@@nbofddsrtre6216 Not to @ you in specific, this regards the general thread here, but hi! My name is Alex and ive been studying zoology (currently in marupial field projects atm) and i can hopefully give a bit of useful info from somebody who actually has credentials and not just a "Im a zoologist" sticker badge on their t-shirt. Ligers are a hybrid animal. This is possible mostly due to the fact that despite being two different species of big cats, they're in the same family, and genus as one another. They also have a divergence of only about 1 million years between them. (this might sound like a long time, but consider the fact that humans and say, an orangutan, are over 15 million years apart divergence wise) Whats all that jargon mean? Theyre pretty closely related. Unfortunately some of the concerns regarding hybrids are extremely valid. Hybrid animals often tend to suffer mutations, illnesses, or disabilities due to the fact that cross species offspring aren't typically meant to exist in the first place (however they CAN in certain instances happen naturally, like with specific bears!) The dna mixture can often cause error in genetics, for better or for worse. This is also why most hybrid animals (if not all) are sterile, meaning they cannot produce their own offspring. It is possible to raise a *healthier* liger, as with any hybrid, but they're more prone to issues later on in life. They're certainly animals you absolutely MUST give greater attention to, to assure no complications have risen. Because of the severity in which they need constant monitoring, its often advised that unless it is a rescue, not to breed hybrid animals like the liger without any particularly sound reason. So, personally, i won't sit here and say this animal is suffering a grim life, but when it comes to breeding these animals for show, profit, or fun, it's somewhat ignorant and risky. All i can hope is this hefty beast is taken well care of, and can resume a well nurtured life :)
I'm sorry, but it's sickening to hear you say they are a natural hybridization. Ligers suffer from many disabilities and are mainly used for money. The fact that you are doing this and saying "Oh it's natural" is cruel. We need to focus on saving both the Lions and Tigers, not making them breed in captivity and make new species. Yes, they are beautiful, but does an animal really have to go through this?
@Dragon Euphoria do some research and then have an opinion. This animal would not survive in the wild. Dont be ignorant to the problem. Just because you think it can kill anything doesn't make it right.
No, I understand what you’er trying to say and yes some zoo’s and safaris do, do this. But I KNOW this safari is different! They don’t do it for the money. The only reason they are taking money it to support themselves AND the animals who live there. And all of the animals there are rescues from bad places or from ppl whom couldn’t take care of them. And second do you see any whips or anything that can harm it? No. Lastly they most likely have a degree and are trained to handle and take care of the animals. Thank you for your time.
At that size he can hardly manage to move in the wild...he will die due to failure in hunting ( he can hardly hide himself at that size from its prey )

@@raymondmir-rosario4205 it is impossible. Lions and tigers arent near eachother in the wild and have different languages and social cues. It's like breeding a horse with a zebra
Brianna Brookshaw it’s definitely not impossible. Impossible means there’s no way that it could happen, it’s unlikely probably and if there definitely wouldn’t be a huge population. We don’t have eyes or cameras in every corner of the wild to know for sure. And again I never said they’re out there, just that it’s not impossible. There have been polar bear and grizzly hybrids found in the wild, and other hybrids. I’m sure there’s a possibility but not that there is.

For real, that's how big I picture the Eeveelutions (I actually had a dream once petting a friendly Shiny Glaceon with numerous other evolved Eevees in the background at this EXACT size). Ligers are indeed giant powerful cats like the Sabre Tooth, but because they're not natural and suffer health issues, they unfortunately cannot function very well in the wild. ⚡⚡⚡This poor creature has been violated its natural origin as a tiger or a lion and they are not supposed to be both. Therefore, this is a flagrant violation of animal Rights ⚡⚡⚡
@@FreedomForCagedBIRDS3 I don't approve of breeding what God has not created but they can't just set him free. I am in awe that the 2 are confident in their walk together that neither is a danger to the other

He's so majestic! hope apollo is doing good right now.
That's not good because ligers will have problems because of crossbred so it's actually illegal to breed lion and tiger because they will not be healthy
Not true at all. Ligers tend to be healthier because of the genetic diversity diversity factor. Go save a Pug, that's real torcher. So many useless dogs and no one cares, but bread a few ligers and everyone fusses..
Mallikarjuna Kori how sad 😔
Not true at all do your research! I can't stand people that pull facts out there butt!
@@LittlebittheChihuahuaKennethT. Yeah, I hate how people assume cross-breeds are unhealthy. If only they'd do just a little bit of research into the matter.
just look at this creature, he doesnt look healthy at all. Way to big
Regardless, nice to see this beast of a cat!
LOL
Che spettacolo: è BELLISSIMO!!!💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘
That's crazy....can you imagine him your breaking into the house he's standing there. Aaaarrrgggghhhh....cool cat though👌
Absolutely Stunning Such an Amazing Creature!! Yes he's Massive 🥰😍
I heard they like to swim like tigers and are friendly like a tamed lion. They're sociable
Is this the coolest biggest mother of big cat`s ever? I love the relationship between this human family and the big cat family, so relaxed and professional. Godspeed you guys.
Seeing this beautiful and huge creature so happy with its humans is so wholesome!!!! Ligers and tigons are awesome!!!
@@OG-sn5st Neither should dogs, but they're cute and/or awesome.

Liger (Male Lion-Female Tiger) ... Tigon (Male Tiger-Female Lion)
what the hell the lion was doing with the tiger that makes a liger.
@@fahimmahmood1139 mating
@@fahimmahmood1139 You already know
Yes I know. But I want to know why tigress not lioness . Did the lioness rejected lion?
Enormous beautiful animal he is! I love him.
They look like 2 tic tacs next to that beast😳 Wow, it's super huge. I would literally die if something like that ran up on me. Shit, I'm only bite sized and wouldn't satisfy his hunger🤣
He's beautiful
when she said he is 5 years old, I lost it. I kinda forgot animals age different, but I was comparing him to dog years so idk why I was surprised but I was.
Then said he's not done growing 💀💀💀💀
He will grow and eventually the ligaments in feet will fail along with internal organs. Ligers or tions have genetic defects so they don't have a nuce life even if they are entertaining for humans.
I noticed that they do have a wierd leaning walk.
@@einomuidugi3131 how big do they get and how long can they live
Wonder how would the leash help if he decided to run :D
He can't run fast. That's why Ligers can't survive in the wild, they can't hunt prey.
@@44excalibur They are also sterile so they can't reproduce.
Beautiful preserve! How fortunate they are to grow up in that environment with animals. I would love to walk with a lion that size; these animals they are so gorgeous! Thank you for sharing!
liger
his mother is tiger
his father is lion
Pretty much shouldn’t exist, he’ll be living with huge health problems. This place is pretty much just an Instagrammers reserve
Я восторгаюсь их любовью к животным. Здоровья и удачи этим людям
It's amazing that such a huge and strong animal puts up with being on a leash.
If push came to shove, the two of them would have no chance of actually restraining him.
He would knock them over like a person pushing a plastic cone over.. no effort.
imagine how rich you must be just to feed him!
I would say start with a house cat for those interested in a Liger. Kinda work your way up.
You guys aren’t walking him. He’s walking you lol. Beautiful animal!
I mean don’t get me wrong I’m sure you guys treat them okay it just doesn’t feel right seeing such a beautiful creature on a leash
Bro you know that the leash is only to lead him the way, when they walk him, the leash is nothing to such a big cat. You know he can drag their owners around if he doesn’t like it
The leash is to show him the way if you think any human of those 2 sizes could remotely pull and force that liger away is almost worrying no offence
@im an idoit so u think they can get him back with that.. he can easily pull the 2 of them if he wants.. ur name is perfect for u..
@im an idoit they aren’t meant to be walked though they aren’t pets they should be left to roam have an enclosure or what not lol
@@theshiv332 The leash is psychological in nature like the elephant with its leg tied to a pin in the ground.
Very cool, Blake sent me here. I'm looking forward to seeing lots of floofs

anyone else think its weird how much this guy is just petting it over and over
Look at his belly! They are over-feeding him just so that he doesn't get any ideas.
Aj Sky don't worry they have a leash around his neck ! 🤣
Most Ligers have loose skin like that.
@Ti Ri ligers are known to suffer from obesity, and tends to have lose skin like that as well. they also don't live long. ligers are mutants, beautiful but not meant to exist
they more than likely get the loose skin from the male lion, male lions have a lot of it for protection against others apparently
@Ti Ri It's like that because it's not supposed to exist. Not becaue its fat.
What a beautiful BIG animal. You’re so lucky to be surrounded by these lovely creatures 😻😺😽

Who remembers He-Man and Battle Cat?
To educate myself, I would like to know, was mating imposed ( artificial) or was it natural, between two parents, I.e tiger & a lion ,,,
If it was done artificially I’m sorry to say, it’s absolutely disgusting and sad,,,, we don’t need to interfere everywhere in nature and pretend, our help is needed, when nature has its own way of doing things,,,,
It would have been artificial in some way. Lions and tigers do not mate naturally
@@briannabrookshaw9318 some of them do if they are in same inclosure.
Humans once interact with Neanderthals. Nature finds a way to make something new.
How do u think we became homosapian from homoerectous spelling is prob wrong and what about ivf where human embryos are artificially created why is it ok for some things but not all
