- In this video I will show you how to create label groups in Gmail and then create filters to automatically label and sort emails from specific people or groups. You will learn how to change the filter settings in order specify whether the email remains in your inbox or goes straight to your label folder. You will also be able to choose a variety of different actions for your email filters.

I have never met a woman that could articulate the nuances of google products! How long have you been running this channel? 7k subscribers is impressive. I see based upon your Goodreads email subscription that you are an avid reader. I love me a nerdy little bookworm! If you ever want to go on a date, I am a classical violinist, and I will serenade you until the sun goes down. Then I will read you select poems from Keats, Wordsworth, Kipling, and maybe even some of Shakespeare's Romantic sonnets if the mood fits ;) We'll drink a nice Bordeaux from a respectable vineyard and talk late into the night about gmail, powerpoint, and excel...
Wow what a great guy, what a catch! Has she taken you up on that date yet??

Every one of these examples shows a drop down menu with "Filter Messages Like These" but my Gmail doesn't have this option in that menu! Talk about frustrating.

Gmail's own Help page on Filters only instructs the user how to apply a label but neglects to mention the part about skipping the Inbox. Thanks for clarifying!
Thanks for sharing! I did not realize that. Glad it was helpful!
help: the emails stay in my 'primary'inbox, how do i remove/move it to ''goodreads'' folder ONLY?
Thank you, The Automatically sending old emails are not working. i have to again archive it after labeling them. Am I doing wrong ?
Can you use this on an smart phone?
It doesn't work for me, I still see the email into my principal Inbox with its label shown in a grey box close from the email subject. Is there a possibility to move it like in your video? Thank you
I did what you said in the video but those emails did not go into the label...
This is what I'm looking for but to be able to do it on the mobile app, not got pc or laptop, can't do it this way on mobile app, anyone know how?
How do I do this on my phone I want to have my emails in separate folders on my phone
How to do these in Gmail app.
the subject filter and "has words" filter doesnt work
0:24 how do I
It's not working for me
good morning. To get certain email addresses to auto go to a label, this is what I did...... when you go into gmail, on the left, click "MORE", then click "CREATE NEW LABEL" and in next box, Name your label and click "CREATE" Now click "MANAGE LABELS" .. at the top of the page that comes up, click on "FILTERS AND BLOCKED ADDRESSES" Then scroll down and click on "CREATE A NEW FILTER".. In the box that comes up, put the email address of the emails you want to go into that label (folder) and then click on "CREATE" on the next page that comes up, put a check mark in the box for "SKIP THE INBOX (ARCHIVE IT) and go down and put check mark in the box for "APPLY THE LABEL" and in the dropdown box click the name of the folder you want it to go to... Then click on "CREATE FILTER" Good luck... it worked for me...
Thank You...
