Hi Eric Easi-fix is an Irish company. We have a house with 100 easy fix cubicles and mats fitted with 6 years. No problems with them

Wow those cows sleep on water beds? That’s crazy. So it has to be so important happy cow happy milk. I doubt people realize how much goes into making milk or other dairy products. Farmers deserve so much thanks for feeding all of us. Thank you man . I see the guys building are Amish. My house was built by Amish people and they had no power tools it was amazing the speed and quality at which it was built.
Gotta keep the ladies happy. So good to see that farmers respect the animals enough to make them comfortable.

Grew up right down the road from CK manufacturing. Now we have used them for gates on the farm in north central PA. Good company and good products.
That new bedding looks a lot nicer too.

Lauri Carpenter but they are using power tools. I thought the Amish don’t use electricity/power tools
@@MrSnicklesnickle they could be mennonites they are a little less strict than the Amish and some Amish settlements have different rules and are allowed to use power tools
The Amish rules can be very confusing. I’ve seen videos of a baler being pulled by a team of horses, but have a gas engine powering the baler.
I didn’t even give the power tools a thought but you’re right they don’t use electric tools. Oops sorry.
@@MrSnicklesnickle I’ve seen Amish use power tools outside of the community. They do jobs for people for a wage, but don’t bring the tools home. It can be confusing.

I was so surprised when black liquid started gushing out of the beds when the guy cut them open! Is that really water? I guess after 10 years it’s possible for it to turn black... interesting.
@@3DegreesNorth638 they very well may some other liquid or additives in the fluid to stop bacteria and mold growth?
I am not wanting to start any controversy, but its not like they have any option if they want to lay down :( They laid down because they are use to doing it. I don't see hard rubber, even with a little pad under it being more comfortable than a waterbed, but then, I am not a cow :P Being easier for the farmer is not necessarily better for the cows.
We've heard you talk about how them old waterbeds had bedding built up underneath them. I NEVER though that there would be as much stuck underneath them as there was!
Definitely cow approved, seeing all of them laying down just shows how great these new beds are. Very happy cows there!

Those stalls look great now and must contribute to cow health. Wish we had them around when I was milking. Many times we'd see cows develop lumps from banging themselves on the steel pipes.

I just bought 92 new cubicles like the ones you took out! I was considering the easiflex ones but opted for the steel solely on price. I am still shopping for mats and I love the new easiflex ones but they are twice as much as the 32mm Mayo mat so I am in two minds think I might go back to easiflex and try to beat a better price out of them, please give us a update in the next few days as I need to make a move and can't delay to long. , cows look very happy I must say! An Irish fan by the way.

Great video Eric, that update stall job seems like it will work out well, love the guy operating two drills, that was epic, the cows seem happy and easily adjusted with a slight investigative approach to their new bedding. as You say, a happy cow is a good milker, who would have ever known, makes sense though
Yeah- the worker with TWO hammer drills is amazing. Most of us have trouble handling one.

Im from pa and we always get the amish/Mennonite to help build things! Best quality around! And fast workers!

Looks really smart Erik. My uncle and mum always say when cow have full belly and all lay down and cutting is a sign of a happy content cow. You have a full section laying happy. It was nice to see on the first day. Look forward to hearing how they work for you. Great video

That's cool that those were Amish guys doing that. Maybe my understanding of those guys is outdated, but it's also cool to see them using modern technology.

Hey Eric, if you notice cow manure on edge of many beds, adjust neck rail slightly back towards the alley. Will help them lay right. Wanted to just share.

Nice to see two different products made by two different Irish companies being installed on your farm. You installed cow mats in cubicles a few months ago made by Mayo Cow comfort and now these cubicles by Easyfix
I have the same stall dividers and water beds you took out. Not going to drag anybody through the mud but I’ve been shopping dividers and mattresses too.

You’re going to love the flex stalls. Had CK install then in my tie stall barn in July and had some of the same crew working here as your barn. Cows are definitely laying down more and they have stretch room now.
