I grew up eating meat and learning that it's acceptable to call some animals pets and consider others food. And now I look back and I don't understand how I believed it. As I don't understand how I believed the lie that you must eat animal protein to be healthy. My only regret after becoming vegan is that I didn't do it sooner... Thank you for your videos, they are most inspiring!
I used to say I could never be vegan, that it was impossible, but now after taking the “green pill” (lol) and learning the truth, I can’t imagine ever going back. Knowledge truly is power. #Vegan4Life
I said I could never live without chicken, that was my only reason for years! But, yet I haven't eaten it for over three years...and don't even think about it. I used to miss eggs, until my pet parakeet started laying eggs. And I took one out one day and held it. Then, I realized this came out of her butt!!!!!! Yeah, over eggs now.
I don't like when people say they can't give up bacon. It sounds funny but ever since I was little, after I saw Charlotte's Web and Wilbur, I couldn't really eat bacon. Pigs are so cute and I couldn't eat them.
I went vegan overnight after watching earthlings 5 years ago, I'll never go back. You lady's should make a coffee table book and put ine of your thumbnails on the cover, this show is the greatest idea ever for vegans by vegans, it is so important, please keep it going!!
When people say they can't live without meat, I always ask them to eat meat without seasoning. It doesn't taste good. What makes it taste good is the seasoning. if you eat raw fruit/vegetables it has a taste, but raw meat doesn't taste special. You can make everything taste amazing, if you season it right. This is also the reason, why people can't tell the difference between meat and fake meat.
I am a 58 year old mother of 2 girls most likely your ages. I have been vegan for 8 years primarily for health reasons. I am learning so much from all four of you. I love The Vegan View! It is thought provoking and so well done. Thank you so much! I also follow all of you individually! Well done ladies!!!!
Absolutely LOVE this logic! Years before I went vegan when I was a child I remember asking my mom when I saw people fishing that “mom don’t those fish feel hurt when they have a hook in them?” And now knowing what I know now everything makes sense. That’s why veganism makes sense to me. It’s crazy because even as a child I knew but society conditions us to think differently
I honestly didn't think fish felt pain. My husband was sure of it. After I went vegan and the subject came up it blew his mind to learn that fish DO feel. How brainwashed have we been???
I LOVE each of you individually & as an entity. The stars aligned & brought y'all together. The input each one of you contributed made me emotional. Sometimes it's scary or difficult for people to allow certain emotions to surface. Everybody's busy in different ways & can become complacent in too many areas of life. There's so much that needs to change in our country, on our planet it's overwhelming. BUT, BUT, it is actually VERY easy to make changes as an individual. It really is easy. Be kind to start. This will lead to more compassion. The effect will start to snowball and branch out. I know I'm repeating what y'all said but I'm so excited! I agree completely that yes obviously we all are meat as humans at some point but (we do NOT have to keep doing it) if people want to go that deep I don't recall learning that Adam & Eve roasted a leg of lamb over an open fire in the GARDEN of Eden. No one take offense, please. The Garden of Eden is only one example/reference. I'm being cheeky yes but serious. We are supposed to improve as we go through generation after generation. We all deserve to experience self actualization. *Sigh* Ok. Now my fur babies want to take me to the park. I will watch this again. Thank y'all❣️ xoxo xoxo Have a great week.
I'm so thankful that I found you guys! I'm so happy that all of this has finally clicked for me, I wish it would've sooner. It's so frustrating that people don't understand what seems so obvious and its so hard not to see people differently now but I love being able to watch people like you
My dad told me while we were arguing (this is when I was crazy passionate) that he LOVES animals and that he is an animal lover. I said, "dad, if you loved animals you wouldn't eat some of them....". He screamed at me and called me a bigot and how I did not know anything about compassion or love. We haven't talked about veganism since. I think his subconscious realized something that day...
aw wow! I've been in situations like that, where you just feel so passionate and like the other person couldn't possibly say what they're saying if they truly "understood." It can be hard. I TRY not get emotional and yell whenever possible, because people really get defensive, especially about animals because they love their pets so fiercely. It's a disconnect that's been ingrained since birth so it takes a long time to unravel and can be very painful for so people, hence his lashing out. Keep trying, always in a loving way, or just live by the happy, healthily example that you are trust that it is a powerful message in and of itself
Thanks for your kind advice!! After that conversation I switched up how I presented veganism and instead just speak of it when someone asks. It was hard at first to not tie it into their conversations about dead animals, but I learned that my comments did nothing but tear me away from my family. By watching videos like the vegan view, earthling ed, and ellen fisher, I started speaking about veganism in a much more constructive way that didn't make people upset. Thanks for all you ladies do for the community!! xoxoxo
I really liked your comment on our ancestors using meat as a sign of wealth. I have done a lot of family history research, and my ancestors were pretty wealthy (lawyers, bankers, had servants), and on most of their death certificates, the cause of death is "atherosclerosis." My ancestors died of heart disease, most likely caused by their "wealthy" diet.
oh wow, so interesting! Yeah, it's weird how we put emotional value on food sometimes. We all want to feel secure, grounded, safe, and provided for and it's interesting to think that we "prove" to ourselves that we have security based on material/animal possessions. It's not the food that makes us feel safe or wealthy, but unconsciously we've believed it's part of it for so long. Ah, humans...
I’ve commented this on several of your recent videos, with no response, and this video relates to it the most I think. Have you guys heard of the word “Vystopia” that a Vegan Psychologist created? I think it really helps define, and give a word to how you may be feeling, while living in a non-vegan world. Give it a quick google/TH-cam search, it’s a fascinating word, and it might even make a great episode to talk about it :)
I love every topic that you ladies share. You bring the information to the table in such a respectable and non-confrontational way. Keep up the good work. :)
Hi, I wanted to let y’all know that I look forward to these videos every week! I love hearing each and every one of your thoughts on the subject. I can relate to the comments from family, at New Years, my uncle went to a farm, purchased a goat, and killed it himself. I have a video topic request that I hope y’all can discuss one day :) #1: I’ve recently been reading about congress deciding what to do with the wild horses that are being captured so ranchers can have the land. It’s still sort of confusing to me so it would be wonderful if y’all could tell viewers all about it? #2 something that also interests me is the fact that a lot of the animals we eat are made into animated films for children. e.g. finding Nemo, Ferdinand, barn yard, Bambi, etc Keep up the good work!!
I’m so happy this channel exists. Great point about how easy it is to take a hard stance against issues that have little to no influence on your daily life. I’ve been vegan now for about 4 to 5 months and I’ve never felt better in my body and in my spirit.
honestly that miley cyrus quote has stuck with me for months and it's so cool to hear it from you all as well! You are beautiful inspiring women and I hope you continue to this channel and your individual ones because you're helping so many people!
The cognative disonnance is real in society we all have it towards animals at some point but at one point it's important to realize these are animals. My mom loves animals and watches animal planet all the time but won't blink an eye at a burger. I read a comment on Instagram that said chickens aren't really sentient...I was like waaah?
I want to show all my meat eating friends this video! I try to make this argument but I haven’t gotten the point across yet but you ladies laid it out so clearly and easy to understand. Thank you 😊🙏🏼💕
I know what you mean Dani, last year at thanksgiving my mom (knowing I'm vegan) showed me this video of a dead turkey not cooked yet dancing around and the videk said something about how happy the turkey is to be eaten or something. I was so mad! And hurt... I didn't know how to react...
Nisha, I am the same. I'm from Texas and used to feel so proud to eat meat! I look back and kind of think I was over proud because I was trying to convince myself it was right when I kind of knew it was weird/wasnt...
This is the first comment section I have ever seen about veganism without a single negative comment. This channel is so wholesome it makes me so happy. From a fellow vegan, thank you so much.
I think it goes beyond discriminating... Animal Agriculture is today's form of slavery.. They are imprisoned and tortured.. just like it was done to African people.. The big difference is that animals are voiceless and African people were able to break the chains! It is our responsibility to continue to pursue the freedom of all animals and stop cruelty!.. Great job!
This was so great. I am so glad that I am not the only one who's family is constantly challenging them. Most of my family is so kind and they make vegan meals for me but then I have one cousin that is always talking about how she wants to raise pigs to slaughter them and it makes me sooo incredibly upset but I pretend like she doesn't bother me because there is something seriously wrong if you think its cool to slaughter animals. She is just trying to get a rise out of me. I love each and every one of you girls. I think you are doing such a wonderful thing and I wish we could be friends!
This was such a good video. I think we need to educate children when they are still young. They are so open to veganism. I work with kids and I have to watch what I say around them because if I mention I don't eat meat and then start naming what I don't eat, they sometimes never realized that chicken nuggets are the same thing as chickens they see running around. But, the ones who do understand tell me how they want to go vegan but they don't know how. But, it isn't my place to say anything but I am not their parent.
Missleigh I am a teacher. I don't mention my diet to my students or colleagues unless the situation requires it. Because then they ask a lot of follow up questions. They wanna know why. If they offer me something to eat. I simply say no thank you. I don't eat meat. Or no thank you, I don't drink cows milk. People automatically feel judged by my mere presence.
Yes! Veganism is like religion or something. Why does what I eat affect you? Yes, I definitely try not to mention it unless they ask because kids will ask questions and then I think maybe they will tell their parents and it will somehow get back to me. One little girl was such an inspiration! She is about 9 years old and told her parents she was a vegan. But, her mom made me mad because she told me her mom told her fish wasn't meat and she had been eating fish. So, I told her that it was. But, she was so sassy and spoke her mind so I knew she wouldn't tell on me but speak out against eating fish from now on. I tutor kids as well so I haven't seen her in over a year. Amazing little girl!
hey girls!! as im watching this i have another question/topic for a future video! something that i struggle explaining to my mom is the vegan view on fish, eggs, etc. those "grey space" foods where, for example fish, its a bit more difficult to give the IQ argument!
Julia Nell the IQ argument should NEVER be used. All that matters is that animals could feel physical and emotional pain just like people. The IQ argument is an unfair one. There are people with intellectual disabilities, are they any less of a human being? No, of course not. We all have our purpose. We all have feelings.
When I used to prepare a Turkey for Thanksgiving.... I always got Very creeped out by washing it. It looked like something that I killed. It looked like a body. Now, Years later...I know why. 🌿💚
I think a lot of it is ignorance.. People don't like change and prefer being ignorant.. They don't want to hear it because it will cause a change, so they prefer the status quo.. it's so sickening!..
yeah, a lot of times I think it's fear of the unknown and anything that is "different." Most people are juggling a million things - busy schedules, work, bills, families, just being a grown up can be hard sometimes (lol) - so the idea of changing anything, especially something that they've grown up with like the food they eat, is scary and overwhelming. It's a natural reaction but it can definitely frustrating!!
Can you do a video on vegan Valentine’s Day treats? Valentine’s Day is coming up, me and my boyfriend are vegan and it’d just be cool to know different places you can get vegan chocolate, or vegan Valentine’s Day candy, ect and have those treats reviewed
Love your all's videos! I have been vegan for 10 months and my mother started about a month after me, we both eat the same very healthy diet and exercise frequently, she is taking a vitamin B12, but has had a lot of hair loss recently, she used to have very thick hair but it has become quite thin and dry. She dyes her hair but has always dyed her hair for the past several years the same color. She is getting discouraged and blames the vegan diet, and wants to return to eating animal products. Did any of you experience hair loss? Would love to see this in a video response, I would love tips! Thanks!
YogiGirl20 I has hair issues before when I was vegetarian. She should go to her doc and have her blood work done. I was iron deficient I take a daily multivitamin. Tell your mom not to throw out the baby with the bathwater. It may be a simple fix.
I like what was being said about the ripple effect. However unfortunately we don't have the time left to let people evolve to veganism over generations. It needs to happen ASAP because we're actually running out of time. We're predicted to have fishless oceans by 2048, and without the ocean supporting the ecosystem we will die. The bees dying out is worrying too because without them we'll only have a few years left. Every vegan needs to do absolutely everything they can do right NOW. If every vegan did activism we could speed up the movement's momentum and hopefully heal the planet.
I don't eat meat for 15 years now...and actually wanted to go vegetarian WAY before that as a child, but my parents wouldn't let me so I had to wait till adulthood. As a little kid I had an innate respect, I felt that it was wrong to eat animals...But I disagree with that quote! Yes, people who eat meat may not love and respect chicken/cows/etc, but they may love a lot of other animals that's not food! People tend to not only love cats, dogs and other pets, but most people love exotic animals like lions, zebras, pandas, koalas that are not eaten by humans or turtles, kangaroos etc that are may be eaten by some cultures by not theirs. Also, growing up in Eastern Europe, though I grew up in a large city, I had some friends living in villages raising animals. They had chicken and a few pigs or sthing. The animals were treated so kindly, had names etc...but yes, they were killed. They LOVED their animals, but yes, they believed we need meat and killed them for food. This is one fault of the vegan argument that there is a disconnect due to the meat industry, but it is not always the case, both with these friends and having traveled around the world in small villages in developing countries I didn't find this disconnect, they knew what goes on their plate and often felt affection for their animals...yet killed them.... When it comes to eggs and milk it is even more difficult of an issue. A former vegan friend of mine (she was vegan for 20 yrs) now eats eggs and dairy. From only one source. She lives in a tiny town (more like a village) and her neighbour has some chicken and a goat (or 2?). They are more than pets. They are family. Come into their house and treated with so much love. But yes, they take the empty eggs and sometimes take some milk... My technically only vegetarian friend now sometimes eats eggs and dairy from this only one source... I don't see anything wrong with it. Those animals are loved and respected, but taking those eggs is not vegan by the vegan police... I know this is not the norm though, and most get ther meat and dairy in nice packages from the store... On the other hand, I feel that I am lying if I say I love all animals. I respect them all I guess. I hate chicken...there. I said it. I worked on a farm where I had to take care of chicken. Sorry, but to me they are stupid, disgusting and filty animals, not even pretty and I never ever want to be around them. I still respect them and would never ever eat them or use them...but love them. No. There is this image of vegans who cozy up with all animals on farm sanctuaries, but sorry, you won't see me hugging a chicken or probably any bird any time soon.... I think respect is the key word here!
So many say they love animals but really mean they only love domesticated Animals.and yes Pigs are so intelligent, more than cats dogs etc.that people buy as pets. But most aren't educated on that. I think more education on it via technology will help. Our laws are set up to protect dogs and cats but not the cruelty going on every day. Now I judge myself for ever judging ppl like Michael Vick. Because me eating meat was no different
Yea but when people buy meat they aren't physically doing the slaughtering, hence the disconnect a lot of people have. If they had to do it themselves a lot of them would not be able to. Michael Vick personally physically tortured multiple animals, have you ever read the full reports on what he did? I feel like your comment trivializes the extent of his torture.
I'm from Alabama so a lot of my friends have no problem killing /hunting then eating their rabbits or deer or squirrel so I can't say that. And I by no means mean to trivialize his actions but as mentioned in the video we tend to look down o that but make excuses for the slaughter of animals for consumption. Other countries eating dogs isn't wrong but to us it is. A dog being ate tortured abused is no different than a pig being ate tortured or abused
M Taylor I understand what you mean about Vick. I was the same way when I was still eating meat judging people who harmed animals when the whole time I was PAYING someone to harm animals for me. Just because I wasn’t doing the dirty work didn’t make me any less guilty of the suffering of those animals. Vegan forever and never looking back, in honor of all the animals I supported the death of. That’s the LEAST we can do!
I loved this video, and it actually made me tear up a little. I have been a vegetarian for about 9-10 years. I eat mostly plant based, but I'm not ready to go full vegan (yet). I honestly never think about animals/ flesh as food at all just because it's so natural to me now, but this video reminded me how much disconnect there is for everyone else. It really hit home for why I started this lifestyle in the first place.
Caryn McGrenra good luck on your journey! Remember all the amazing subs for cheese and butter and milk that are healthier and don’t harm animals, heck I hated almond milk the first couple weeks I made the switch but now even the smell of regular milk makes me sick. Baby steps!!
I loved this video. Call me crazy, but was Nisha referencing Logan Paul? When the talked about ppl doing stupid stuff on the internet. I just think that’s kinda funny
Meat Eaters that post animal rights stuff on Facebook are so annoying! I have one who posted a video of pigs showing how badly there treated which normal I would be like yahy activism but she’s eats pigs !
I get really annoyed when people are so pro-pet, but so far from vegan. Even when organizations at my school raise money/stuff for a stray rescue that does good work, I am honestly turned off from supporting it because it is so hypocritical (of the people raising the money who continue to eat animals).
You are right no pets In China 😂
I used to say I could never be vegan, that it was impossible, but now after taking the “green pill” (lol) and learning the truth, I can’t imagine ever going back.
Knowledge truly is power.

YES!!! Same, love this! Maya Angelou said "When you know better, you do better." So true

I love that! My boyfriend stopped eating pork because he follows a pig on Facebook named Ester lol

TheSUPERHAPPY1 I love that definition! It’s spot on. It’s like waking up out of a dream and everyone else is still stuck in the dream!
omg Dani's dead dog comment in the group chat lmaooo girl i FEEL you
I recommend reading Melanie Joy's why we love dogs, eat pigs and wear cows for a deeper look at this topic
heather huelsmann Such a great book!
good to know! thanks

Everything you said is so spot on! I love the show, you're all so inspiring tackle such important topics. Keep it up xx
LOVE this one 👏🏼 Amen!
It’s so encouraging to watch your videos.

Nikki you mentioned a video about the dog and pig but did not put it down in the description box, I would love to be able to watch it and share it.
here ya go! it starts at minute 2:10 so fast forward if you want :) th-cam.com/video/ND2-mwoTVnk/w-d-xo.html
I really like what nisha said about the cecil the lion part. Love you girls
She's a smart cookie. I always love getting her insight and advice! We love you too!
Yeah, I thought that was really insightful.
Loved this video girls! Great job!!
Thank you! So glad you liked it
Couldn't agree more with you girls! Especially when you were talking about dogs... :(
Keep up the good work and lots of love from London! xx

Another BOMB episode - thank you!
yay glad you liked it!
Great video and congrats on the new studio!!
Thank you!!
I am NEVER disappointed after watching the vegan view! I went vegan 10 months ago and have never looked back! Love you guys and the videos! 💖
I absolutely love this 💗🌱 You all are so inspiring!
so amazing! I cant wait for that future too, I can feel it being true one day.
I really enjoyed this. Thanks very much!
Yes, that puppy/piglet video was stunning.....As in, I was stunned...
Great video! You girls are right on!I agree with you!
hey girls!! as im watching this i have another question/topic for a future video! something that i struggle explaining to my mom is the vegan view on fish, eggs, etc. those "grey space" foods where, for example fish, its a bit more difficult to give the IQ argument!
Julia Nell i cannot believe how many ppl don't think birds and fish are animals, what idiots...i have had ppl fight with me about it!
Julia Nell the IQ argument should NEVER be used. All that matters is that animals could feel physical and emotional pain just like people. The IQ argument is an unfair one. There are people with intellectual disabilities, are they any less of a human being? No, of course not. We all have our purpose. We all have feelings.
straightedge veganbel L😂L
Great episode!
When I used to prepare a Turkey for Thanksgiving....
I always got Very creeped out by washing it.
It looked like something that I killed.
It looked like a body.
Now, Years later...I know why.
🌿💚
Every single one ☝️ of u guys r amazing....subbed 💕❣️💞
I think a lot of it is ignorance.. People don't like change and prefer being ignorant.. They don't want to hear it because it will cause a change, so they prefer the status quo.. it's so sickening!..
yeah, a lot of times I think it's fear of the unknown and anything that is "different." Most people are juggling a million things - busy schedules, work, bills, families, just being a grown up can be hard sometimes (lol) - so the idea of changing anything, especially something that they've grown up with like the food they eat, is scary and overwhelming. It's a natural reaction but it can definitely frustrating!!
next thanksgiving i'm sending everyone pictures from Yulin china..thanks for the idea! you are a genuis dani!!!!!
You ladies are amazing. Keep it up.
Can you do a video on vegan Valentine’s Day treats? Valentine’s Day is coming up, me and my boyfriend are vegan and it’d just be cool to know different places you can get vegan chocolate, or vegan Valentine’s Day candy, ect and have those treats reviewed
Your video is thought provoking too.... Keep at it!
This is such great information, I'm going to share this. So many people just don't have the correct information. Keep up the good work ladies!!
LOOOOOOOVED this video!
I love this!
Most people don't want to face the truth - that we need dramatic change now, and should not procreate.
For us who are vegan but dont have kids yet, i video on tips of how to raise a vegan child i.e teaching them about veganism would be great!!
"Why someAnimals areFoodAnd some are friends
Nah, Michael Vick deserves to be judged, the extent of the torture he inflicted is unforgivable.
No different than what the factoring farming does. They don't humanely kill them. And I helped fund it by buying meat.
Interesting topics!!
Awesome video!!!
very real video
I just think that’s kinda funny
there are plant-based meats that are just as good
Meat Eaters that post animal rights stuff on Facebook are so annoying! I have one who posted a video of pigs showing how badly there treated which normal I would be like yahy activism but she’s eats pigs !
The thumbnail was a scam
I get really annoyed when people are so pro-pet, but so far from vegan. Even when organizations at my school raise money/stuff for a stray rescue that does good work, I am honestly turned off from supporting it because it is so hypocritical (of the people raising the money who continue to eat animals).
