I have had an absolutely horrible 2024 and have been in a deep depressive episode pretty much the whole year. I changed career paths, and now regret it a little. But I feel absolutely guilty because how could I regret something I thought I wanted? All I know is that I want to be happy again. And what makes me happy is reading books and telling anyone who would listen to my rambling. Which makes me want to start a book YT. Not sure, but I’m living through you Larry. I can confirm that a curse for true love does end happily and is based on the same characters. People just didn’t like that the story spent a lot of time tracking what the villain was doing and a little less on the two main characters. I actually thought all three books were good, But was a little disappointed by the final book. Still totally worth the read imo. This series is straight up fairy tale cuteness and I adored it.

the edge of darkness is so good! it’s up there with dark verse for me as my favorite mafia series (also i cannot wait to see you read my annotations for TOG but i’m slightly terrified)

so i literally just finished a curse for true love yesterday and say go for it! but a for warning that the 2 other books in the Caraval series have jacks in them. So you will be spoiled a little about what happens in those books when it comes to jacks.
Okay so Larry for once upon a broken heart, the first two books are great and I enjoyed the 3rd book but for some people it just didn’t meet their expectations possibly because of the journey that follows that book. I encourage you to read the Caraval series first to meet the Prince of Harts. Gives you background to what the hell he is talking about in OUBH. However, the problem with the 3rd book isn't lack of a "happy ending", it just doesnt meet expectations. In my opinion, you could use your time more wisely if you skipped Lightlark.
