Interprétation débarassée de toute emphasé, Herreweghe interprête Beethoven comme s il s agissait de Bach. Le resultat n est pas satisfaisant. Lemphase, l énergie explosive font partie de la musique de Beethoven. Herreweghe dénature Beethoven. Il l aplatit.

I'm afraid you just don't seem to get Beethoven if you expect him to sound like Verdi... Herreweghe's rendition of Beethoven (just like Harnoncourt's recordings) brings the internal tension of the work to the fore, but only to the discerning listener...
