That's exactly what's wrong there there needs to be an open ditch running on an angle through the low spot on that upper field it may screw the field up and make it into two harder pieces to work but it will dry it out and gain all the land back

Come on Duffy your smarter than that. Agriculture in this country was founded on the mold board plow.
If you don't mind the extra pass to fit it off, nothing wrong with plowing. To each their own. Plowing that sod under is the only way to go.
Our fore fathers had a plow, disk drag and a packer .
You did a good job last year, you were just three weeks late getting it in.
All the other toys are nice, but you need to turn acres to make them pay. Same as with your corn planter , it's a good one .
Like you said you would be shitten high cotton in the 80s and 90s. Don't let the big boys talk you into a bunch of payments. BE HAPPY AND BE SATISFIED WITH WHAT YOU HAVE. YOU HAVE A DAUGHTER AND HOPEFULLY A WIFE SOME DAY. YOU CAN'T FARM AND WRENCH ON JUNK
    300 DAYS A YEAR.
    TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFE.
HOPE YOUR CORN IS ALL IN AND POPPING THROUGH THE GROUND. GOOD LUCK 🤞🤞

The top layer is permeable (loam) average 8 to 10 inches, the next layer is semipermeable layer average down 24 to 42 inches, the next layer is impermeable layer starting at the24 to 42 inches obviously there are aberrations. A fuel oil dealer who built his business told me recently that fuel oil generally moves laterally, most likely in permeable and semipermeable layers. Recently they donated a penny a gallon for a month, the check was for 24 thousand plus dollars. So I think he knows what he’s talking about. Anyway, I need to make sure that you know you need someone you can rely on in your area who can handle dealing with nuisance animals such as beavers muskrats, and other invasive species that you have on the farm, they will destroy your corn crop as well, especially beavers have muskrats they love corn.
Because you do have beavers, you will need to keep an extra eye on your dog, dog beavers will attack your pets and livestock if they feel threatened, especially around the dance site you also need to get rid of those beavers as soon as possible, as it will start building in your pond and destroying your field once you see one you have more probably more than one nuclear least common for three beavers at this point beavers are just like overgrown rodents they must be removed.
So I was right, you do have a problem with beavers just remember, they also cause problems with your tile system they will block them up and cause major problems, you need to get that fixed as I mentioned, you need to get someone good with trapping beavers and other animals that degenerate farmland I was correct.
    Sincerely!

Over time plowing will impact organic matter, I know last time you were laughing your -- off , you need to do a little research to become a little more familiar with plowing and organic matter. I noticed you’ve read my posted 17 and 32 minutes ago and are countering your post with microbial activity.

@@davdhynes3518 no I don't need to at all plowing does not change your organic matter at all how would it. Lmao do you even have any idea what organic matter is it would be impossible just from working the soil to destroy organic matter. Organic matter is simply decomposing plant tissue plowing under his corn stalks is going to improve his organic matter. Lmao.

You can't kill organic matter😂 Plowing is the best weed killer, you turn the dirt upside down, and you also start breaking up sod from grass faster.. In a world without roundup and roundup ready seeds and such, Plowing is must. There's a lot more to things than just saying plowing is bad.. Modern plows can have a wide working width, shallow working depth be driven pretty fast. Kverneland has their ecomat, and ovlac has a similar concept. Basically a 7 furrow Kverneland ecomat is a mounted plow and can be pulled by a medium/Large frame 6R deere..

You can burn organic matter up over time with continuous tillage.

@@Heimerviewfarm he was referring to about the organic matter, another important factor is mycorrhiza fungus is the largest organism, they have a somewhat symbiotic relationship with plant feeding each other. I have read they can be three to five miles long plow will compromise them.. The real purpose of chisel plows is to be used in the fall, forget exact percentage but it’s purpose is to bury about 40 % trash and leave the soil more intact to prevent erosion.

@@Heimerviewfarm not sure where these people got the notion plowing and cultivation does not burn up organic matter. The reason for his great corn yields on some of his field was due to the high organic matter from not being plowed for years.

@@Heimerviewfarm you cannot affect organic matter by plowing lmao. The worst thing about moldboard plowing is it does destroy microbial activity and it takes a little while for it to recover.

Am I the only one that sees the no-till guys are the agricultural equivalent to vegans? They go out of their way to tell everyone at every posable opportunity and they insist you are an idiot if you don't follow their silly ideas! Only thing worse would be a no-till vegan! 😂😂😂😂😂😂

I’m always envious of y’all’s scenery. 🫡. Would some grass waterways do you any good with those wet fields?
