I could imagine this video being a great intro to someone not familiar with non-duality. Also, what a treat to have an author read his own book! He's so familiar with the material that it's like he's talking to us rather than reading. Very engaging.
The hypnotic powers of mind are incredible. This video provides such a clear view of how mind obscures the real and creates a reality that doesn’t really exist. ❤
Mind-blowing🙈 I sense that everything and everybody is Contiousness, is me. But have never looked at "objects" as sensations coming from mind. Though heard Rupert saying that everything there is - is knowing. He must have meant the same as the speaker in this video. Thank you for the video❤
Alan, this is one of the most stunningly clear teachings I’ve ever heard. What a brilliant way to articulate the understanding that there is no separate material world. When you strip away the senses, there’s nothing left, that is, there are no independent objects, including the body. At the same time, this also means that nothing and no being can be excluded from that which is. All must be one. All must be I.
@@keithoyoung34 try listening to Rupert's " investigation via the five senses" He goes through all the senses one by one. Hearing is probably the easiest way to get this in direct experience. Give me a shout if you want to go through it together. 🙏💕
There is a single consciousness which we all share and so we all have a shared experience. When we think of ourself as having our own private packet of consciousness, then questions like yours are very natural.

The world is only what we know about it...But the question is "who is know it ?" I know the world but this "I" is only a thought like everything else...This "I" is a illusion too...In fact the Consciousness is seeing the content of the mind . The Consciousness produce thoughts , not the mind. The mind is the "mirror" of the consciousness. Than the mind (thoughts) are in Consciousness. The world is in "me" ...Consciousness.We exist only like Consciousness .We are not the body or the mind...The body , the mind (world) are in me ...Me Consciousness is all that exists but all that exists is illusory. I AM the pure potencial of everything but no thing at all. I AM the Absolute before the word "absolute"(Nisargadatta Maharaj) I am the final and the only observer , witness .I "put" the consciousness to manifest a world for me , to see how can be to be something ...But only in imagination. From " no thing" only "no thing" can result...
Oh, I love this SO much!! This is yet another indisputably logical and rational presentation of the Consciousness Only Model. Bernardo Kastrop says that everything is Mind. Rupert Spira calls it Awareness. If I understand correctly, everything we think of as the manifest world is simply a virtual reality, a holographic play of Mind, of Awareness, perceived through the five senses that are, in themselves, part of the hologram. I embrace this model with the most incredible sense of relief. It makes me laugh with joy every time I think of it.
This was a great exercise to demonstrate this principle - I might rephrase it as "Nothing really exists but different types of vibrations which appear and dissolve instantly" which might be more readily acceptable to people, although I have definitely experienced the fundamental reality of "emptiness" or "pure subjectivity"..
What is actually being stated is that only Existence exist. What appears via the so-called human senses does not exist. It is all vibration that comes and goes, ebbs and flows, never simply being, never really present, hence, not existing. Reality is neither objective nor subjective. "Acceptable to people" has no basis in Reality because only What Is actually exist. Not the words, indeed, there is no word for That which is All, because if there was then it would be yet another concept.
I think human experience is not only informed by the individual senses but also by the collective conciousness that holds multisensational images of all 'things'. This is the real library of created 'things'. In fact, the senses that supposedly give us the sensations of 'things' are part of the body, which is also a 'thing', be it very complicated, but still part of the mindstuff. So who is the observer?
And how to explain that every person looking on an apple sees the same (or very similar) picture? I can poin to some dark spot on it and everybody would agree that it's there. This cannot be explained by saying that the apple is only a set of sensations. There is another level of objectivity which is separate from the personal sensory and mental images. This needs additional explanation, without which the one which was given seems to be incomplete. Such as that the separate person is an illusion. Or that the material history of the apparent physical object creates its characteristics. Or that there are two levels of mind--apparent personal one and the universal (word which points to the Universe) one, etc. Maybe this kind of axplanation is in other chapters of the text.
Not only does everyone have a different perspective of the apple but that perception is never the same twice for a single person. We say that it's only a small difference but any difference is a complete difference.
@@alanneachell9092 We can't find it with our senses which are another object on material layer or level but there must be something behind that level which causes simillar sensory experiences of objects in all observers.
@@tomasz_rodziewicz We can consider that there is only one mind which we call consciousness. If this is true then every observer would see similar perceptions caused by consciousness itself.
