    Ciao Alex, I’m from Australia and I’ve started using Koleston. My question is, I have 100%grey and chose 66/0 and 6/3 mixed with it. I did half and half, but I read you shouldn’t mix anything with the pure natural..true or false? And my other question is, can I just use 66/0 alone? Will it be too flat no shine.

    Hello, thanks for the video, very helpful and very well explained! I have a question: can u mix 0.88 with say 10.16 + 1,9% developer as toner against yellow reddish in a bleached blond hair?

    • @alexcara
      @alexcara  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Anya,
      Of course you can mix 0/88 with 10.16 to make the shade cooler, but be very careful how much 0/88 you add, because 0/88 is a very intense blue. First try adding 1 cm (or 1 gram) of 0/88 to 1 tub( 60 gram) of 10.16. And try it on a small section of hair to see if the proportion is good or if you need to add more 0/88 or more 10.16

    Hi Alex, great video! I'm currently using wella koleston 12\1 with 40 vol developer but recently it ends up too yellow\brassy on root area. Can I mix 12\1+ 12\61 equal parts with the same developer for a lighter cooler blonde? Thanks for reading this.

    • @alexcara
      @alexcara  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Sonia, it's depending of how long roots do you have. Your formula can work and lift your hair a little bit more if your roots are not longer then 1-1,5 cm. If the roots are longer than 1,5 cm than it is better to lift them and clean the yellow with bleaching powder using low percentage of peroxide ( for ex mix 1 part of bleaching powder + 3 parts of peroxide 1.9%) and then apply a demi-permanent or permanent hair color to tone the hair (also using low percentage of peroxide).
      Some tips:
      Dye your roots every 4-5 weeks.
      The coolest color is 12\81 and is recommended for darker base like level 5-6. You can also mix 12\81 with 12\1 or 12.61.
      It is important also to follow the mixing ratio 1 part of color (only for special blond)+ 2 parts of peroxide. And development time is 50 min. Also put enough color.
      parts 12% of peroxide (development time 50 min)

    • @alexcara
      @alexcara  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Bleaching powder with 1.9% you can use now when your hair is already dyed in a blond, just to lift it little more and clean the yellow pigment.
      When you will have again natural roots longer then 1,5 cm, then the formula is :
      Light base from level 7
      1 part of bleaching powder + 2 parts of peroxide 3-4%.
      Darker base -
      1 part of bleaching powder + 2 parts of peroxide 6% ( for very dark base 9%)

      @@alexcara thank you for taking the time to reply to my question.
      My roots are not that big, I do my roots every 4 weeks roughly. I recently noticed my root area especially at the back of the head is kinda brassy yellow compared to the front. So I was wondering if I can mix 12/81 with 12/1 to get a cooler shade. By the way, what scales do you recommend for weighting the dye? Thanks again for the help.

    • @alexcara
      @alexcara  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@soniazanelli26 No problem, my pleasure!
      12/81 with 12/1 is good combination for cooler shade.
      About weighing scale, best is to use a professional one like this:ebay.us/yU61pr
      but it can be also any kitchen scale of good quality.

    • @alexcara
      @alexcara  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, 5/0 + 5/2 with 30 vol is good combination.

      @@amaranto6568 A cool color will looks all time darker than a warm color of the same level of lightening. So I recommend instead of level 4 to use level 5 because it will look darker.
      In your case you will need to make a deep colour-cleansing to remove your current color and light the hair to level 5-6 and after that you can apply the dream shade.
      Some recommendations of cool shadows (level 5) from Koleston Perfekt :
      5/0 + 0.28 (green mix)
      or
      5.1 + 0.28
      You can experiment with green mix, for exempel start to add 3- 4 grams of 0.28 in 1 tub of 5/0 or 5.1 , try it on a small part of hair and more 0.28 as needed.
