I love the way you swatch your inks it’s so appealing. I’d love to just sit and watch you swatch your entire collection of inks or even just bottles. I’m always curious about what inks people buy full bottles of.
Thank you! I have actually been thinking of swatching my full collection to showcase a new product for organizing ink collection swatches, so I might just do that! I always love hearing what inks people love and why as well, it's one of the many reasons I am enjoying this youtube channel.
Those sailor "dip" nibs are just the hi ace neo nibs. The one they sell with the feed helps a lot. You're patience is amazing to get some of those inks to right with them! Great video and thank you!
L'Artisan Pastellier Encre Classique's "Gris de Payne" is similar to "Vert de Gris" but I think it's more blue. Maybe you'll like that more? I couldn't find part 1 of these two videos. 🤔 I just love Edwards Gardens so I didn't hesitate getting a bottle. 🥰😍 Love blue-green colours from emerald to teal, turquoise and aqua. 😇🩷🙏🙌
I too just sampled Henry David Thoreau and was quite surprised by the heavy sheen, the color is really lovely. I received my bottle of celadon cat and absolutely love it. Of the three pages I think I like the inks on the third page though to be honest the groupings just make all the inks stand out. I wrote a blog post about my recent goulet sample purchase and noted how I thought Iroshizuku Yama- Budo and Waeringeul's Cheshire cat seemed to be really similar there's just a slight tonal difference.
I'm so glad you ended up liking Celadon Cat! I do think it's nice how they ended up pairing pretty nicely. That's interesting to know about Yama-Budo and Cheshire Cat. I've always liked the color of Yama-Budo but the flow and wetness have always been too much to me. If Cheshire is similar but a bit calmer on that property that would be perfect for me. I'd love to check out your blog if you don't mind!
I’m new to fountain pens. Do you have tips on cleaning fountain pens if the ink has glitter or shimmer? I’m playing in the shallow end of the ink pool by only using well behaved inks.
That's a great question. First, I wouldn't put them in fine nibbed pens. Additionally, I would be careful about letting them sit too long unused with shimmer ink. I keep a log of what is inked because with doing all these reviews and me being scatter brained it's easy for me to forget haha. Lastly, I would start out with pens that are fully disassemblable. Glitter is most dangerous to the feed, which has a lot of nooks and crannies to get clogged. Start with something that lets you take the feed and nib from the collar so you can clean it out more easily. Hope that helps!
Like the Citrus Black, Alt-goldgrun and Rose Quartz. Interesting video. Thanks. Olivine is pronounced oliveen, by the way. And rouille -- kind of like roo-yeh. Thanks again.
I bought Herbin's Vert de Gris about 6 months ago and it looks much greener. The Blue Calanque I got is turquoise or bright teal, not even close to Bleu Pervenche. Have they changed some colors? There are both blue and turquoise swatches on Google.
Interesting, the Vert de Gris you sampled doesn't look like Vert de Gris. The sample you have looks more blue than turquoise/teal. Could just be the way the colors are showing on my monitor but if not that's unfortunate. It is one of my favorite inks. Can't get enough of it.
@@theinkarchivist If you want to get them a bit cheaper try to get them from Stilo e Stile. Their Sailor inks and products are way cheaper so I usually buy all my Sailor stuff from them. They're also the first to get new Sailor products for some reason. They had the 2nd gen Yurameku inks up for sale a full month before anyone else, same with the new Sailor Shikiori inks.

That Platinum Lavender Black looks really nice.
Platinum Lavender is nice. Nice show. Thank you.

My favourites are Vert de Gris and Citrus Black. I found that they make for a very nice combo

I love your glass nib pen. I did not catch where that can be bought. Thanks

@@theinkarchivist thanks for the tips. This will help when I decide to try a more challenging ink.
I'd really like to get my hands on platinum lavender black!
It is gorgeous! I am very tempted myself.
It’s a beautiful color but it’s an iron gall ink and I found it to be extremely dry
@@cd3694 good to know! Perhaps I can put it in my medium nib Benu pen, which is such a gusher!

The Yurameku inks are all 20ml, they're just expensive.
Oh wow that's a bummer.
