Just a suggestion for your backup lights. I think you'll be cutting a 4.5" hole for the grommet. Grote makes a solid back grommet #91950. Into that grommet you can put a H7614 12 volt 50 watt halogen flood light bulb. I put a set in the bumper of my pickup truck years ago and they work great. The solid back grommet will help keep water off the back of the bulb and it will also keep the terminals clean and safe from shorting out. You can also use a SPDT on/on switch. There will be 3 terminals on the back. Remembering that there is a groove cut in the threaded shank of the switch and it being there to help line up the on/off tag. Position the groove down. Hook up the light bulbs to the center terminal on the switch. On the top terminal you'll bring in the interrupted wire from the backup light switch on the transmission. The bottom terminal on the switch will go to fused battery positive or you can switch it through the ignition switch. With the switch in the down position the halogen bulbs will come on when you shift into reverse. With the switch in the up position the halogen light will come on and will work great for work lights when loading or unloading at night. you can also reach over and flip the switch up if someone is riding your bumper or comes up from behind with their bright lights on. You can also use a SPDP on/off/on switch if you don't want to use the lights every time you shift into reverse. Center position will be off You still hook up the wires the same.

Very good idea! Thank you, I'm for sure going to check that out!

@@farmrigging4450 You're welcome. Those H7614 bulbs have a horizontal beam so it's important to get them in the grommets correctly. I think if you position the terminals on the back horizontal and the flutes in the glass lens vertical they will be okay. There might be LED compatible bulbs to the H7614 but I don't know the number. Any PAR36 12 volt bulb should fit the grommets. Might have to install the bulb in the grommet put the bulb and grommet in from the back and pull the lip of the grommet through the hole in the bumper. Can't wait to see what you use. You've got enough room in the center for 4 of those bulbs and the 2 on the ends. That's 6, 50 watt bulbs which will draw 25 amps. You can use a 50 amp Bosch style continuous duty relay and trigger it with the interrupted backup light wire and switched power wire.

Awesome set of videos on the flatbed! I just finished a flatbed for a pickup and i felt like that was a ton of welding and grinding. All the little details are the things that eat up the most time. Again awesome build and looking forward to the finished product and the gooseneck build!

Very nice. Hope you are going to make some of the lights amber strobes. LED strobes are fairly cheap. If not now, at least add extra wiring. Also put a backup camera

You know, I have thought about doing that.... I'll have to experiment and see what I come up with. It's pretty cool that nowadays you can turn almost any light into a strobe with one of those little modules.

Very nice job! I was wondering, though, why you didn't install mudflap mount points at a point ahead of the forward axle? That would protect the tool boxes from the constant assault of normal road (and off road) crud that flies off the tires and is hurled forward. In addition, they would provide some protection to the tool boxes in the event of a tire blowout.

Very good idea, maybe I didn't show it well but I did do exactly that. I'll show more about that in a upcoming video.

I would follow the angle on the top of the headache rack.

I almost did but decided to go with the angle that you see in this video.

@@farmrigging4450 Well, it looks great! I'm a light nut too. The only thing I would add is backup sensors and a camera (cause I like them too).
