- The project started to take shape and colour. The engine was partially rebuilt and installed. The car was finally driven on the road. A lot more is left to do, but finally feeling positive about the future of the car.

Great work, I see it is now fuel injected, I am putting a 4sp transmission in one of my series 3's , also tanks getting flushed with new injectors hoping to sort it out before I go to your extreme. cheers from George K Australia
This is fantastic work and admire your patience to get this beautiful car back on the road. Here in England they are still banger racing these can you believe it?
Thanks Alan. I feel sorry for all the classic cars that got lost in banger racing and I will never understand why. For most people, this Jaguar would have been a parts car at best, but for me it was a neglected car that deserved to be saved and has given me tons of joy while working on her.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in EU :-( In Germany the Green party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated station per city. :-(

No, it has a BW66 auto gearbox.
Hello I see the engine appear to use Series 3 injection. How did you arrange the engine management (EFI) ? Is it difficult to retrofit S3 EFI in an older XJ6 ?
The whole engine is from a Series 3 - not just the EFI. I think you need a different cylinder head to fit EFI in an older engine but not sure.
@@ikapageridis I was thinking what kind of work would be needed to integrate Series 3 EFI with the rest of a Series 1 car electrics.
@@gunnarMyTube you need the EFI harness that runs from the engine all the way to the boot where the ECU is located. Series 3 also has a single fuel pump that is inside the boot and not inside the tanks, so you will probably need new tanks, pump, and pipes for the feed and return.
