@@ethannursalim7796 How is he "getting too comfortable"? 😅He simply stated he forgot to set a timer, things like these can happen to anyone, even if you're not in a fish profession, you can still simply forget to set timers on certain things... it's just a human thing to make mistakes like that.
Luckily Luke was able to revive a few fish, but he knows he should be paying more attention to the fish since they're living creatures. Luke doesn't hide his mistakes additionally, he could and we would never know, but he does indeed post them as a lesson for himself/his followers so that they hopefully see this as a reminder to set timers for things like acclimatisation, water changes, etc. We really can forget the simple things in life and sometimes that's a result of being busy with other tasks, or being distracted whilst trying to get things out of the way

@@cloudbasedbearI'd agree tho that when you get too comfortable, more mistakes can happen (seen this in the fish hobby and my job in the medical field).
I don't agree with that person that he's preaching more than practicing. Like you said, we're human. We make mistakes. It's unfortunate, but even professionals can make mistakes (especially when they get too comfortable). We just have to try to learn from it.

@@unbroken_lynx8900I had a dwarf hamster that lived for almost four years! (Which in case you didn’t know, is extremely rare). When she died, I had such a hard time saying goodbye. I cried and cried. Then my sister told me to get a house plant and bury her in it. So I did. It started to get sick because my mom put it near one of the house plants that was sick, and I cried again because I thought my “hamster” was gonna die for a second time. But I thought quickly on my feet, moved the plant, and trimmed all of the sick leaves off. Within a month, my plant was back to normal. I just moved into my first apartment last month, and as a house warming gift, my mom gave me my plant. I literally love that plant like it’s one of my kids-which btw I have two kids so my plant is basically like their “big sister” 🤣
But trust me- almost all plants can be saved when they’re dying! Do some research and try to find some at home methods to help!
My husband got me a bouquet of flowers and I forgot about them and they started dying, and he got upset at me about it, and after some research I found that trimming the stems, putting them in ice water, and putting in a mixture of sugar, water, and a very tiny bit of bleach brought them back to life! The sugar helps feed the plant, the water dilutes it, and the bleach keeps the sugar from causing mold! You’d be surprised how durable plants can be when they’re on their last leg. Just a quick Google search and you can probably(hopefully!) find a way to bring your plant back to good health (:

A similar thing happened to me during a heatwave this year. A bacteria bloom appeared overnight after a water change, and I lost all of my fish except for one pea puffer. 2 others did initially survive but then died the next day. I had to do a full deep clean, including a bleach wash for my substrate and ornaments.

I got my first pet fish last week after a flowerhorn in my home is recovering from a necrotic ulcer under my intervention.
I got a ranchu with a kink in the lower back and it was pointed downwards when relaxed. I wanted to give it a good life.
It's mouth was aligned with the ground. It had no feeding issues and it was always hungry. Other than mobility issues, it was healthy.
It ran out of oxygen and the carbon dioxide level built up to twice the level I've ever measured in the flowerhorn's tank.
I turned off the aerator in the flat tupperware container cos it was too loud.
Worst of all I got a meter that measures oxygen levels, and I knew it's oxygen levels was low a few hours I brought it home.
I also have a carbon dioxide test kit.
But I didn't use them to go through the reasons why it was scrambling along the edges of the water surface.
It was my fault it passed this way.
    I feel your loss.

Hey Luke, seems like you're being a lot more careless lately. That's not to sound rude, but just a reminder that these are living creatures and it's you're responsibility to make sure that you're properly looking after them. This could have 100% been prevented, learn from your mistakes and do better in the future!

a baby and a gold fish is incomparable, a baby can actually stay in a bath tub for hours, and when you shower them you NEED to do it yourself, babies aren't going to fuckin shower themselves
also he isn't gonna get 32 babies bruh

@@jackyy3the principle is responsibility. sure, you can’t compare your own child to 30 fishes, but this is still neglect that some people would never possibly let happen. if there’s lives on the line, ANY lives, it’s genuinely quite hard to mess up in this manner.
