The lifting up of shades is for safety purposes. Passengers can keep an eye on the abnormalities of the plane exterior during take off and landing.
It's not required in the US, so perhaps that's why she mentioned it.

Hello pretty lady, very nice video, a little too fast though. Will have to try flying out of Seattle. That private lounge looks amazing esp with all the included perks, would love that experience, but definitely not in my budget lol. Been to Singapore, once a few decades ago, and not through the airport. Definitely on my bucket list to return.

Yeah awesome video! It is safety regulations to have the window shades fully open during takeoff and landing in most parts of the world. This is primarily so that in the event of a fire starting somewhere in the aircraft (wings, engines etc), the cabin crew/flight attendants are able to see out the windows to assess which doors are operable and SAFE to perform an immediate evacuation with as you don't want to be sliding down slides near an uncontained fire. I agree when I have flown with US airlines such as Delta had half the cabin windows shut, and this is just ridiculous that they do not have strict policies in palce for this. It could be life or death. As a whole American aviation is a joke compared to Europe and Asia...

I flew Singapore Airlines Business Class from Perth to Japan (via Singapore). Service was fantastic but there was no amenity kit on any of the flights. Which I think is a bit disappointing for business class. Next time I will remember to ask

One clarification towards the end of your video was on the Jet Quay service. We will have quite a long transit time before boarding on the flight as we will be coming in from Thailand. Do you need to remove shoes and full body scanner at security as well if flying business?
That depends on the airport, regardless of airline and seat class. Some may have a dedicated line for premium flyers coming from the separate check-in area; they’d be less crowded and more chill but not less strict on the underlying security policies.

the SQ A350 business class has a huge drawback for me. If you lay down in the lounge mode, your legs are not on the same angle with the TV

I’ve had mixed experiences. SingaporeTokyo a380 business was awesome on all fronts. Just took a regional business class flight with them SG>Bangkok on a350 and was very unimpressed. Tired and dreary cabin and unfriendly inattentive crew
Service level on anything tends to drop off the shorter the route is.
i think it depends on the crew. i met really nice attentive crews on this route before. but have to agree with you on my latest trip 2 weeks ago. they were not as attentive

Try Etihad or Qatar Airways- a lot better than Singapore airlines! I was blown away. Singapore airlines used to be good but sadly standards have dropped and they have taken away many perks. Pls bring them back! You have made so much money by cutting costs on many things and the CEO was given a huge bonus while passengers who pay so much aren’t getting the full works .
Actually , air staff and service are quite good once plane take off . But, ground staff in Melbourne, Australia is really bad , lack of manners and quite rude including business class passengers check in..A bit disappointing to be honest .

Most business class airlines offer amenity kits at your seat. As an introvert, I would be embarrassed having to kindly request one. Also, no complimentary sleepwear on a 16 hr flight? Most airlines have great business services, seats, meals, IFE.. I want goodies over experiences 🫴
Singapore is a stingy outlier when it comes to the kits. I forgot to ask for them on both my legs when I flew SQ on an upgraded ticket from Beijing to Sydney 😭
Right? !!! It’s the main reason why I’ve avoided flying business class with them. They were the stingiest airline to not offer amenity kits on business class flights. There are so many other airlines who provide complimentary simple, fancy or even name brand kits. I get excited and always do the happy dance when I get my amenity kit 👏😜🕺
