I went cross-country with my family in a brand new '66 Sportvan when I was 5. The seven of us in one of those things, from Connecticut to California and back. I got to sit on the motor if I was good. We pulled into an A & W or something in Rapid City, SD and my Dad forgot there was a rack on the roof and it hit the overhang. omg I'll never forget that bc it was my 5th birthday.
My van story 😂 65 SWB 6 cylinder 3 speed stick , camaro buckets, PLUM CRAZY PAINT, cragar SS wheels!! Thanks Diane for the purple curtains!!! Many trips to the track with my YAMAHA YZ360!!!!😊😊😊
Had a 66' sport van deluxe. First car. A choice that weekend. Looked like that but it was painted Candy apple green and a few Chucky cheese embls and carpet. Didn't regret it. I mechanicaly restored it. Neighbor gavee a nice new 292 out of his new truck(wanted a V8) went from there. ( Cam) worked really 👍 Other choice was a 68' mustang fastback. Just turned 18 that day and I'm buying a car. Bought the van. They were both $800. With bald tires. Girl I met wanted to go to the mountains this weekend.I bought the van. Oh, we got married and have children. Lot of good memories with my van.
Was that 66 a factory automatic? If so I noticed an automatic floor shifter was installed. I have a factory automatic 66 you can see on my TH-cam channel that is missing the column shifter rod and the park reverse neutral drive indicator. If you don't need them I would be interested in buying them off you. Thanks
Very nice 1966 Chevrolet Sport Van. But I prefer my 1964 Chevrolet Corvair Greenbrier Deluxe Sport Wagon. & it came with a 2 speed Power-Glide , & the optional 110 HP engine; Like yours it's a 6 door , But I do like the 64, & 65 when they had the name plate Chevy 2 after the Nova . I just think the Greenbrier had better exterior styling all around, & these 2nd gen vans were neat when in 68, & 69 you get the optional 307 V8 , & a slightly longer body. Thanks for the video.
I sold derek a few parts for that van,,such a sweet ride.

Very nice van! I'm a van guy too. I like that your pop out windows are 1/4 turned for better air flow. Nice touch!
I will never forget my 69 GMC handi-van with all those windows!!
OLD CHEVY VAN'S RULE!!!!!! I WANT ONE!!!
