation, and more dynamic animation.
Outside cutscenes, Monolith Soft games have very primitive animations in many places, and it forces them into specific gameplay styles and scenarios. I think, and hope, this is what they're trying to graduate from :)
XenoRex the power of protein.
Tbh, I can imagine would a sound plan b for the family finances, Rex pitching Protien supplements and viagra…. Niagra given Nia’s growth and healing powers . XD
This’ll be interesting.
do you have evidence for the new game not being a new IP that isn't just "it seems likely?" Like yeah it's definitely likely that it could be Xenoblade but I feel like you're running on hopium here. Yeah Monolithsoft has had a pattern so far, but that was when Monolithsoft was in a different condition, and NOT getting ambitious by Monolithsoft standards, which you pointed out. Also, the "Would Takahashi not make a xenoblade after the ending of FR?" argument is just pure hopium. We don't know what he's going to do, and the future of Xenoblade and Monolithsoft IP's are totally in the air right now. I'm not saying it's unlikely to be xenoblade, I'm saying it's not unlikely to be a new ip when we're talking about all the facts we really don't know.
there is a concept art from Monolith Soft from years ago that people speculate that it's related to some sort of Fantasy IP.
But it's just a random art they used for a recruitment page, i don't think it's a new IP.
Honestly for me either way it's good since Monolith is a great studio, but i would be lying if i said that i ain't more anxious for whatever is related to Xeno to come first.
We could also very well receive some sort of Remaster/Remake and a new IP like Atlus did with Metaphor and Persona 3 Reload.
@@renren47618 about that art, I'm PRETTY sure they wouldn't make that detailed art of unique characters and a unique world specifically for a recruitment page and nothing else
@@AstralXen most likely that concept art of the area was used for another area either in xenoblade 2/3 or for botw/totk it wouldn't surprise me lol
Even if this recurtment page is for another Xeno game I still really hope Monolith Soft will create a new IP sooner than later. I love Xeno but the last thing I want is this extremely talanted studio to be stuck making the same thing. Even if all you care about is Xeno I think its healthy for creatives to take a break from a series every once in a while to create something new. And then they can come back to said series reinvigorated.
All depends if Nintendo green lights anything other than the Xeno games Since we know Monolith Soft has ideas, but Nintendo doesn't allow them to create them.
Monolith doesn't do only Xenoblade.
They are the main reason why BOTW and TOTK happened, they were behind Splatoon and Animal Crossing New Horizons graphics and they in general are the guys who Nintendo go after when they need to push their hardwares and they are very involved with Zelda since Skyward Sword.
I don't know if the studio will make an IP that it's not related to Xeno so soon but it would be cool too, i recall an interview where Tetsuya Takahashi mentioned that Nintendo only green lights their Xenoblade projects.
Think Wii to Wii U was a pretty big jump as well but yeah it was still less powerful than it's competition.
I would also describe the mailline Xenoblade games as Semi-open world.
Srsly after that banger dlc ending, if we didnt get another xenoblade or xenosaga they shitting us
5:14 I don't think another Xenoblade game is a damper at all.
Western gaming trends make my spine shiver, please no.
I was thinking the same thing... Especially with bigger teams.
That being said, it could be western graphics/power/physics in games, rather than culture and gameplay.
I’m sorry but I’m fairly confused. From your previous videos, I got the idea that Xenoblade X was a complete 1 off that would not ever play a role in the Xeno series in the future due to Fiture Redeemed and how Saga is canon. What do you mean they have to make Xenoblade X be playable again? (I’d love it if it was, but the question stands)
I still think the next Xeno thing is going to be Xenoblade, but it's not going to be Xenoblade CHRONICLES. We're going to get, like, Xenoblade Legends, or Xenoblade Adventures, or Xenoblade Legacy, something like that. You get the best of both worlds, you keep the super iconic Xenoblade name (which, let's be honest, is much more recognizable to the average person than Xeno by itself) but you still get to differentiate it from the trilogy.
Xenoblade Chronicles never existed to begin with. The chronicles is a localization addition and there is no way the japanese developers are going to put a differenciation in the actual games for something the localizers sneezed onto the screen. We can basically ignore it.
I would really like monolith to create a spin-off crossover Zelda-Xenoblade/Souls type game.
An open world fantasy where sword/skills/techniques are the focus of the game.
Everyone says “first” but what about saying “last”?
It's a shame they're just stuck making more Xenoblade even though they've stated in the past that they've put a dozen new IP proposals to Nintendo but have all been turned down. They've made 6 Xenoblade games now on Switch, I'm sure they'd like to stretch their creative muscle on something brand new & I think they deserve to. Monolith could do with having some variety in IPs, too.
A new lead character designer absolutely tells me it's a completely new direction for the series if it is Xenoblade though, which I think is good, as I felt the staleness creeping in with Xenoblade 3. I don't want just "another Xenoblade" like 3 was to 2. I want something ambitious, fresh & exciting that will defy my expectations in the best way possible, which I'm more than confident in thinking is Monolith's intention with this "New RPG".
The series has to grow & evolve, whether it's a new Xenoblade or if it's a new IP. I don't want the series to stagnate with another title like 3 where it's just another boy meets girl story with the same pseudo-MMO combat we've had in every game. I know Monolith don't want to continue that formula forever either.
If it's a new IP, great! If it's more Xenoblade, then I want to be surprised & I want a new combat system, preferably action style, cause the pseudo-MMO has been taken as far as it can go & after 6 games of it, I'm not as excited by it anymore. After 3, the novelty of Xenoblade has worn off a bit. It's time for a fresh start.
Looking forward to their next game.
This is a delusional cope but this needs to be the time soraya saga comes back, like its literally the perfect moment to do that
I agree, after playing Saga i really wish that she does a comeback, most of the huge character depht from Saga and Gears comes from her and it's very "dumbed down" on Xenoblade because Takahashi probably isn't as interested/as good with writting psychological depht as her, i really think that they should give her a new chance, especially if they are indeed canonizing Xenosaga now.
But i really doubt both things.
