Angel, I really enjoy your videos, especially when they are quiet, with only the sounds of you working. Therapeutic, with ASMR-quality. Keep up the good work, brother. Warms my heart to see you thank the Lord as you open the garage to work!
Hafa Adai From Washington. Needed to know how to remove the fuel pump and found this video of a fellow country man from Guam. Keep up the good work chelu!
Happy Easter..had same issue on 94 altima..replaced fuel pump twice before I noticed bad connectors or burnt fittings..299,000 miles on it so I just sold it....great video..Blessings
Angele, you are the first ...... Good morning, I am George, an engineer from Corinth, Greece .... I am very happy when you upload a video .... The way you work is very similar to mine .... I am too lover of Japanese cars because they are the best ....... Very good work as always and you have an incredible humor ....... Know that I like you very much When you upload a video I give up everything to see you ... .... Warm request, don't get lost for long periods of time and upload more videos. I imagine many like it .... Always be well, George mechanical Greece ...
Not gonna lie I miss living in Vegas, lived on the east side sunrise manor for over 7 years towed for Ewing Bros and then AAA fleet owned before moving out of state. Great video man🤙
At least you didn't have to drop the tank. That's always my biggest fear working on a vehicle. Fuel is dangerous..... they just make things so difficult to do. Whatever happened to an inline pump and filter? Might be the next step for this car if he/she keeps it. I don't even know if that would be possible! Anyway! Good job and thanks for the video
Thank you for the video Brother Angel!!! Not a fan of the new music cause I watch your videos at 2am when I can't sleep and when my girl is asleep so I don't need headphones. But good job on the fix. Maybe a local junkyard might have the part? Hope you and your family is safe 🇵🇭
Some people reported same issue on 2007 Honda Fit. The aftermarket parts today are often worse than good used originals. I did a smart thing by NOT replacing a noisy gas pump on my 79 Supra (the dried rubber mount caused noise, not the pump itself) it lasted lifetime of the car...
I recall your installation!!! You plugged plug in full of fuel!! That’s what shorted it out!! 41:43 connectors soaked in fuel!! That’s why we empty fuel out!
Happy easter to you & your family angel. This is why i sold my 05 nissan altima darn thing kept burning up the pumps, i couldn't risk my life or my wifes life over this nissan issue. Don't get me wrong was a very good car but the pump was replaced twice so i said this is enough. Just get rid of her & get a toyota problems solved. Never a issue with my 05 toyota camry.
really like your channel, one thing i would have done before buttoning the car back up as i would have started the car just to make sure it would start,,anyways yrs ago my daughters 2009 caravan ended up having a problem with the coil shorting out and being intermittent running or running badly mech changed out the coil no problems for a while and then doing the same thing ended up being the dam plastic connector shorting out on the inside of it and of course no such OEM part being sold without buying the whole harness so the mech found a substitute connector that worked solved the problem forever
Exact same problem on a 2000 Altima, but I can't find a replacement wiring harness or the part you replaced ("tube plate"). I did find a Bosch fuel pump that comes with the harness. I'm debating if I should order the fuel pump or just re-wire it myself with plain wire terminals.
And keep the vids coming more often if u can. Me and my dad love watching ur vids. From saipan by the way. I bet u know cause its only like a 40 minute flight from here to guam.
Nissan Altima are CPS sensor killers. I replaced one when my didn't start. Fixed. Two months later the Camshaft Position Sensor melted and had to replace that. Never have to do the fuel pump up to 160k miles at least.
Good afternoon, I speak to you from Spain. Subscriber and faithful follower of yours, I see in many videos that you often change the fuel pump many times. Because it tends to be so bad ... greetings friend
Thanks for your videos > SHOULD and MUST BUY OEM parts, so they can last more than 100k miles more. After markets that work well are only suspension parts that are everything underneath the cars such as Brake Pad, Rotors, Tie Rod, Sway bar Bushing, Strut, Strut coil, Upper Lower Control Arm, Bearing, Steering driver, Engine Mount. Scotty Kimer he also says he used to install aftermarket fuel pumps and lots of them don't work after installation.
it wasn't that long ago that we used to improperly mix aluminum wiring with copper wiring for house power line applications. (The oxides that form in an air ambient somehow got in the way of forming a good low resistance contact.) Without knowing the specifics of the situation here, i think the best you could have done was to sand down the connectors in the hopes of forming a GOOD FIRM LOW RESISTANCE metal connection to minimize the chance of the current carrying contacts from getting hot in the future. well, i guess that's for future reference.
Dude when you’ve been working on a car for quite some time it gets to a point to where you just want to be done with it and get everything put back together. Trust me.
No, the old man lucked out that he didn't run the gas tank low enough to introduce the right vapor/air mixture while the fuel pump produced heat, that could have blown the car up...
@@beastfromtheeast9318 I have been a mechanic before and I always make sure that what I install or do will work before continuing the assembly process, but he's a good mechanic and I'm sure he tested it before continuing the installation. Maybe he just didn't need to record it anymore.
@@WorldEagleKW there is never enough air in a gas tank for combustion. The fuel will constantly evaporate in moderate temperatures and displace any air especially in a climate like Las Vegas.

@@Mr.Torres831 first video shows connector was damaged, before new pump was installed. The connector itself is faulty. Only remedy is to replace the connector and hope it last longer than the rest of the car🙏
Electrical arcing would be my first suspect, however; not the only one. Others are if the metal wasn't made correctly it could have resistance and start to build up heat that way. Another one that does involve arcing, but that wasn't the initial problem is age. Once the plastic gets old and had been exposed to gasoline, it can flex/crack/break, etc, etc. This can cause the pins to slap against each other over time (and especially rough roads) and start the arcing. In this case, the plastic isn't always visibly damaged and even just a little flex can cause arc at a certain point. The latter is also sometimes why modern cars will throw fuel pump related codes and there is no visible indication the pump is bad.
yes, poor mechanical connection of the mating parts cause a higher resistance and corrosion that then lead to heat.bending the connector and then forcing the mating part togeder would have reduced that risk, but i dont blame him if this is what this part looks like imagine the rest of the car.
Hello Fix it Angel, I got a minor problem question, I got a new fuel pump and sending unit for 2002 xterra and the fuel pump came with a new wire harness to plug into sending unit, How do I open up the plug end to install the new wires [ 2 push in type wires, red and black ], thanks brother
Really I missed you and TH-cam not notifying me of your new videos even the bell is on ,but I like previous videos hearing wrenches ,birds ,whatever on the road and everything dont like annoying music on background
Why in the hell did you put another burned up part back on that car?? I bet you didn't tell your neighbor you did that. Damn thing's going to blow up somebody's going to die. If I did a job like that I damn sure wouldn't make a video of it.
That could've gone KABOOM if the connector eventually caught on fire. Especially if the gas tank wasn't full and instead there were gas fumes around the connector. I'm thinking the fuel pump is bad drawing too many amps to cause the melting in the first place. Anyway, good repair man.
you're out here in Vegas ya? Junk yard next time bro...the NLV & Hendo yards usually have plenty of these cars man... prob way cheaper too b/c u could just take the connector.... then again, Nissan discontinued it (they're probably all burnt)
Why the high resistance Angel? Resistance can cause heat. Or did someone put a higher rated fuse in the fuse box than the pump called for? Great video! Just my thoughts. Is there resistance maybe at connections? God bless your family!
Happy Easter!! Stay safe and healthy everyone. God bless you all.

I2canFIX! No that does not matter if I plugged it with fuel. It’s the connector contact points causing high resistance.
You fix cars for a living?
Why would that matter? If you empty the tank, connect the connector and then fill the tank up,it's still got fuel around it.

Another excellent video, Angel. Happy Easter.
Good to see you again, i have been waiting!
Time to get rid of that car when parts aren’t available from factory or aftermarket
It could be a loose ground wire under the hood or it could be a crank sensor
Could you of used headlight bulb gel or some kind of electrical paste to stop the burning of the connector?
So it was loose pin fitment that caused electrical arcing and heat?
Sometimes no. I ran into before with a never before opened fuel pump assy... Car was over ten years old
Electrical arcing would be my first suspect, however; not the only one. Others are if the metal wasn't made correctly it could have resistance and start to build up heat that way.
