Tuco's actor is incredibly good. I feel like you can't see his potential in other series where he has appeared
Indeed, that’s my main takeaway from this video. I especially love what he does at 6:17!
I guess him having to be so intense as Tuco was very taxing to do especially for longer periods of time, if we factor in multiple takes then its understandable why he didnt want to continue.
Edit: He also said he was recalling seeing someone get shot in front of him when he was twelve, so its mix of real grim emotions and channeling this crazy all over the place rage and emotional bipolar behaviour Tuco has.
Oh, wow! I didn't know that!
I was so shocked to see him appear in Mayans MC. It was so random and it was such a a minor role lol he was essentially a prison inmate that appeared in the final few episodes and he was so calm.
He survived the Siege of AR-558. (ST-DS9)
If should be known that Raymond Cruz didn't give Arron Paul the concussion. The way they filmed it, Arron ran into the prop door.
Great! Don’t want to get Raymond in trouble! 😁
@@betterwatchtv Imagine spelling Aaron wrong
Doesn’t really matter, none of the information being relayed hinges on spelling a name correctly. I guess if someone wanted so badly to put someone down for no reason they could point that out but that’s insane and I couldn’t imagine someone doing that
@@michaelblaine6494 wasn't talking to you, smooth brain
@@allwoundup3574 no but he was talking about you bud
6:47 i love Hector's little smile so much
Haha, yeah! 🛎️
Wow. The SOS caught me off guard, that's so cool. Another great video, I want a burrito now. Hopefully I don't get ricen poisoning
Thanks!! A burrito does sound good… 🌯
Raymond Cruz was filming his episodes for "The Wire" around the same time as he was for "Breaking Bad" - pretty much a 16-hour shift every day for about a couple of weeks straight. That was also what prompted him to decide to have his character killed off on "Breaking Bad".
Ah, makes sense!
It was The Closer not The Wire.
@@auntie_coviet8813 Thanks!
@@auntie_coviet8813 That it was. I stand corrected.
When I first saw Tuco die, it was pretty surprising, because I loved Raymond Cruz's acting in the couple episodes he was in. Happy that he came back in Better Call Saul.
Yeah! I guess it helped establish that nobody is safe!
@@betterwatchtv I guess so.
1 detail you missed or forgot to include! At the dea pep rally scene, Hank mentions “Tuco may have shot one Dog Paulson” and Nacho talks about this in BCS about the piece of skull lodged in his shoulder from Tuco lie detector-ing and shotgunning Dog. Great ties between BCS and BrBa!
True! I’ll have to mention it when it comes time to discuss that BCS episode! 🙂
Awesome as always 🎉and you’re definitely right, Tuco should’ve noticed the burrito was rolled badly - SOS by Hector was a great detail, never thought he’d communicate in Morse code
Thanks! Yeah, I don't know when they started the other system of communication, but Tuco wouldn't be patient enough for that.
Hector liked his 40's war movies too - he was watching "The Bridge On The River Kwai" in one episode at the nursing home when Gus visited him. Probably how he was familiar with using Morse code in the first place.
Jesse’s car bouncing is supposed to be like tuco’s heart notice after shot it’s slows to a stop
Yeah, great detail! Thanks!
7:54 He is added on top, you can see the rest of the scene shifting a bit (camera moved?) while he stays perfectly in place
Yep, I agree with you! Thanks!
Once again, a fantastic video full of ACTUALLY interesting and new facts!
And i love your little creative inserts, like the "What If Walt went to Mexico" edit in the middle there.
Keep up the amazing work!
Thank you, and welcome!!
Love these videos! Keep em coming
Thanks!! Working on it!
6:41
That cut is unreasonably funny
🛎️
03:05 i know everyone felt like Skylar at that very moment 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣 Yep!
Great video as always! Keep it up
Thanks!
Imagine if they HAD shot Tuco and killed him and then tried to drive off in Jesse's car w/ Hank rolling up!
That would have been something!
I like the pop-up comments on this one and great observations. 👍 The flash-forward to Mexico was also a nice touch.
Thanks, Aaron!
This is the moment where the ricin arc gets better and better. Bravo Vince
😂
for that last shot when tuco's on the floor, you can tell his image along with the ground is superimposed on the shot since the camera shakes slightly at one point. while hank and the car move with the camera's motion, tuco and the ground do not.
Good eye!
BrBa's episode titling is the greatest. Isn't rare for a title to have 2+ applications to the episode. [This one is a good example. Tuco''s grill. Tuco grilling (questioning) the fvck out of Walt n Jesse in his desert hideout. Tuco grilling dinner (fajitas?)] Then of course there's episode titles' relations to one another. (Bug, Fly.... 38-snub, Shotgun.... Peekaboo, I See You)
Yes! I don’t know if you’ve seen, but I have a series dedicated to the title meanings: th-cam.com/play/PLSH61zq6XY8fby91i1s-cLpJ1SwBaM9m8.html I hadn’t thought about 38-snub vs. Shotgun and Peekaboo vs. I See You, though!!
Loved that Malcolm in the Middle segue.🤣
Thanks! 😄
Epic video
Thanks! 🙏
I've already watched the directors commentary of this episode, but I honestly dont know why when Jesse shot Tuco I was expecting
*boop*
"As payback for the concussion, Aaron Paul actually shot Raymond Cruz through the stomach. The director, Charles Haid, left it in."
🤣 You never know!
Also, oh my god that alternate ending with Tuco is amazing lmaoo, I love all the different clips and the hazy yellow filter over it, amazing C:
Haha, thank you!
Master Roshi is sitting next to Hank when he's trying to get his coworkers excited.
😂 He’s also In Better Call Saul (and four other episodes of Breaking Bad)!
more! 🙌
Okay!
3:21 all these years later and I can’t fathom how anyone could hate chili powder
🤣 Maybe it’s an unnecessary burn in his nose?
5:10 that image is just funny to me for some reason
😂 As Walt would say, Jesse looks like their typical clientele!
You mentioned the episode that covers the least amount of time, but which covers the most? I would imagine one of the later ones as most of walts time in NH is skipped
Yes, it appears to be Granite State at 5.5 months, narrowly beating out Gliding Over All at 5 months!
5:57 i can’t believe Hector “Tío” Salamanca did that to Tuco's Burrito how rude of him 😡
It took a long time to make that!
Raymond Cruz in that final shot looks to be a still frame cutout. Perhaps it was a shot they had to do again for whatever reason but he was already gone, maybe they just didn't like his position in the original framing, maybe his breathing was noticeable, or the makeup didn't look great, but if you look at the bottom right it's very obvious that it's a frozen image on the bottom because the film grain (BB was shot on film) Doesn't move. It may have been taken from an angle of when he was pushed into the hole, or perhaps it's from one of the takes of Hank walking up to him, but again it didn't work for some reason, so they just cut out the one frame and tracked it to the subtle movement of the camera, and assumed it was good enough looking to fly by most viewers without a second look.
Watching the shot again, the lighting suggests it was from that take. I bet his breathing was just too noticeable, so they cut out one still frame, scaled it up a bit to cover any of his movement, and called it a day.
Yep, I completely agree! Great analysis!
@@betterwatchtvI also just noticed that at precisely 7:56, the camera filming Hank and the car seem to be bumped slightly, while Tuco lays flat and still, unaffected in the frame's motion.
Yep! It’s pretty funny what was considered “good enough,” although it was a long time ago *and* early on in the show.
07:24 it's weird that Hank can't identify Tuco and refers to him as Jesse Pickman, when he literally has picture of him back at the office. I mean we know he doesn't know Jesse yet, but he knows Tuco and had a long gaze at him, enough to identify who he was, before he steps out of the car...
🤷♂️ I thought he could only see the back of his head, and just assumed due to the car.
@@betterwatchtv could be that that...
I’m surprised you didn’t point out the scene were Walt’s picture was shown under the wanted text
Ahh, yes, I should have! Thanks!
@@betterwatchtv oh never mind that was a different episode I’m a dumb ass.

Wirklich? Da bin ich anderer Meinung. They’re not too much and help separate each detail
Fand's auch gut
Thanks for the feedback! Do you think it would be better if they were slightly softer?
3:31 How is no one talking about this bit ?? That was brilliantly hilarious haha
Well thank you for appreciating and mentioning it! 😁
