These are the editing techniques Tyler Casey uses for all of his projects! Follow these editing steps to start on an organized road of music video editing. I go over all the major steps in editing a music video from, metaloging, organizing, syncing and cutting the footage. I make sure my timeline in premiere stays organized and nothing gets messed up during the editing process.

I used to edit music videos the same way until I discovered the multi cam feature, I had 25 takes on my last music video, much easier with multi cam. Great videos man!

Karim _driveslow Hi, thank you for your reply. So can I apply the effects on the individual clips into tge multicam sequence or can I apply the effects on a separate sequence and link it with my multicam sequence?
Everybody has their own style of editing. But I agree, multicam is such a powerful way to do this kind of work. So helpful to see the other footage while editing, plus lots of ways to tweak the edits.

during each take when you film do you play the whole song or just a portion of it?
Greenski that depends usually the full track but sometimes you might not need it.

Hows it going? I'm cutting a music video on Adobe CC, and have done quite a few videos and shorts but never have come across this issue. The song that I'm cutting to, slowly drifts away and off sync from the video as the video progresses. It starts off lined up correctly, gradually it starts to pull away and the lip sync becomes off. Any idea? Thanks

Hey, Tyler, can you help with a tutorial for an edit where at the very beginning the title of the song appears, and then the artist walks through the whole frame(e.g. right to left) while the song title gets wiped/hard fade out following the artist.
so you do color correction and stuff before editing? when editing.. if your placing a bunch of takes to the top track (13:40) off their original tracks (your color edits ect will affect everything on that one track correct?, but you will want to be able to color correct the footage separately?)
Now I usually color correct and color grade at the end using the Master track on each clip so it applies that color to the entire clip.
I'm new to editing and want some projects to edit, do you have any recomendations?
How do I fix the audio delay in a video? Over a short period , after playing on TH-cam, there seems to be a lag in the audio, or out of sync with video, giving a lag with the singing or speaking. However when its first exported and playing on TH-cam or other devices, it appears in sync. What's causing the change? Thank you for your feedback. John.

I'm not able to pull that line you use for increasing opacity or volume it doesn't go up or down even after restarting my premiere pro several times, any solution?

whats you ram size? and how come your premiere aint lagging when ur editing 4k.. are u using proxies?
I do use proxies now with my gh5 footage but I also have 32gbs of ram!

Yes I would because it make editing easier and he needs to use multicam editing it’s way faster and easier u just hit the numbers of the camera
multi cam is WAY easier and synchronize to quickly sync all the clips w the audio

I'm sure you probably heard this before but why not just put all the Clips in and then synchronize. been working for me for years once in awhile I will have trouble with it
this was older but I usually do this way any ways because sometimes I do not have audio and prefer going through all performances any ways.

how tf can you have the "project" panel on 2 tabs ??? it is impossible to do for me 2022 version ; when i open metalogging, the project panel is only at the bottom left, not also on the top left like you have, its starting with the audio clip mixer panel...dont get it
