Luckily Luke was able to revive a few fish, but he knows he should be paying more attention to the fish since they're living creatures. Luke doesn't hide his mistakes additionally, he could and we would never know, but he does indeed post them as a lesson for himself/his followers so that they hopefully see this as a reminder to set timers for things like acclimatisation, water changes, etc. We really can forget the simple things in life and sometimes that's a result of being busy with other tasks, or being distracted whilst trying to get things out of the way

That’s OK we all make mistakes! And most importantly, we learn from them! ❤ I had a similar experience when cleaning a 30 gallon aquarium I had over 200 guppies when I put them in the tank the first couple of days they were fine, but there was a spike, and they all died

Then my sister told me to get a house plant and bury her in it. So I did. It started to get sick because my mom put it near one of the house plants that was sick, and I cried again because I thought my “hamster” was gonna die for a second time. But I thought quickly on my feet, moved the plant, and trimmed all of the sick leaves off. Within a month, my plant was back to normal. I just moved into my first apartment last month, and as a house warming gift, my mom gave me my plant. I literally love that plant like it’s one of my kids-which btw I have two kids so my plant is basically like their “big sister” 🤣 But trust me- almost all plants can be saved when they’re dying! Do some research and try to find some at home methods to help! My husband got me a bouquet of flowers and I forgot about them and they started dying, and he got upset at me about it, and after some research I found that trimming the stems, putting them in ice water, and putting in a mixture of sugar, water, and a very tiny bit of bleach brought them back to life! The sugar helps feed the plant, the water dilutes it, and the bleach keeps the sugar from causing mold! You’d be surprised how durable plants can be when they’re on their last leg. Just a quick Google search and you can probably(hopefully!) find a way to bring your plant back to good health (:

You have so many fish we might not have noticed. You could have said anything happened with those fish, but you told us the truth. I wish more people and companies were like you. I have a bunch of alarms because my bad memory lol I get what it's like to forget to set one and having to pay for it just mintues after it should have gone off. I know you will take this mistake and turn it into a lesson well learned. You're a wonderful person

You could’ve just not mentioned it and we’d be none the wiser, but instead you made sure to say you made a mistake and how you made it, and it’s proof to us that you care about the fish and feel bad about what happened. A similar thing happened to me during a heatwave this year. A bacteria bloom appeared overnight after a water change, and I lost all of my fish except for one pea puffer. 2 others did initially survive but then died the next day. I had to do a full deep clean, including a bleach wash for my substrate and ornaments.
I got my first pet fish last week after a flowerhorn in my home is recovering from a necrotic ulcer under my intervention. I got a ranchu with a kink in the lower back and it was pointed downwards when relaxed. I wanted to give it a good life. It's mouth was aligned with the ground. It had no feeding issues and it was always hungry. Other than mobility issues, it was healthy. It ran out of oxygen and the carbon dioxide level built up to twice the level I've ever measured in the flowerhorn's tank. I turned off the aerator in the flat tupperware container cos it was too loud. Worst of all I got a meter that measures oxygen levels, and I knew it's oxygen levels was low a few hours I brought it home. I also have a carbon dioxide test kit. But I didn't use them to go through the reasons why it was scrambling along the edges of the water surface. It was my fault it passed this way. I feel your loss.
Yeah I think a lot of us who saw that had a feeling something like this was going to happen eventually. It was a lot sooner than expected though, especially with the warnings people have on the last bucket video!
You definitely taught me something new today, should I ever own goldfish. The fact that you even knew immediately what you did wrong shows the knowledge you have. Much respect!

You'll be severely disappointed with that mentality. If you want the best but don't expect nor prepare for the worst, you'll break when it happens. It will be harder to bounce back.

I had shocked mine with accidentally making the water too hot in the tank during a water change and killed my entire muti-generation-fully-planted-self-sustainable tank that I had worked on for years!! I'm still devastated and it's been 10 years I had like 30 fish in there too😢😢
Hey could be worse, I did the same thing in a stocking truck with freshwater salmon and ended up killing 800 lbs of salmon because I forgot to turn on the aerators on the tank.

A slight temperature change is not gonna kill them.. in the wild temperature changes quickly sometimes so you're fine. You should have had an aerator stone in that bucket. any fish hobbyists know that one...

Dude has made a lot of mistakes over the years, I get it he’s a fish breeder, but I just hope Luke doesn’t turn into one of those real ugly breeders who pushes it to the extreme and has little regard for the well-being of the fish and prioritizes profit over general well-being. @@wonder-wizard567 Goldfish are so hardy. You can freeze a goldfish in ice and revive them; they can hibernate. Acclimation is only relevant for tropical fish.
