This is the best video on TH-cam. I crack up everytime I watch this. It's so horrible it's good. The can't breathe from laughing trill to the finishing touch of the emptying the spit thud. Comical genius. Whoever played this, thank you. On a side note, I do feel bad that I can't watch this amazing musician in videos where he's actually playing without thinking of this.
I think this video should be used as a terrific advertisement for one of those far-East companies that make really low-end horns...we can have captions on the screen stating "Band-Instructor Approved...Concert-Quality Sound!!!!"
Omg, that was freaking hysterical. You expect to be blown away by a professional playing his horn, but then it sounds if I played it myself (I recently started playing it again after years of not playing). I laughed for the entire five minutes because I do could easily to all of the mistakes he made. Kudos to you for putting this together. This may be my favorite video on TH-cam right now.
To the trained ear it sounds like a decent high-schooler at best. Articulation is fuzzy, range isn't quite there. Whoever edited this is a genius at working with audio, and probably is an experienced musician too.
John S. Really? I play the horn and so does my friend (different level) but she had a solo for a competition and it sounded way better (ik this is fake). She’s not in high school.
I need a copy of this, to make a CD for slipping into the collection of some musicians I know ... that night of the diner party ..books discussed, ribald mirth, some sherry .. and then I make sure this gets onto the playlist ...
that man in the video is called radek baborak, and is actually one of the best french horn players ever. i suggest any serious hornist who hasnt already to look him up
I can't. I just can't. Thank you enough for this. Even normal, well played french horn makes me pee myself for a week, I've always thought it was some sort of a personality disorder. Now I know I'm not alone.
Lol love it! Some very silly people apparently can't take a joke. It must have been really hard to play it like this though....takes skill, hehe! Radek is awesome! And for those who may not know....these concertos in and of themselves were a bit of a joke......love it! We have to learn to have some fun! :-) Thanks for the giggles Radek!
Since this is a different kind of video, anyone else prefer the orchestra over the solo in these concertos? I also love that this was the concerto my professor told me to watch, because this is the complete opposite sound that made me love the horn.
How did you achieve the crap tone? Just curious the playing technique you used. I can make myself sound like this by playing out the side/edge of my mouth.
I thought I was going to die laughing! My favourite moments are at 1:45 and 4:45. It may all be a joke, but it reminds me so much of my own playing in front of an audience... (I can play it much better, but once I turn into a nervous wreck I sound more or less like that). By the way, where did you get the backing track? Is it from the actual concert? I'd like to have it so as to be able to practic (although it's still a bit too quick for me).
I think it is far more funny to read the comments! Cant believe so many try to judge and analyze that this guy js not that bad after all. Omg. Obviously the majority of people have no idea who Baborak is and moreover, really no idea of horn playing.
@@amsedelm Well, I played trombone, so it's has to do with how you position your mouth, cheeks, tongue, (facial stuff) while playing. (I accidentally spelled it wrong, its "Embouchure"). If you are not controlling your facial muscles, etc. you are letting air out resulting in either a weak and raspy or distorted sound, and can even cause you to play flat. I haven't picked up my horn in years, so I'd have to practice a lot again to get my muscles in my face (get my embouchure back) stronger and back in shape again!
Wondered what a Mozart "shred" was. My life is richer for now knowing. Full belly laugh. Still, the person actually playing the audio has some of the fast note sequences down better than I ever did.
Shred videos are joke videos where the audio is intentionally changed to make the player sound like shit in a live performance. They were pretty big in the late 00s/early 10s.
You HAVE to be a great player to DELIBERATELY ham something up! I think of Victor Borge and Les Dawson. I've heard Les play seriously and he was really great.
I don't think a lot of people will understand the true comedic value of this video.
It takes a well-trained musical ear to appreciate it, really. Who says you can't live it up with your training eh!
well I also play the french horn and I can hear it!
why can't real classical concerts be like this? I mean, it would be more fun and keep me awake.
This thing is called IQ
Someone’s been recording me playing after a night on the beer...
This is absolutely gold. The fact that it's only a bit off it's way funnier than if it would have been if the whole solo was off
Superb performance, except a few notes were a bit flat at times. It was probably the humidity.
Tulsatom Bob either you are a little confused or I can’t take a joke.
@@gabrieljacobson2922 you can't take a joke.
China fanatic so wait, the commenter is joking
gabriel jacobson unlucky mate
XD excellent
Still sounds better than me
TheEpongeMan the performer is a professional. It’s amazing what they can do!

The best part about it is that if you're not super familiar, it doesn't sound *horrible* , it just sounds *not very good*
@Rohann van Rensburg This is rather good, saves a lot of people the embarrassment.
I was wondering what sound was that! I'm doing my best to hold my lauger now
I'm in love with the emptying of the valve in 4:45. Absolutely in love.
Me cago de risa como la saco sin presionar el pistón jajajaja
Many won't realize just how good a horn player has to be to play this bad. I love how he gets the rich tone of a piece of PVC pipe.
Can't believe how this dubbing is fooling SOOOOO many people . Bravo!!!
Right??? Lmao! They only shredded Radek. Haha! He does not play like this lol
Beautiful, what a sublime sound and musical interpretation, quite excellent!
4:31 Ah yeah. Every horn player will feel this situation. 😂
"Fake it till you make it" in perfection
And the random thud at 4:45 is the cherry on top. This is truly hilarious. Thanks for sharing!!
HAHA I just noticed that it's got me rolling over!!!
Nicole Suarez It's supposed to replicate when you don't push down the right finger when taking out a valve and it pops.
Not random! The conductor clearly tossed something towards the perc section and hit a high tom.
I think this video should be used as a terrific advertisement for one of those far-East companies that make really low-end horns...we can have captions on the screen stating "Band-Instructor Approved...Concert-Quality Sound!!!!"
good idea
Okay... It took me a while to realize this was a joke...
Faith in hornists restored.
It would have been cool if, while taking his bow, he muttered to himself, "Nailed it!"
OMG. The riff at 04:33 had me on the floor. I couldn't breathe.
Everyone keep in mind that this is fake. It even says so in the description. That's Radek Baborak, an amazing horn player.
yep that's what a *shred* is
Best part is the "plopp" in 4:44
He even plopp exactly on the beat.
Omg, that was freaking hysterical. Ok this must be a very sophisticated shred because it sounds ok to me XD

John S. it sounds like a new learner to the song playing over a baking track haha
John S. A high schooler who really sucks...
js100serch it sounded okay as in if i can play it like this, i would be slightly proud. but for a soloist it sounds hideous
John S. Really? I play the horn and so does my friend (different level) but she had a solo for a competition and it sounded way better (ik this is fake). She’s not in high school.
Hahahaha.....sounds like my ass after a tin of beans....
hahahaha yes :D
I have been on a concert like this real time.
Hahaha this has to be one of my favorite shreds of all time. Right up there with Kings of Leon shreds.
This performance must have won him the Principal Horn position in Berlin lol
Still love listening to this 😅 Brilliant work, just brilliant
3:47 Me singing Mozart's requiem's Kyrie eleison in the choir
Top class, absolutely love it...

The SUBTLETY is stupendous!!! Lmfao!!!
Bloody brilliant,up there with the very best.Bravo.
Can't wait for the Schumann four horn concertstuck!
When someone asks you why the horn is so expensive, show them this video.
It is funny when the shredders are actually trying to play as well as they can ;-)
SO TRUE! :D
It’s funny when people make baseless assertions.
The thing that's really sad is that this sounds better than half the french horns at my school.
that man in the video is called radek baborak, and is actually one of the best french horn players ever. i suggest any serious hornist who hasnt already to look him up
Well, his trills are better than mine...
I found this really funny though :P
I can't. I just can't. Thank you enough for this. Even normal, well played french horn makes me pee myself for a week, I've always thought it was some sort of a personality disorder. Now I know I'm not alone.
I recommend talking to your urologist.
"The French Horn takes too much of a person's life. French Horn players hardly have time to marry and have children." ~ Garrison Keillor
LOL, I thought this was really Radek playing for a good few seconds there, and I was like WHAT?! :O This is funny though
Anyone who has ever played the French horn probably suffocated in laughter at 4:45
you must be a pro to play it that false. so, who played this?
Lol love it! Some very silly people apparently can't take a joke. It must have been really hard to play it like this though....takes skill, hehe! Radek is awesome! Shredding aside, the orchestra sounds amazing
Love this video 🤣🤣🤣🤣 , pls do it again!!!!!!
Since this is a different kind of video, anyone else prefer the orchestra over the solo in these concertos?
I also love that this was the concerto my professor told me to watch, because this is the complete opposite sound that made me love the horn.
Haha the Trill reslution is the funiest thing ever heard on my life! at 1:45 LMFAO! and what about the POP sound at 4:45!
This performance brought me to tears 😭
can we all just briefly appreciate the AMAZING orchestra??
That s a normal horn, not a shred, that s how they play, normally, most of them
How can you dislike this? It's genius!
You are simply the best!
How did you achieve the crap tone? Just curious the playing technique you used. I can make myself sound like this by playing out the side/edge of my mouth.
great solo work! haa I need more dude, it's like a drug
Love it! Whomever the stand in is isn't a bad player but it's enough to be pretty funny!
I love it when he removes his mouthpiece right next to the microphone so you will hear the 'pop'.
After hearing this, I'll never again feel bad about my horn playing. :) Thanks!
Oh my gosh, THAT'S HILARIOUS😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
PDQ Bach: "This is plagiarism, with a capital P!"
Brilliant! Hilarious! Well done - a masterpiece!
Emptying the valve pop at the end. Nice touch.

If I played like that when I was in High School, my horn teacher would have fits!
1:47 scales really not bad for a shred
Pretty good shredding!! Nice job
That made my day! Thank You:)!
Make sure you read the description
Mozart actually wrote this piece for the trombone, or Übelhorn, as it was known at the time. This comes very close to the original.
This had me crying lol
That pipe pop at the end.... Hahaha!
I think it is far more funny to read the comments! Cant believe so many try to judge and analyze that this guy js not that bad after all. Omg. Obviously the majority of people have no idea who Baborak is and moreover, really no idea of horn playing.
This is brilliant work. 😂
Sounds like me the first time I played that piece
Wow. Just amazing.
I just wonder how this is made - how can you erase the original solo instrument from the given audio and replace it by a new one ?
The horn here was originally used as a commode
Only thing missing was the cowbell.
So Fun !!! how did you do that ?
brilliant
At first I didn't realize it was the shreds version, so I was thinking... Oh my god, I thought Radek Baborak was good...
Only those of us possessed of a finely tuned musical ear will be able to hear the discrepancies in the horn player's technique.
Oh reeeaaaallllllyyyyy!! I think it sounds great... maybe a little sloppy on the embrature, but nobody's perfect! 😂🤣😂🤣😂
@@johndenicola6173 What is embrature? Thx!

was only the french horn part shredded? the rest sounds normal
Well the title IS called "1st French horn concerto shreds" so I imagine so.
How did you remove the horn in the original soundtrack?
That's a playalong soundtrack.
Why bother? First “shred” I’ve heard of. Doctor, former bassoonist here. Thanks.

Mozart: Not enough poop
amazing sounds! ;-))

I agree...and IMHO the "shredder" player is actually quite good. Little clues give it away like the lip trill at the end.
The valve kills me
That was hilarious...you have to be a brass player or be around brass players often to get it though lol
I laughed my life tonight
Was this recorded by Alberto Cappiello?
KKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!! Great!!! You' re a genius!!!
I lost it when he popped his valve
This hurts internally on the soul.
Concerts like these happen in Pyongyang every time Kim Jong Un discovers a new instrument.
Watch some Nuclear Power Trio clips if You haven't done so yet. Thank me later.
Sounds like how I used to play it!!
Petition to have Baborak watch this video
LOVE IT !! :D
I love the part from 2:35 to 2:41!
I love it.
Bravissimo! What a tight embrature!!! 😂
