Looks delish. And yes i remember and still use regular bread instead of buns for my hambugers. When i go to the cafeteria at work they know my burger goes on toasted bread instead of bun.

That base of onions & mushrooms makes a delicious Salisbury steak gravy, make everything just like you have. Do you up a roux, get it to the gravy stage you like and put your hamburger patties back in. Its so good, and justvlike you say "Your just cookin' "😂

We used regular wonder bread for hot dog and hamburger buns growing up if we were having them for regular lunch or dinner but during summer my ma would buy buns special for picnics. We didn't even complain because both my parents worked and we were grateful for whatever we had to eat, momma cooked a meal every night and the only time we got fast food was when daddy bought him and ma t-bone steaks 😂😂. We thought it was so cool and here daddy didn't wanna spend for 2 more T-bones 😂😂

I got all the ingredients to make your egg salad, including farm fresh eggs from a friend, & maybe before I go to bed I’ll make some. A lot of protein in it which is what I need
