What if stakeholders ask for a sprint goal not related to the product goal?

You need to dig into this. Challenge would be a bit of a strong word, but something like that.
Where does this goal come from?
What about the product goal? Is it still relevant? Did it change?
Are we aware that what we ask to achieve is not aligned with what the product is created for?
Maybe with some additional work, the not related sprint goal, could be somehow shaped into actually being aligned with the product goal? Perhaps what the outcome is supposed to be could be achieved without going against the product goal?

🛫 I would say to look to what is the outcome of the meeting (a sprint with a clear goal and a plan for getting to it) and so by facilitating the meeting (not running it!) I make sure that the Scrum Teams achieves that meeting outcome. As good as possible. My engagement on the meeting it either related to providing support for the team with tools or ideas when needed, getting the conversation back to the meeting's goal when we deviate too much, and making sure the meeting is collaborative (every voice respected). This sounds like something that would fit for more than just the Sprint Planning, but as the outcomes change the specifics we do change, while the above stays.
🛬 I really liked the ideas of challenging the PO, but I would do this 1o1 with him and before the sprint planning meeting, not on it. But the topic of making reacting to when the team is going too far into decision-making about what we aim to achieve with the sprint, is something I did not think about, but makes super sense.
