Mozart wrote the Soprano part in this mass for his new wife Constanze Weber, and she sang it at the 1783 premier of the piece in Salzburg. Yes, Mozart was married to a singer. That likely helped him write his later operas.

@@SuperArkleo I'm sorry, I like your interpretation, but there are several excellent Mozart songs, however nothing compares to Bach. Mozart had everything in his hands (not everything), whereas Bach only had the basics up to .Today Bach is one of the most advanced relics of the piano. Musical offerings, 6-voice fugues, Bach was absurdly brilliant, but he doesn't have much recognition because no one sees that he didn't have nothing in he époc.

    • @SuperArkleo
      @SuperArkleo 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@p384 Surely, Beethoven knowing about this divine work by Mozart, had created his own "Missa Solemnis" which , indeed, is the hallmark of all religious music ever written.Incidentallly, I heared both with J.E.Gardiner conducting. Gardiner is magisian in the class by itself.

@@dervogelmann1125Bach was underappreciated in his own time, and he still is today, no doubt... But, it's funny how "Bach's greatest hits" ("Jesu joy of man's desiring", "Wachet Auf", "Christmas Oratorio", etc) are all derived from older Lutheran hymns, which in turn were derived from Gregorian chant... There is nothing new under the sun. Everything is derivative... Except Mozart. (As the character of HRE Joseph II in the movie 'Amadeus' put it; "you've shown us something quite new"!)

Of the few really great composers who ever lived, none is as lovable as Mozart. The sheer beauty of much of his music is extraordinary, and this is just one example of it.

A very fine performance of "Et incarnatus est". What a pleasure to see a beautiful young woman singing in such a relaxed manner. Her dress (which is also beautiful), her exposed shoulders, and her jewelry all might reveal the tensions and entanglements of a lesser artist, but this soprano seemed completely relaxed in throat and shoulders throughout. And the sound was beautiful and consistent throughout.
Also I've long been a fan of Ann Hallenberg, and deeply regret not seeing her live in any of her rare US performances.
I don't know this tenor, but I shall look him up, because i like him.
And everyone knows Peter Mattei as a very fine singer indeed.

7:35 that sounds really "Monteverdi Style" (or even Haendel's Halleluia!). Couldn't imagine Mozart behind this ! One of the best rendition I have ever heard btw.

LOL: as I watch this beauty (and, most of all, LISTEN) I notice that 92 people “didn't like” it.... I wonder who those 92 people are, and what on earth is in their very hearts......
THANK YOU for this GEM, vse vsad.
    MAGNIFICENT rendering / performance!!

Only 92? Astonishingly few, since, according to the great prychiatrist Horst Geyer, only 5% of the population are above a very modest average. But do not forget that art (especially music and painting) ist not meant for large masses, but the intellectual elite, regardless of the social sections/layers.

This reflects and represents the very heights of Western civilization, which is why it is also the target of such withering attacks and censorship by omission.

    Perfection in the making.
I love the voice production of the choir, soloists and the amazing work performed by the orchestra.
    The choir master was awesome.
I cannot even ignore the dictions.
    Super super amazing.
    Highly religious and operatic.

He is a wonderful exponent of Bach also. I have his Bach cantatas2 CD set fromthe Bach Cantata Pilgrimage begun on Christmas Day in 1999 in which over the year 2000 all of his surviving church cantatas2 were played celebrating 250 yrs since death of Bach

  • @garyberke6740

I think this mass was originally conceived as a wedding mass, written for his wife and possibly her sister to sing. The sister was the original love. That would account for the character of the laudamus te, for instance. That is one show piece, and that mezzo does it great justice. But the et incarnatus est is a true masterpiece and pretty well sung.

This is so deep -is it human ? In 2019 one could doubt if this was made of a terrestrial being. Where does this music comes from -if not somewhere which is not very present in this materialistic world. But it is there -it is a fact -And we CAN here it! Conclusion : We have such a lang way yet to go......
