Thanks Alan for these brilliant views of the swing bridge and very interesting historical info', the drone footage is fantastic. I hope that you and Sally are doing well. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Thank you Stevie, we're both fine and hope you're keeping well. I was pleased with the end result and the drone footage is essential for this type of vlog, it really does add another dimension. All the best.
Hi Alan and Sally, looks as though you had pleasant Weather for this excursion. Loved the drone footage and a totally different perspective the many bridges I've seen from the narrowboaters angle..Another delightful short post ,takecareandenjoy your selves. Cheers from Canada where I'm progressing very well in my recuperation after my Srroke.
Hi Ralph. From this message, I realised I must have missed a message from you, which I’ve now found and responded to. It had been held back for review, I don’t know why. I’m sorry to hear about your stroke but pleased you’re making a good recovery. This episode was filmed some months back hence the good weather. All the best, thanks for keeping in touch. Take it easy, as you recover fully.
Another great vlog, thank you Alan and Sally. Yorkshire is such a nice place to visit. I drove past this swing bridge twice today as I went to Ermisteads Boys Grammar School in Skipton to watch their annual Christmas Concert. It was really good. My Grandson plays Cornet and is also in the choir. They raised over £4,000 towards new musical instruments. Merry Christmas to both of you.
Hi Harry, thank you for your appreciation. Sally and I recorded some narrative for a vlog there, so were there some time, and I took footage for use in a later vlog and later decided I had enough to make a short video. You must be a very proud grandfather. All the best for a very Merry Christmas, Alan and Sally.
Evening Alan, fascinating to look at these things close up, and I must say that the drone really helos you to appreciate just what amazing structures they are. Thank you for sharing...🍷🍷
Evening Steve, the drone certainly adds another dimension. Sally and I were there much of the day, as we were filming the narrative for another video. All the best, take care 🥂
Alan, Thoroughly enjoyed this. Was at my son's just last week and he took us to see the illuminations in Blackpool. As soft southerners we had never seen it. Bradley Bridge is a real engineering triumph. Happy Christmas both. Bob and Helen.
Hi Bob and Helen. Blackpool Lights are certainly well worth seeing, the first time I went, they weren’t on, as it was the wrong time of year! Merry Christmas to you both from Sally and myself. And many thanks for your card.
Good morning Alan. That was a very well presented look at the swing bridge. Really appreciate the effort and research you put into all your vlogs. It closed very precisely, good bit of engineering. Lovely to see the drone footage as well as ground level images. Have a great weekend, best wishes to you and Sally
Hi Paul, thank you so much for your kind words of appreciation, I was quite surprised at just how well the bridge closed. You too have a wonderful weekend and an even better Christmas. Best wishes from Sally and me.
Been following you for years now, feels like it anyway. The quality of your videos and editing is seconds to none. Keep it up buddy. Edit: I hope you go 4K one day for the extra touch :o)
Hi Eric, thank you so much for your appreciation, very kind of you to say. Some of my videos are partly filmed in 4k, I use several cameras, some of which have a lower resolution, I think that's why you don't see the videos marked as 4k. Cheers
Such a wonderful description in both general and specific facts to paint a picture of the history of this bridge, which swings again like never before!😂❤
Another enjoyable vlog. It’s always nice to see the canals and surrounding fields/towns that you give us the chance to view. Merry Christmas to the both of you.🌲🎅
Hi Mary Jane, thank you so much for watching and commenting, we're glad you enjoyed this vlog, all the best from both of us for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Alan and Sally x
Nice vlog Alan thought the drone shots were good some people overuse them but they were just right, Felt sorry for the bus wouldn't like to be in a cab on the meter there. 😂
Thank you Robert for your appreciation, the drone does add another dimension but I agree it has to be used with care. Swing bridges and level crossings cause delays for all modes of transport, drivers must get used to it. Cheers
Lovely drone footatage and info, just wondering if an emergency vechile, blue lights flashing was approaching and boats were close, who would have right of way if bridge was open.would be a panicky situation
Thank you. If the bridge was already open, the emergency vehicle would have to wait for it to be closed. If a boater heard an emergency vehicle approaching before opening, I would hope they would wait and let it past. There are a lot of these swing bridges on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, let alone elsewhere. Cheers
Thank you so much Phil, kind of you to say. There won't be a 4 Go Narrowboating at Xmas this year, it's quite involved to arrange and we're not all available. Cheers
Very interesting, I enjoyed all the variations. In your experience, is it easier to pull the boat through by hand or to 'drive' it through? Thank you & byeeeeee for noooooow! :)
