Watching from Germany. Really appreciate your vlog. Good job
I like your natural non-judging approach to thai culture and beliefs.
There are a lot of videos on youtube, which are in a disgusting way down-looking on this way of life.
I am married for 9 years to a wonderful thai girl, she is simply the best.
Staying together in Germany and waiting for my retirement and then going forever to the family farm in a small village near Udon Thani.
Same you mentioned in another video, my thai family never asked for one bath, but I am happy to give support as far as I can.
Hope all your dreams come true.

my favourite one yet! I think yours and Damo's passion for building and creating is what makes it so infectious! Her genuine happiness buying the plants at the nursery was a lovely moment. (Out of interest, who are the people disliking these videos - what possible reason can anyone have to be go to the point of registering that they don't like this content?! it's bewildering.

Well done one step at a time. Good things come to they who wait. It will be interesting to see the final outcome as people usually build the house first but you are doing things in reverse. But its actually a brilliant idea. When you finally build you will have worked out the location on the property for the proper shaded area with all those trees. Shade in that climate is key for the build. Great video once again. Ireland.

If you do not mind me sharing some porpeang ideas... I am aware you did not ask for advise... but it short of hurts to see less than optimal result of what appears genuine effort.
So with that said, there seems to be a cycle of water that goes like this: clean water goes to fish. This makes them grow and poop. Fish water goes into the soil where it feeds mycorrhizal and other useful fungi. This interacts with the plants that give sugar to the fungi and get all nutrients from the soil in exchange. Plants that interact with the fungi rather than quickly grabbing easy to reach surface fertilizers will be vastly healthier and can defend themselves against insects. This taste is in fact chemical warfare that plants use to kill or deter insects. For us however this is why we like a healthy fruit/vegetable much more than some soggy one.
The much shorter western cycle is: destroy all other plants and fungi by turning the soil and keeping it bare, discourage plants to interact with fungi by providing clean water and artificial fertilizers which contain the more important parts a plant need but lack most of the spore elements. A plant is a lazy bugger and like kids that have access to French fries, will no longer do the work, only binge feed and quickly grow into some waterfilled sickly plant that needs a lot of care.
So to turn this around, begin with feeding clean water in your fish pond on one side. On the other side pump the nutrient rich poop water into a small holding tank and onto the soil. Get as much cover you can find or buy to lower the temperature of the soil. Allow legumes and other plants to grow up on unused parts. When you are ready to plant yourself, first grow them in a small paper pot. Just before planting press whatever other plants are in that patch into soil cover by rolling over them with some heavy hooked blade. Another way is with a burner just hit the small plants. It will give your vegetables a head start and they directly can begin interacting with the soil fungi.
It could be good to think in vertical layers. Many trees take time to grow. Planting them now will within several years give you tasty food for almost no effort. Unlike veggies that do require some care and coaching, most trees do their thing every year without much. So with veggies in the ground, fruit at two meter and wood at 10 meter, in a few years your little forest will look like a miracle
    Best of luck.

Hey mate I love what you and your beautiful wife are doing and I really have no advice to give except for a reference to another TH-camr here in QLD Australia. His channel is called Self Sufficient Me. I have been watching his channel for a year or 2 and I think he could possibly have some good tips and advise for you?

Life changes, things change you have to be flexible. Don't worry about the people's opinions. You know what they say opinions are like ass#$es every one has one lol. I find Thais can be like that too. If you say in 6 months you will do this that etc... After 3 months something changes they will say "but you said" like it's written on a pillar from God lol. I like changes it keeps things interesting. Keep up the good work mate. It's your life
